The Woman Ruler of the Altan Clan

The Woman Ruler of the Altan Clan
Chapter 70 The Girl in the Forecast

Khan's golden brown eyes seemed to glow brighter. He took a step towards Sofia and stopped. "Why can't it?" khan urged while watching him closely.

Shanum saw Sofia getting nervous. His eyes twitched in the other direction, he did not dare to look directly into the eyes of Khan or Shanum, and remained silent.

The girl thought there must be something that the woman had to cover from them. And he knows that Sofia is trying to protect the person who gave the order. If he leaked the information, of course the woman would be immediately branded as a traitor by his clan.

The girl tried to twist her brain, to be able to provoke an answer from the woman's lips. If Khan's straightforward, no-nonsense approach doesn't work, what if he makes a more subtle approach. Shanum changed his position from kneeling to sitting cross-legged next to Sofia. Then he raised one of his hands, made a flutter in the air, and removed the bond that locked the woman.

Sofia took a deep breath as her chest felt more relieved. Then raise both hands and move them in front of the face. Still in disbelief he looked down at his chest, grabbed it, and found no ties there.

Then tilting his head towards Shanum, he asked, "Why did you open my bond?" His eyes lit up full of wonder. "You're not afraid I'm gonna strike you back?"

"No." Shanum calmly replied with a faint smile. "I'm sure I can fight you, if you come back. All I want is for this matter to be resolved without violence. I wanted it so much that I had no room for fear. Though the worst may still be lurking, but I'm prepared to face it."

Sofia smiled smirked. "It seems like a lot of people will like you, if they find out about your kindness. Including me," he said, moving his stiff hands and body to the left and to the right.

"He doesn't need it! This girl should only like me," Khan's voice sounded loud, sharp, with his usual cold face and feet.

Sofia was stunned, then she was blown away violently, even as Shanum gawked towards Khan. "I also like possessive men" he said, glancing mischievously at Khan. The man snorted when he heard Sofia's words with his mouth tightly gripped.

"It looks like I have to tie you up again" Shanum grumbled as he prepared to raise his hand. Sofia chuckled in amusement while holding Shanum's hand. "You are indeed a perfect couple, equally possessive."

The woman smiled towards Shanum. When he saw that the girl's face was still bent stiff he said, "I'm just kidding, Shanum. Don't put it in the heart."

Shanum lowered his hand back, as he exhaled in relief. He didn't like it if he had to tie back the General.

Sofia then looked at Khan with a sharp look. "I can't say who's after Shanum. Especially the one who sent me. Because I'm bound by an oath of devotion to him. All I know is that it all started with an ancient prophecy that has been rooted for hundreds of years throughout the Clan."

Shanum scowled, his forehead wrinkled in signifying confusion was mastering him. "I'm not a member of any of the clans. Why are they coming after me?" ask Shanum.

"They thought Shanum was the girl who was predicted" Khan guessed. The man sat down cross-legged beside Shanum. Not far from their position, Sergei seemed to observe with a position leaning his body on a tree that was still standing.

The nausea whack Shanum heard Khan's reply. Meaning in the future, he would be chased by all the clans. What more horrors must he experience regarding the prophecy? Even though he said he was ready to face it, he still felt horrified to spend all his time in danger of death.

"And what is the prophecy?" shanum Urge. There was no way he would engage in a prophecy that could threaten his life, without knowing what the contents of the prophecy were. Shanum looked at Khan and Sofia's faces. And he saw Khan's face which implied a tense expression.

Shanum squinted his eyes. "You know about this?" The girl saw Khan suddenly agitated. Shanum smiled blandly. "So you're not being frank with me again, Adri?" Shanum began to tremble, not out of fear, but more from the disappointment that had taken hold of his heart.

The girl tried to refrain from showing her disappointment. He looked into Khan's eyes with an indecipherable flat look. Closing off their bond access and not heeding the turmoil he felt in his mind.

"Shasha," call Khan hoarse. The man inched closer to Shanum. The girl straightened her back, her face looking up towards Khan. He returned the man's gaze, hinting that he was waiting for an answer from her. But just as Khan was frozen silently not saying a word, Shanum clucked and urged him back, "Say, Adri!"

"I'd better explain the prophecy" Sofia said with a forced smile. The woman looked uneasy being in that increasingly cold and stiff situation.

Khan raised his hand, gesturing for Sofia not to continue what she wanted to say. "I need to get this straight first." Khan looked at Shanum, his eyes glittering strangely.

"The first thing I want to explain is; I never knew there was a connection between the prophecy and you. Then secondly, I never thought about the prophecy, Shasha. Especially when I'm always in the shadows of you. Let alone divination, my activities alone many are neglected because they miss you."

Shanum's face immediately flushed in embarrassment. He did not expect that the man could-can-can say such a personal thing in front of many people in a loud voice. With a serious expression, without the slightest smile and awkwardness.

And sure enough, Sofia's reaction was funny. He was flabbergasted, seeing the contrasting difference between the man's speech and expression. Khan's words were sweet, but his face had little expression. Sofia then coughed a little, her face instantly looking puzzled.

"Em, I'd better give privacy to both of you, and I'll wait somewhere else. Take it easy, I won't do anything" he said, grimacing.

"No, you stay here. Now it's your turn to tell me about the prophecy. I already told you my part. Now I want to hear about the prophecy according to your clan version, here's why the Bataar Clan is after my lover" Khan said in a stern voice.

Sofia glanced at Shanum, and saw the girl waiting for her words. "All right," said Sofia. "A long time ago, when the famous seer of the Batzorig Clan was alive. He said, sometime in the future from a distant land across the ocean, there would appear a girl who in her blood flowed the descendants of the four clans. The girl will inherit the special powers of each of those clans, and also have her own unique powers. Power that is truly powerful and no one will ever equal it." Sofia's eyes look far away while telling the beginning of the prophecy.

"That girl will be the fateful partner of the Great Clan leader Altan. This girl will change the rules of each clan and make the Altan Clan the highest Dynasty. That's how the prophecy we from the Bataar Clan knew all along."

Shanum frowned as he looked at Sofia. He was confused to hear the woman's story. Because of course the girl in the prophecy wasn't her. It's not that he doesn't believe in himself. But if he can get that great, to be able to create a Dynasty.

Shanum shook his head. It seems impossible that it was him. They had all mistaken Shanum for the girl in the prophecy.

"I'm sorry, you guys seem to have misunderstood people. I'm not the girl in the prophecy" Shanum said flatly.

"Yes, it seems that the person who sent me was wrong. You're not that girl. Because you are the lover of this man, not the Great One of the Altan Clan" Sofia replied. His eyes lifted apologetically towards Shanum.

"We thought you had a relationship with the Great One, after the news of you guys was heard to the entire clan. You reportedly lived in his mansion for months and had a close relationship with him."

"Emm..." Shanum looked misbehaved, he looked towards Khan with a clear glance, asking for the man's help. Khan caught his gaze and asked Sofia, "Why do you want to kill the girl in the prophecy?"

Shanum let out a sigh of relief, Khan had taken him out of the situation that went awry earlier.

To avoid further suspicion of Sofia, the girl asked, "Yes, why? The girl didn't do anything bad" Shanum said. He was curious to hear the woman's answer as well.

Sofia sniffed her shoulders. "I don't really understand either. I'm sorry, I can't answer it," Sofia replied with a plain-looking face.

"What are you gonna do now? Are you going to look for the girl in the prophecy again?" shanum asked as he looked at his nails. Pretend the question is a passing curiosity.

"Of course I'll go back and explain that you're not the girl that the prophecy refers to. And about looking for the girl, it doesn't seem. Because there are so many more important things that I have to take care of than looking for a girl who is not clear whether to appear at this time or still a few hundred years away." Sofia grinned, lifted her body and stood up. He patted his robe, removing the dust stuck there.

Shanum glanced beside him, and saw anger, not worry glittering in Khan's eyes. He was certain that at this moment the man was eager to strangle Sofia and asked her to tell him who the person who gave the order was.

Shanum got up from his seat, then lowered his head, he extended his hand towards the man. Khan was fixated, but a few seconds later he grabbed the outstretched hand. When the man had fully stood up, he passed his fingers one by one to the clutch of Khan's fingers, smiling sweetly.

Khan returned the girl's smile with an intoxicating smile. The man looked increasingly handsome, and the fierce expression completely disappeared from his face.

Sofia was fixated on observing the friendly behavior of the two. His mouth tightened and he blinked a few times. Then Sergei is suddenly already among them, cutting Sofia's spectacle to the behavior of the two. "Wouldn't you go back to your clan?" she nodded with a cold voice.

Sofia turned her head, raising her eyebrows slightly. The woman looked at Sergei from head to toe, scanning the man's appearance. It was as if the woman had just realized her presence in that place.

"I think I know you. Have we met before?" ask the woman with an interested face.

Sergei's expression looked increasingly cold, his back stiff. Slowly the man displayed a mocking smile at Sofia. "There's no way we've ever met. A commoner like me is very unlikely to be able to come into contact with a great General from the Bataar Clan."

Sofia blinked her eyes. He heard a tone of flattery and insults at the same time. Sofia felt this man before her was hiding something. But he could not detect it, nor could he urge any further. Sofia did not want to do something that would add to the murky situation that had happened.

Sofia simply replied by lifting her chin and said, "I think you're right. I could never have come into contact with a person from a low caste." The woman looked at Sergei with a look of ridicule for real.

Khan gave Shanum a warning look, when the man saw Shanum about to open his mouth. Khan also tightened his fingers, and shook his head. Shanum sighed in defeat, he forced himself not to react. He understood, Khan kept him from interfering further in the hot stream of their squabbles.

Even though his mind was still curious. He suspected that something had happened between the two men. But it could be asked directly to Sergei later after they returned to the villa.

Shanum saw Sofia approaching his troops. He rolled his eyes around the injured men. He saw five men lying on the ground. The woman lowered her head and examined each of the men, and let out a tired sigh.

"I'll help." Shanum immediately knelt down and channeled his healing energy. Sofia was stunned, she did not expect Shanum to help the enemy who had tried to harm her. If only she was helped maybe Sofia could still understand. Shanum must have wanted to extract information from him.

"Why do you want to help someone who's been trying to kill you?" sofia asked with a astonished expression. The woman glanced also at Khan who was faithfully accompanying Shanum. The man did not forbid Shanum's actions. He only watched her with an indecipherable cold face.

Shanum smiled. "I was always educated by my parents to never repay evil deeds with other evil treatment. You can fight if it's to protect yourself. But if you can avoid and succumb it's better."

"Isn't that the act of a coward?" tanyanya while grunting loudly. The woman noticed Shanum was moving on to the next man to be treated by him.

"No. Cowardice to me is more of an act of molestation without any apparent reason, and merely following a blindly angry instinct." Shanum glanced at him while smiling faintly.

"Or follow the order to kill without heeding the person you are about to kill it deserves to be killed or not" he added. Sofia squinted her eyes, staring intently at the girl. Khan was heard growling looking at the sharp gaze of the woman towards his girl. Shanum touched Khan's hand and shook his head.

He stopped releasing his healing power, then looked at Sofia calmly. His head did not shrink despite being glared at by the woman.

"I have no experience with these murders. But to me, taking away someone's precious life for no apparent reason is still wrong. I will never be forced to do so, even if it is an order in duty. If there was another better alternative, I would definitely choose it. But even if it doesn't exist, maybe I'd rather resign from that task."

Sofia smiled blandly. Somehow he felt that the girl's speech had struck his conscience. He lowered his head pretending to look at his hands, covering up the guilty look on his face.

"But everyone makes mistakes. And every mistake should be a meaningful lesson to do better later on" Shanum added.

Sofia immediately raised her gaze. He looked towards Shanum with a look of admiration that he did not cover up anymore. "I don't think you're any ordinary Shanum girl. And I'm proud to know you."

Shanum shrugged his shoulders while smiling faintly. He had already finished treating all the men lying helpless earlier. Now the men have begun to be able to wake up from their previous position.

"Take off their bonds!" khan's orders to Jullian and Abdan. The two men of Khan's bodyguard deftly untied Sofia's men.

Sofia then starts casting spells to open a portal to Samarkand, the city where the Bataar Clan is located. The woman ordered her men to march into the portal. While he himself looked towards Shanum while smiling.

"See you, Shanum. I hope our next meeting is in a better situation. Sorry for our previous treatment, and thank you," Sofia said as she placed her arms crossed over her chest with a slight bow, a sign of respect between the clans commonly done by them.

"See you Sofia. You still owe me a debt to repair my forest. I hope you can take responsibility after this." Shanum replied with a serious face.

Sofia froze, but she laughed out loud when she saw Shanum showing his grin. The girl was just teasing him.

Sofia. "I'll fix it right away if you want. I'll bring someone who has the power of nature to regrow the trees."

"no need. We can handle it ourselves" Khan said in a cold tone.

Sofia clucked and shook her head. "I'm surprised at you Shanum. Why would you want to be the lover of a person whose cold attitude freezes like that? Although his face was very handsome, I still preferred the warm and voluptuous." After saying that Sofia immediately jumped into the portal.

The atmosphere there was back to silence. Shanum smothered his mouth, holding back the laughter that was about to come out of his mouth. Sofia deliberately, without a guilty face at all leaves questions without an answer to her.

Khan's face and demeanor were indeed cold and stiff with others. But Sofia doesn't know, that attitude could turn warm and exciting if only for Shanum.

Shanum's face was met with red as he recalled the man's romantic demeanor and also his unusually hot kiss. Until now it can still make his heart beat fast, and warm his entire body.
