After much deliberation, doctors finally allowed Kalea to go home two days later.
The decision was of course welcomed by Kalea with pleasure. So happy, the woman pranced in front of Gavin and made the man shake his head slowly.
"Don't jump around, it'll hurt again." Prevent Gavin as Kalea gets more excited jumping up and down the hospital floor.
Kalea stopped jumping up and down while grinning. Then he darted over to the storage room and immediately packed his belongings and Gavin then put them in the bag.
"Let me just." Gavin was about to take over Kalea's job, but the woman insisted on continuing her own work without Gavin's intervention.
"You're silent. Sit down with the bells." Kalea orders while helping Gavin sit on the hospital bed.
Karel had already gone home because there was a little problem in the cafe, so the young man could not help them pack.
But that's okay, Kalea remains happy because she finally can be free from this boring hospital.
"We're going home, right?" asked Kalea on the sidelines of her activities to put clothes in a bag.
"To Mama's house." Error Gavin.
"Isn't our house?" kalea asked, completely stopping from her activities of packing up and starting to look at Gavin seriously.
"No. For a while, we stayed at Mama's house first."
"Is our house still safe?" tanya Kalea was timid. His memory of the previous terror incident suddenly popped up again filled his head, making his stomach so slightly nauseous when he remembered the scene of blood splattered everywhere after the box containing the carcass sent to him he threw it on the balcony floor.
"The guy hasn't met, Kal. So, for a while, you're safer in Mama's house." Gavin. In fact, he was a bit heavy to tell Kalea that he had not been able to find the perpetrator until now. The lack of instructions he had made it difficult, plus for several days he had to divide his focus to solve problems in the office while waiting for Kalea in the hospital.
"But just calm down, I'll keep looking until I can." Gavin tries to put on a smile to make Kalea believe that everything will be fine. Although in reality, he clearly knew nothing was okay after he decided to marry the woman.
Kalea did not reply and only resumed her activities of packing. He believes Gavin will do his best to take care of him. So, doesn't he just have to trust Gavin now?
After struggling for a few minutes, all the items from the storage cabinet had been finished he put in the bag.
Kalea smiled happily at her own work. Then, he reached out to Gavin, asking the man to get up so they could leave the hospital immediately.
Gavin received a helping hand from Kalea and they walked in tandem out of the ward. The big bag was taken over by Gavin in one hand, while the other hand was holding Kalea's hand tightly, not at all detached during their trip to the hospital basement.
...****************...
At home, Mama and Bi Imah were waiting for the arrival of Kalea with hearts pounding. From the morning when Gavin told her that Kalea could go home today, the two of them were busy preparing things.
In addition to cleaning the room, Bi Imah also cooks many of Kalea's favorite foods, providing a box full of kinderjoy and some ice cream of various flavors in the refrigerator. Anyway, Bi Imah is trying to give the best possible reception for the return of Kalea.
My mother did not do much herself. The woman was just a loyal supporter who accompanied Bi Imah to prepare a welcome for Kalea and occasionally work on it together.
After waiting anxiously, they could finally smile with relief when they found Gavin's car entering the courtyard and before long Kalea's figure came down from the car and immediately ran towards those who were already waiting in the front doorway.
"Mama! Bi Home!" greet Kalea with a super cheerful tone. He immediately rushed into the arms of Mama and Bi Imah, forgetting Gavin who could only smile thinly while following walking towards them.
"Aunt Masakin Neng Kalea's favorite. There's the same kinderjoy of ice cream in the fridge too." Said Bi Imah with an excited spirit after their cuddling scene was over.
"Mama also prepared some new painting equipment for you." Mama did not want to lose showing off what she had prepared for the beloved princess.
Kalea couldn't say anything other than a word of thanks because the two women she loved the most in the world were already willing to bother preparing a welcome for her return.
"Come, come in." Invite him while pulling the arms of Bi Imah and Mama simultaneously. The three of them walked in tandem into the house, while Gavin was still at home tailing behind with a smile that never faded.
Bi Imah and Mama immediately brought Kalea to the kitchen. Mama pulled out a chair and immediately helped Kalea to sit down while Bi Imah started busy putting rice on the plate and then anointed him with various kinds of side dishes.
"Eat a lot, Neng." Bi Imah said after thrusting the plate in front of Kalea.
Kalea accepted it with pleasure. He smiled broadly as he held his spoon up high as a sign that he was ready to bring the grains of rice and various side dishes into his mouth.
"Same Mama Bi Imah must also eat." Kalea said before putting the first mouthful into her mouth.
"Gavin, you should eat too." Kalea turned to look at Gavin who was about to walk up to the second floor.
Gavin paused for a moment, turning his head towards Kalea before shaking his head slowly.
"You go first, I want to finish our stuff first." Gavin raised the bag he was about on to the stomach.
"Yes, but it's coming down to eat, okay?"
"Yes." Yeah." Gavin answered briefly, then immediately turned around and continued the delayed move.
At every step he took, in every step he managed to climb, Gavin still continued to focus his hearing on Kalea who was now chattering cheerfully on the sidelines of his activities chewing food.
Unknowingly, Gavin smiled. Hearing Kalea's carefree chatter was one of the few simple things that could make her happy. And supposedly, the happiness that comes from these simple things he can enjoy more often. If only he hadn't been born as Papa's son.
