In the middle of the night, Kalea woke up feeling her stomach rumble. The hot afternoon that they passed by a few hours ago had drained almost all of the energy that was within his body. Not only hungry, Kalea also felt her throat was so dry and hoarse.
But, Kalea did not dare to turn her body around. Behind him, Gavin may still be awake and looking at his naked back. Yes, Kalea still did not get out of bed. Rejecting the idea of putting her clothes back on the floor because of an oath to God, Kalea felt her whole body ache, especially at the bottom.
So, in order to hide her face as red as a boiled crab, Kalea could only turn around while pulling a blanket to cover her innocent body and hoping that Gavin would not suddenly hit her again.
"Kal?"
Kalea pretended to be deaf as Gavin called her name with a heavy, hoarse voice. Because if he did, the man would definitely pull his body and make their neutrals collide with each other in a long dark maze. Kalea was already too lost, she did not want to get lost any further and it was getting harder to find a way out.
"I know you're not sleeping."
Fucking gavin! If the sentence could be blatantly Kalea echoed, perhaps her feelings would be a little more relieved. But Kalea is still Kalea who always ends up being a coward while being with Gavin.
There was the sound of breath that seemed to be deliberately thrown out loud. Actually, Kalea was quite curious about Gavin's facial expression right now. But the curiosity was still no greater than her fear, so Kalea remained stubborn to hold on to her position.
"You don't want to wear clothes? Cold, Kal, you'll catch a cold."
Instead of answering, Kalea pulled the blanket until now her entire body and head were drowned in the thick blanket. He tried to close his eyes, but his efforts failed because he was wrongly focused on his own naked body.
Finally, Kalea again gushed her head slowly. With a very careful movement, he turned around. There, Gavin was sitting leaning on the headboard of the bed and had been fully dressed. The man stared at Kalea.
"Wear the shirt." Said Gavin again.
But once again Kalea did not reply. He was silent for a long time, making Gavin careless. The man got out of bed, picked up Kalea's scattered clothes and put them in the dirty laundry basket in the corner of the room with the bathroom door. Then Gavin walked to the closet and picked up a nightgown suit and placed it on the edge of the mattress.
"Wear the shirt so you don't catch a cold." His orders with a resolute and indisputable tone of voice.
"I'm going downstairs to cook. You don't have to go anywhere, just here. I'll bring the food here, we'll eat here."
Kalea still did not answer. He looked at the nightgown suit that Gavin had put down long enough before his attention was stolen from hearing Gavin's footsteps drifting away.
Apparently, the man had already walked towards the door without waiting for an answer to come out of his lips. In an instant the tall and sturdy body was already not visible in Kalea's vision and she could only sigh in relief.
Long enough for Kalea to even just put on her clothes. The pain felt in the private parts of his body really almost drove him crazy.
Then when Kalea dragged her step towards the dresser to just check the condition of her face that was bathed in sweat, Kalea was stunned when she saw that there were so many reddish marks on her open neck.
Then the shadow of what happened a few hours ago turned back on his brain. Arriving one by one like a collage of photos scattered out of memory space in the head.
Just like that, Kalea again felt her heart pound quickly and a red hue quickly crept across her cheeks.
Not wanting to be made even crazier, Kalea tried to get those shadows out of her head. But what happened was just the opposite. Instead of disappearing, the shadows are even more clearly visible and even feel so real when only referred to as a mere shadow.
The scene where Gavin looks at him full of puja, who is greeted with the roar of his hunting breath when feeling every touch of Gavin's long fingers on the surface of his skin makes Kalea lose more sanity.
All his life, he had never imagined that he would be in this kind of situation. He never expected, that after reaching what people would call the heaven of the world, he would have to go through this infuriating phase. The phase where the entire part in his brain just twisted scene after scene made every cell in his body weaken again.
Then before his head grew full and his sanity was snatched away, Kalea recalled her conversation with Karel the other day. The man invites her to meet to discuss about the continuation of their efforts to find Brother. And that memory makes Kalea even more foggy because the meeting plan will be carried out tomorrow.
How will Kalea meet Karel with a neck condition full of reddish spots like this?!
Damn it, fucking Gavin! Why did he have to put so many marks on his neck?
Kalea was in a panic. Of the many things that could have been thought of by his brain, it was as if it disappeared at times like this. His brain seemed suddenly frozen and he could no longer bring up such brilliant ideas as usual.
Anxiety and frustration mix into one. Kalea broke her hair while continuing to scream in her heart. What's he supposed to do? someone, please give advice!
...****************...
Gavin returned to the room after nearly twenty minutes of struggling with the stove. He came with a plate of spaghetti bolognese and a glass of water. Put the two things on the nightstand while the net began to go around looking for the existence of Kalea.
Where did that woman go?
Gavin forbade her to leave the bed, but she would not listen.
"Kal?" call Gavin while walking to the bathroom door. He thought, maybe Kalea was in there.
"Kal, are you inside?" call again. This time it was accompanied by several knockings that were thrown at the door.
But again there is no answer. Curious, Gavin grabbed the doorknob and opened it slowly. And again what Gavin met in the bathroom was emptiness.
Kalea wasn't there. So where did that woman go?
It was impossible for Kalea to settle out into the backyard because in order to get there, Kalea had to pass through the kitchen and Gavin was sure his eyes never went out watching around even though he was focused on cooking. After all, Gavin wasn't sure the woman could even walk that far.
"Kal, where are you? Don't joke." Gavin panicked, but he kept trying to calm down.
He walked back towards the bed and was intending to check if Kalea went to bring his phone or not.
Until suddenly...
BRAKKK!!!
There was a noise that immediately made Gavin's panic rise many times.
What was? What the hell's going on?
