"It's not me." Irina said firmly while putting a velvet box containing a set of limited edition jewelry onto the table in front of Gavin. His emotions slowly felt up to the crown to make his back head feel heavy. He just woke up when he found Gavin barged into his apartment unit with a serious look. Without any pleasantries or words of greeting that Gavin used to present to him, the man immediately pointed at him with a question that felt to tear his heart apart.
Irina was used to being scorned and suspected, and she did not mind at all because after all, as humans we cannot control the minds of others. But it can only be done by someone else, other than Gavin. Because if the man does not believe him, then Irina thinks she herself will not have the ability to believe in herself.
"I keep the jewelry in the closet, I never touch it because it's too valuable and I'm afraid it will ruin your gift." Irina. Although desperately trying to neutralize the feeling again, but clear fog still began to envelop both beads of his club. "I take good care of your gifts, Vin. And now what? You're accusing me of sending this gift to your house? Make what? You think I've got that loose time to think of a nonsensical plan like that?"
Gavin just stared at the box in front of him. From the beginning, he did not want to be suspicious of Irina. It's just, maybe the way to ask this matter to Irina is wrong so that the woman now feels suspected.
After one heavy breath escaped from the side of his lips, Gavin got up from the sofa. He walked towards Irina who was now standing near the middle room divider and kitchen with her back against the wall and both hands folded in front of her chest. Without saying anything, Gavin grabbed the slender body, bringing it into his arms.
"I believe in you. I'm sorry, my excessive panic has made you feel untrustworthy with me." Gavin whispered the sentence right in Irina's ear. Then he hid his face in the niche of his lover's neck, sipping the scent of roses that became his candlestick. "So sorry." Say again.
Irina did not return Gavin's embrace. The woman pushes Gavin's body away from her. This hug was already he missed half to death, but his mood was not good and Gavin's embrace did not help him feel better at all.
"If no one wants to ask you again, let you go home. I'm gonna take a break because after lunch I have a photo shoot." Irina walked first towards the room, letting Gavin stare at her narrow back until her body was lost behind the closed door.
Instead of obeying Irina's will, Gavin set foot into the room. When the door opened, Gavin found Irina lying face down on the bed. Slowly Gavin walked over, sat down on the side of the bed and rubbed Irina's head slowly.
"Sorry, Rin. I don't mean to make you sad. I'm just like you not because I'm accusing you, but to prove that you're worth it to believe." Said. Irina still doesn't know. The woman hid her face in the pillow, too tightly hugging her arms on the pillow to make Gavin worry in case Irina would be out of breath.
"Rin?"
"You've changed a lot." Irina said in a muffled voice. After a while, he pulled out of the bed.
Gavin felt his chest tight. Like something felt pressing on her chest to make it difficult to breathe when she found Irina's face was filled with tears. She was crying, and again she was the cause.
"I have a question." Irina said in a hoarse voice. The still flowing tears drenching her beautiful face had managed to swallow the clear voice that Gavin used to enjoy every heart.
Gavin did not speak. Patiently waiting until Irina finished her stuffing. The woman wiped the tears that flowed using the back of the hand, wiping it rough until some natural lashes that fell out along with the swab.
"Jawab to be honest, you're starting to feel the same Kalea, right?"
Not starting to exist. This has been a long time feeling, Rin. Long before we met and I fell in love with you. Gavin wailed inwardly. He was silent for a while, diving into Irina's gray bead that stared fixedly at him demanding an answer. Then, Gavin grabbed Irina's hand, grasping it tightly as if so afraid of losing.
"It's still early, Rin. I can't tell you anything about Kalea before our position is completely safe. Om Arya again his spirit is looking for a gap to kick me out of the company, so I need Kalea so that Om Arya can not mess around. He won't dare to harass me as long as I'm Pradipta's son-in-law."
Irina hunchback. For God's sake he knows. Gavin does not need to explain everything from the beginning because they have often discussed this matter. What matters to Irina is how Gavin behaves towards the things that intersect with Kalea. How this guy always overreacts even to things that are not really a threat. It's as if Gavin doesn't want Kalea to get hurt. As if what Gavin did was not to protect his relationship with Irina, but to protect Kalea. Irina felt that the woman named Kalea had a place higher than herself in Gavin's heart.
Why would Irina think that? Because he was in that position. Irina had once felt how to be someone that Gavin had noticed. Someone who always wanted Gavin to protect and keep away from unpleasant things. Irina was once Gavin's number one priority, so she could sense when Gavin was doing the same for others.
After staying for quite a while, Irina still could not decide anything. He doesn't know if he can trust Gavin or not. His mood was really bad and his head was so chaotic. Irina pulled her hand from Gavin's grasp, letting the void fill her chest cavity when the big hand no longer channeled warmth.
"I have to get ready for the shoot, so let you go home now."
"No. I still want to be here." Gavin insisted. He pulled Irina's arm so that she would sit back on the bed.
Irina closed her eyes for a moment, took a deep breath then exhaled slowly while reopening her eyes. "Later Kalea suspects that you've been gone too long." To be honest, Irina hated saying that. He hated to mention Kalea at times like this. But, he had no other choice. Hard heart can not win, because after all, he still can not afford to lose Gavin. If a slight defeat could keep Gavin by her side, Irina thought she could still hold him back and a little more.
"I don't want to leave you still angry with me."
"I'm not angry."
"You are."
"Vin, man,"
"You want to slap me in the face, don't you? Maybe you can be relieved?" Gavin pulled Irina's hand, bringing the woman's palm to her face.
"What the hell, Vin. Don't be weird." Irina pulled back her hand. "So, I'm gonna take a shower."
"Hit me first let you be relieved."
Irina sighed. Not wanting to prolong this debate, Irina ended up throwing a slow punch at Gavin's shoulder. "Udah, go home."
Without waiting for Gavin to answer, Irina jumped down from the bed and walked straight to the bathroom. Arriving in the bathroom, Irina's body was broken. He sat leaning against the bathroom door with tears coming back. Banging his own chest hoping the tightness he felt could be slightly reduced, but in fact the tightness was increasingly so when he realized that there was not much he could do at this time. And perhaps, he will indeed give up more and move on to other things in the future.
