Wake up, Brother

Three days after the accident, Gavin was declared in a coma and had to be intensively treated in an ICU room, complete with various medical devices installed to support his survival.

The news is of course a deep sorrow for all family members, especially Mother who was so hit that several times fell unconscious because she was reluctant to accept the reality. Papa Jonathan had to bring Mother home, holding her back from coming to the hospital for days later until Mother's condition was completely stable.

Kalea herself was quite stubborn back then. He insisted on going to the hospital every day, even though he would only end up sobbing beside the patient's bed because Gavin didn't respond at all to anything he said.

The doctor said the possibility of being conscious remained, but the possibility that Gavin would never open his eyes again was also greater. So, all the doctor could suggest was to multiply the prayer, asking God that Gavin could still be given a chance.

And now, it had entered its hundredth day, but there was still no sign that Gavin would soon wake up from his long slumber.

Kalea, whose stomach has now begun to grow, can no longer even cry. He can only continue to pray, may God still give Gavin the opportunity to live his life again, with a better storyline.

It would not be fair for God to call Gavin now, at a time when the man has not received an apology from him and from people who have contributed to contributing pain to the man for as long as he lives.

Because, during Gavin's coma, Kalea began to one by one find the truth. Through the journal he found on Gavin's laptop when he was about to check the albums of their wedding photos stored there, Kalea finally knows the reason why Gavin is still reluctant to leave Irina even though the man is already tied to a legitimate marriage with her.

The reason is only one turns out, as Gavin is preparing something to guarantee that Irina's life will be fine after her disappearance. The man had apparently been secretly buying shares in Papa's company on Irina's behalf, bit by bit, only to guarantee that after they separated, nothing would be able to disturb the woman's life.

Gavin does that as a form of responsibility towards Irina, as a thank you because the woman was willing to accompany him at difficult times as well as an apology because in the end he could not keep the woman until the end.

In addition to Irina, Kalea also found other things through the journal. One of them is the fact that Gavin is the figure of the brother he had been looking for.

There is a special section in the journal that contains about them. About how sorry Gavin was for leaving her without a dozen words of pity last year, also about how hard the man tried to find himself again.

The man also wrote that he would not die, before successfully finding himself and conveying a heartfelt apology for his passing that time.

"You haven't apologized to me, brother. So, you can't die yet" he whispered, right in Gavin's ear even though he knew the man wouldn't be able to respond.

"I have not apologized to you, either, for the misunderstanding which I have rejected his explanation from you." Further. Gavin's cold hands he reached out, he fused their fingers, then carried the cold hand against his cheek.

"You also don't know the truth about Papa Jonathan and Dyandra, either" the tightness returned when Kalea mentioned the names of the two men.

Previously, it had never been imagined by him that all the chaos that occurred in his life and Gavin turned out to be caused by Taruna, the one obsessed with demanding revenge for something that wasn't even Gavin's responsibility at all.

A week after Gavin was declared in a coma, Taruna came to Mother's house and made a fuss, saying that she wanted to hold Papa Jonathan accountable for Sierra, and Dyandra's life had been lost.

The cadets looked so confident and passionate when they offered to do a DNA test, but in the end, the results that came out actually made the man silent a thousand languages.

Based on the results of the DNA tests that came out, Papa Jonathan is not Sierra's biological father. Somehow at first until Taruna can accuse it to Papa Jonathan.

When he found out that what Taruna was accusing was completely unproven, Kalea was furious. He was cursing at the man, right in front of his face, as if he was no longer afraid of anything. She even slapped Taruna, banging her chest several times to vent her heartache as the man had injured Gavin and made her distrust her own husband.

Kalea's regret also became more so when she found out that the child conceived by Irina was the flesh blood of Taruna. That Gavin did not touch the woman at all, but Irina and Taruna were so willing to make Gavin as a scapegoat.

However, no matter how much resentment she had for Irina and Taruna, it still did not exceed her sense of self-importance. Kalea still continued to blame herself for her rude remarks to Gavin that night.

"Let's get up, brother. I beg ..." Her tears are seeping again. After days he did not spill, the stock must have left a lot.

Then, in the midst of the sobbing, Kalea felt the fingers of Gavin she was holding tightly moving slowly.

Kalea's cries stopped immediately, she carried Gavin's hand in her hand to the front of her face, watching the hand carefully to make sure that she was not hallucinating in her frustration expecting Gavin to wake up from a coma.

Jemari Gavin moved again. This time, Kalea was sure that she was not being pestered.

Then, he raised his gaze, looking at the ventilator-mounted face of Gavin. Slowly but surely, Gavin's eyes opened. The dark bead that had been asleep for so long finally woke up and looked at him.

"Ang? Is he awake?" Kalea reflexively leaned her body towards Gavin.

"Abang can hear me? Can you see me clearly?"

Gavin clearly did not reply, but as Kalea looked again, she saw Gavin's lips move slowly. So, he brought his ear closer to the man's lips, only to be made to freeze as one name slid free from the side of Gavin's lips.

"Irika ...."
