Witness or Suspect?

The atmosphere was very heated at this moment, the eyes with sorrow all fixed on the mother of the man who was helplessly lying on the hospital bed. Lili, looked at Yona with a gaze that they could not understand. Those eyes were flushed with tears that were relentlessly shedding on his cheeks.

So did Yona, the woman did not expect what Lili had just said. It was not like the mother of his future fiancee who always greeted him with a typical warm smile. Regan's mother defends her when she has a fight with Regan, even though Yona is the one at fault. A mother who has always loved Yona is like loving her own child.

“Bunda” sagging Yona stares at Lili unexpectedly.

Lili looked at Yona with eyes that glittered furiously, none of this would have happened if Yona had not forced her will to order their engagement souvenirs when the owner of the shop had promised to come to the William family home to deliver the souvenirs they had ordered.

If only they hadn't left, Regan would definitely not have experienced this kind of thing. If Regan was still at home, the man would not have gotten the stab wounds so Regan would have to go to the hospital and get surgery to stitch the wounds on his head.

What if something happens to Regan? Worse, the man was injured in his head. Lili really can not imagine if her only son experienced bad things due to the incident that happened today.

“Nurse, please take my son to the treatment room” Septian told the nurses in charge of taking Regan to the man's treatment room during the hospitalization until the man regained consciousness and was allowed to go home by a doctor.

“Good pak” replied the hospital nurse invites her co-workers to re-invite the patient into the treatment room that Yona had chosen when the woman signed the surgical approval and became a guardian for Regan before the old man came there.

The nurse assigned to deliver Yona also persuaded Yona to return to a wheelchair to get further treatment of the woman's health, who appeared to look unwell and weak after the disaster horrible plus donating his blood to Regan.

“Yona, we'll talk about it later. Now you have to get care” Shinta said giving understanding to Yona.

Septian nodded, giving his future son-in-law a signal to obey Shinta's orders. Lili is in a state of anxiety and dilemma as a mother. Lili needed someone she could blame in this condition for her heart to calm down a little. Septian stroked his wife's shoulders, giving the woman peace.

“Pattern, no one knows when the ordeal will come” said Septian reminding his wife that it is their duty as human beings to receive all the portions of distress and happiness that God has prepared for them.

Hendra invites Shinta to follow nurse Yona's steps, prompting their daughter to enter Yona's nursery. Leaving behind Lili and Septian who were still silent for the incident that befell their son.

“I want to accompany my son” lirih Lili with her voice hoarse because she cried for too long.

Septian led his wife's very weak steps, hearing the news that Regan and Yona were in the hospital made her very sad. Moreover, seeing the fact that their only son was getting a disaster that required surgery certainly made Lili as a mother feel devastated as well as very anxious.

Lili and Septian entered Regan's ward, Yona chose the man a VVIP nursery that had one bedroom for the patient waiters and a set of living sofa tables there. Lili sat on the chair beside Regan's bed. The woman grabbed Regan's hand which was now on the infusion. Lili stroked it slowly with teary eyes.

“Mother doesn't know what else to say, mother can't see Regan lying here with this heartbreaking situation. Regan has to get up, mom and dad are waiting for Regan to wake up.” Lirih Lili had no power to stem her tears.

Lili looked at Regan's face which looked very pale, the woman's heart ached looking at her son like that.

Which mother would be willing to see her child lying helplessly in the hospital with a sharp-edged wound that could endanger her son's life? No one knew how Regan's current health was before the man regained consciousness and performed more detailed health checks.

"Darling, you need to rest. You cry too much" said Septian reminded his wife who has a weak heart disease in her old age to maintain her own health.

"You this is how the other child got into a disaster is still thinking of rest!" Upset Lili looked at her husband in annoyance.

While Septian only gaped in disbelief listening to his wife scold him who was well intentioned remind Lili with the woman's own health. Just like Lili, Septian also felt the same anxiety as her. Regan is still their only child, impossible if Septian isn't worried about Regan.

Only, the man seems not so able to express his feelings unfortunately with the son who is closer to the mother than with himself. Septian often spent his time working abroad as a lecturer at one of the State Universities there. The man decided to return to Indonesia because his wife's health was not too good.

"Honey you're the only one worried about Regan? We're all worried about Regan dong. Me, you, Yona and her family" Septian said, reminding the man of Lili's behavior towards Yona, which he considered outrageous but also very natural in their calamity.

Moreover, Lili is a mother, who only has one child. Everyone must know how the woman feels like other mothers in general.

"Oh yeah baby, isn't your attitude towards Yona just too cruel huh?" Septian said sitting on the guest sofa because his legs had been throbbing for too long standing from waiting for Regan in the operating room until now he could just sit there.

Lili looked at her husband, the woman let out a long sigh thinking about what she had done to Yona. Lili actually did not have the heart and also did not mean to be that rude with Yona. But I don't know, he just needs someone who is responsible for the circumstances that befall his only son.

"All this is because Yona's fault, if only she hadn't forced it to" Lili's remark came to a halt when her husband interjected.

"No one knows the fate of a person, everything has been determined, Regan suffered a disaster at this hour, on this road, with whom, because of whom. You should be grateful that Yona was with Regan and quickly called the police" Septian said for the first time to speak at length just to defend their children.

Septian felt bad for Yona's parents. They must have felt sad to see their child being treated like that by Lili. Not to mention the engagement of the two is imminent. Is it possible that Regan and Yona's engagement will continue with their current condition and also their case now still does not know where the direction will flow.

"I don't want to talk about it" Lili replied closing their conversation about Yona.

One of the two robbers who causes trouble in Yona and Regan's life is finally caught while on the run. Another robber who got a self-defense blow from Yona is being treated in one of the hospitals not far from the crime.

His names are Sutrisno and Nardi. Sutrisno had to be paralyzed with gunfire because he tried to escape from the pursuit of police who were about to arrest him. While Nardi, the man has a condition that is not much different from Regan. It's just that the man's injuries weren't too severe because Yona hit him. Unlike Regan who get hit from men who have extra energy.

"How is the doctor?" Ask the police who took Nardi to the hospital.

"The injury is quite serious but it's okay, but still the patient must be in intensive care in the hospital and can not do the investigation process yes sir" explained the doctor.

The police on duty understood that the man was standing guard in front of Nardi's treatment room waiting for orders from their superiors.

On the other hand, the officers who conduct the crime scene have secured the evidence they will bring to serve as evidence in the trial.

"What about the status of women? He could be charged with attempted murder in a self-defense attempt?" Ask one of the TKP teams there.

"We asked for his testimony as a witness, after hearing the explanation we only determined his status after the investigation" said the investigator who was also present there.

The news of the arrival of one of the police as an investigator reached Hendra's ear. The man told his daughter to prepare.

"Investigators are on their way here, just answer those related to the robbery. If they ask about you fighting, just answer our lawyer who will accompany you" said Hendra told his daughter not to be nervous.

"Darling, you told our lawyer, right? What if Yona's under arrest on charges of attempted murder?" Shinta asked who looked very anxious.

Yona just squeezed her hands nervously, not expecting that she would experience this kind of thing ahead of her engagement day with Regan who was just counting the days.

"What are you talking about? Yona did it because one of her robbers almost stabbed Regan with a knife" Hendra told Shinta.

Shinta turned her head towards Yona, the woman clasped her daughter's hand to channel the power.

"Everything will be fine, mommy and daddy with you" Shinta said, pulling her lips and smiling warmly.

Shinta herself felt very sorry for everything that had now happened to her daughter. Nearly ten hours passed, but Regan had not shown any signs of self-consciousness either. Their engagement day was five days. If indeed their situation could not hold the engagement, the worst news is that maybe the engagement of the two will be void to be carried out.

But that's not what we should be worried about now. Regan's condition as well as the new problems surrounding Yona have been waiting for them to face.

The knock on the door of Yona's nursery made them turn their heads. One policeman and one gallant man in the investigator's special formal attire plus one doctor who will give an explanation of Yona's condition.

"Doctor, can we ask a question to Miss Yona Anantasya William?" Ask the investigator to read Yona's full name from the duty letter she received to confirm the woman's identity.

"Could go ahead" said the doctor explained that Yona's condition was able to ask each other answers even though the woman's mental condition may not be back to full health after experiencing a tragic incident with her future fiance.

"Sorry father, mother, let us do our duty for a moment" police told Hendra and Shinta.

Shinta stroked the top of Yona's head, the woman nodded in a sign of understanding. 

Yona's parents had already walked out of the woman's treatment room. After making sure the door was completely closed, the investigator approached Yona.

"How are you today?" Ask the investigator before asking questions about the case that befell Yona.

Yona just nodded softly, "I'm good" Yona replied in a very soft voice.

"Because the sister is in good shape and can answer questions from me. So I as the investigator dealing with the case involving sister Yona and brother Regan will ask you a few questions." 

"How many questions?" Tanya Yona looked up at him.

'This is the first time I've met such a famous model' the investigator chanted inwardly. If this wasn't her job, she might ask Yona for her phone number.

"There are seven" the investigator said, widening Yona's eyes.

They think Yona suspects the robbery and strafe him with seven questions?

"Can you tell me how it started?" 

Yona nodded, the woman recalled the last night that she would probably remember her entire life. For the first time Yona missed the mainstream experience and action like last night.

Not to mention his bravery of hitting the robber's head.

Yona explained everything, without subtracting or exaggerating.

"Who hit Nardi's suspect in the head?" The investigator asked Yona to swallow her saliva.

The woman squeezed the hospital blanket, took a deep breath and threw it away slowly.

"My head is dizzy" said Yona holding her head.

He had to postpone the investigator's question until his family's attorney came.

"One question is left, can you answer it?" 

"Forcing witnesses to answer questions in unsanitary conditions violates the ethics of the investigator" said someone making them all turn their heads.

The lawyer for the Yona family has come, the young man whose age is at the end of his twenties comes at the right time.

The lawyer shows an official power of attorney between himself and Yona.

"Now, the one with respect to my client will be my responsibility" he explained.

"No problem, everyone deserves a lawyer" the investigator looked at Yona and her lawyer.

"But it looks like my client is not in a healthy condition to conduct an investigation" he told investigators.

The investigator closed the case book.

"Quickly, you will come to the police station either as a witness or a suspect over Nardi" he said staring fixedly at Yona.
