The noise of the vehicle and the sound of a simple horn down there did not make the cadets disturbed at all. Smoke continued to come out from the sides of his lips when the cigarette in between his fingers finally lit up after being left silent for minutes. Here, on the roof of the building where Irina was shooting, Taruna chose to spend time thinking about many things. Take a moment to withdraw from people who have the potential to add to the crowd in his head.
When the cigarette he smoked began to burn, Taruna turned around. He leaned back against the wall as his gaze drifted far ahead, on the figure of Irina sitting at the door sipping her own cigarette. The woman looks solemn enjoying the smoke in and out of her respiratory tract while her eyes are cool exploring the screen of the phone that is somehow displaying what. Maybe the date with Gabriel Pernama? Ah, saying that name makes Taruna again feel annoyed. Somehow at first, the boy suddenly comes into Irina's life and causes trouble. Of course, Taruna became upset because she was the one who had to clean up the problem. But more than that, Taruna felt annoyed at Gabriel for already harassing someone precious to her.
Midshipmen don't really remember when this feeling started. But clearly, when he regained consciousness, he had already fallen too far for Irina. On several occasions, the woman had managed to extinguish the flames of anger that almost burned her out. With her soft hands, Irina seemed to be able to take care of the gaping wound within the heart of the Cadets, making sure the wound was drying out and slowly healing. Irina's clear voice that resembled a spring in the mountains was always able to calm all the anxiety that had plagued her. Even at one point when Taruna felt she was about to lose herself, Irina's figure managed to bring her back.
It'swrong. Taruna knew, there was no need to remind her that much. The cadets knew that the feelings he had for Irina should not continue. Even if the woman is not the lover of her friend even once, Taruna still should not continue her feelings. Because Irina is too perfect for someone who is not as whole as she is. It was those thoughts that finally managed to hold him back from stopping that night. Lucky, thought the cadets. Because if that night he really touched Irina, then today he must be crying wailing about his stupidity.
"Lo still has a cigarette, right? I want to." The half-collar screamed. He still refused to move out of his place. Because according to him, his current position is the most appropriate. It can't walk any closer to Irina, it can't even get away.
Irina who felt herself being spoken to raised her head. For a moment forget the screen of the phone and also the cigarettes that are clamped between the fingers. Her net was staring fixedly at the Cadets for a few seconds. Then, instead of answering Taruna's question or giving the cigarette requested by the man, Irina instead offered her a cigarette.
"Have me half. You want?"
One corner of the lips of the Taruna was raised, the kind of smile that was too foreign for Irina to define. After all, he was not in diligent mode to translate such codes. So, when Taruna did not answer her question or walk over, Irina pulled her hand, bringing the cigarette back to the front of her mouth before sucking it slowly.
"If Gavin finds out you're smoking, he's gonna piss me off." Mouthful Taruna. But the complaint did not sound serious because after, the man smiled. This time it was a simpler smile so Irina did not need to think hard to interpret it.
"He won't have time to know if I started smoking." Irina said that after exhaling cigarette smoke that was held in her chest cavity for a few seconds. The bitterness is clearly visible through its dark bead which, if considered more carefully, begins to lose its binaries. "We know things have changed now. Gavin doesn't have me now. So, yeah..."
"Why don't you just let him go? To be honest, I am tired of wondering how platonic a Gavin is when faced with a choice between lo or his marriage to Kalea. I mean..." The cadets straighten their backs. After putting her cigarette butts on the parapet, Taruna walked over to Irina with one hand coming into her pants pocket. "The three of us knew it wouldn't be that easy to keep this a secret."
Irina nodded her head. Fully aware that Kalea is not a stupid woman who will not kiss Gavin suspicious. Since their first meeting in the hotel lobby alone, Irina has been able to know that Kalea has a high sensitivity and curiosity. Sooner or later, Gavin and all the plans behind this marriage will be revealed. And when that happened, Irina knew she was the one who would be the most harmed. Wh why? Because people will think that he is a cheap woman who wants to be the affair of a married man. No one will want to know even if he explains what his relationship with Gavin was like long before the wedding.
But then again, releasing Gavin has never been so easy.
"Na," he called slowly after being right in front of the Cadets. "Don't tell me to stay in Gavin again, will you?"
What should she say when the woman she cares about asks her to stop trying to save them all from destruction? There aren't. So all you can do is just be quiet, wait until another sentence comes out of the lips that he had tasted the sweet taste of that night.
"Until Gavin asks me to go, I'm not going anywhere."
Bastard. If only Midshipmen could shout that one word out loud, he would definitely do it right in front of Gavin's face to make the man realize that he had just wasted someone as valuable as Irina. To hell with the reason of maintaining a position in the Cakraditya family, if Gavin did love Irina, wouldn't he at least try to find another way to maintain their relationship?
"If I knew this phrase would come out of your mouth, maybe that night I wouldn't hold back, Rin." The cadets exhaled heavily afterwards. Maybe he shouldn't have held back that night. Wouldn't it be better if she could make Irina pregnant with her child so that she could escape from Gavin?
"Na, please. Don't talk about that night anymore. You know I was drunk, so-"
"So disgusted are you the same touch I am?" sela Taruna was quick, making Irina instantly speechless.
The cadets smiled cynically as Irina did not say anything after almost a minute. The woman began to look angry. No longer able to set his gaze and choose to cast a glance in any direction.
"Gue asked you to release Gavin not so I could have a chance to dapetin your heart." Taruna. For the first time, he will be honest with this woman. For Irina to understand that what she did was not merely to seek an opportunity to benefit herself but to save this woman from destruction. Because sooner or later, he and Gavin will be destroyed, and Irina should not be dragged in it. But what is the power if this woman is too stubborn? As someone who has no special place in Irina's heart, Taruna knows there isn't much she can do.
"I know." Irina's voice sounded small. "It's just..never been easy for me to do that."
"Difficult doesn't mean you can't." Sergey Taruna. "You just don't want to try more." That was the last sentence the Taruna said before leaving.
Coinciding with the orange tinge that began to appear adorning the sky above, Irina felt a pain worse than before. Just a second after the wide back of the Midshipman disappeared behind the door, Irina's tears trickled down. He cried in silence and began to regret many things.
