Let's Start Back

Observations have been made for several days, until doctors finally stated that Gavin's vital condition was good and he could already be moved to the hospital room to undergo further treatment.

The ventilator and defibrillator have been removed from his body, leaving an infusion tube still attached to his left hand to meet the required fluid intake.

The parents came home for a moment of rest after passing a hundred more days with worries that were getting increasingly suffocating, Karel was out buying lunch and now in a white all-round nursing room with first-class facilities there was only Gavin and Kalea, with their hands linked together.

Gavin sat on the bed, his gaze not at all changed from the bead of Kalea boba, diving into the beautiful eyes that for a hundred more days he could only see in a dream during his long sleep.

Not much has changed from that woman. The sparkle of his eyes is still the same, his long hair is still always left beautifully scattered until some scatter over his face when the wind blows. The only thing that looks so different from the woman who is now sitting next to the patient's bed is probably just the condition of her stomach that has been bloated.

"Don't go anywhere" said Gavin, with a voice that is not enough to beat the noise of the wind from the air conditioner.

But Kalea could still hear him, so she flashed a faint smile and tightened their hands, saying, "Yes, I'm not going anywhere." With her soft and soothing voice.

Had Gavin not been afraid that he might not have woken up again after closing his eyes, he would have fallen asleep soon after hearing the sweet sound of Kalea's voice.

"I'm ... guilty much of you, Kal. So, you don't go anywhere before I make amends for my mistakes, yeah." Gavin's gaze turned soft. Because he wants to think as he does, he remains guilty. There was never a proper defense enough to make him innocent of what he had done to Kalea. Even if there was, he would not be brave enough to use it. Because he is guilty.

"I'm wrong with you too much, so you can't go anywhere either." Kalea stretched out her hand, touching Gavin's face with an incomparably affectionate feeling. He knew his heart had been broken because of this man, but that was okay, as he still left many reasons to accept Gavin back.

Just tell him he's stupid, it's okay. Because perhaps, love is too difficult to find its justification through logic. Kalea just didn't want to lose Gavin, not wanting to feel anymore how her breath choked when she found the man she loved lying helplessly on the patient's bed, relying only on medical equipment to support his life. Where the tools could at any time stop working, and Gavin's life would end at that very moment.

Kalea did not want to feel that fear anymore, so with great heart, she would try to rearrange what was already messy, she said, correcting what could still be improved and trying to forget what really should not have been present in his memories from the beginning.

"You also owe me a lot of explanations, you know that."

Gavin nodded his head. Then, the link of their hand was removed, only to move to the other hand of Kalea, who was now gently rubbing her cheek.

"Thank you, Kal. Thank you for giving me a second chance" he whispered, before bringing Kalea's hand to his face and then putting a kiss there. "Thank you,"

Thinking of Choco's fate of not being able to see his father's face when the innocent baby was born into the world later, really made Kalea's breathing seem to stop. His heart does hurt to recall Gavin who was still in contact with other women when they were married. But, it felt even more painful if he had to lose this man forever.

"Let's start everything from the beginning. Let's introduce ourselves as two childhood friends who finally meet again after a long time, not as two strangers who meet just because of an arranged marriage. Let's repeat everything, brother."

Today, Kalea has decided. That he's gonna close the story of his life journey with Gavin being short just up here. Then, he would open a new leaf, to restart their story from scratch. Where they are a pair of humans who love each other, who are willing to fall awake to get to the point where they are finally reunited and united by the universe.

Today, Kalea Dimitria decided to love Mahesa Gavin Cakraditya once again, in a better way.
