A week later...
This is the seventh day since Kalea and Gavin lived separately. They still live under the same roof, but no longer greet each other.
From the day of their return, the day that Kalea asked Gavin for divorce, Kalea decided to withdraw. He moved to the next room, reluctant to stay asleep in the main room which held a lot of memories of the two of them.
In that room, Kalea for the first time let herself be touched by someone else. In that room, Kalea first knew what a world paradise that people would often call. It was in that room that Kalea finally realized that she had fallen in love with Gavin, who she herself did not know when exactly the feeling began.
There were too many good memories that they carved in the room, which if he now remembers again, it makes his chest more tight and sore.
So, Kalea chose to no longer set foot there. In order to keep his mood from getting worse and he can think more rationally.
For a whole week, Kalea not only slept apart from Gavin, she also pulled away and minimized contact with the man. One of the ways he did this was to stock up on drinking water and some ready-to-eat food in the room he was now sleeping in, so that if she feels thirsty and hungry in the middle of the night, she does not have to go to the kitchen at the risk of meeting Gavin.
In this room, Kalea used her time to reflect, rethinking what decision she really had to make. He began to compare, which decision he would choose by considering the consequences of each decision he would make.
For a moment, Kalea was worried. Whether he should actually file for divorce when their marriage is still a corn, at risk of upsetting Mama and Papa, or he should be a little breastfed to give Gavin one more chance, considering that guy said he would soon finish his relationship with Irina?
After all, her position as Gavin's wife was clearly still higher than Irina who was only the man's lover status, right?
Such thinking briefly crossed Kalea's head, but in the end she shook her head violently when she was struck by the fact that long before this marriage began, Gavin looked so in love with Irina.
"Well?!"
Kalea turned her head towards the door that had been knocked on several times before. In these seven days, Gavin is still trying to rebuild the relationship with him. The man always regularly sent him breakfast placed in front of the door before leaving for work, checking his condition at night and making sure to replace the food he left with a new one, despite the fact that all the food he left behind was never touched in the slightest by Kalea.
It's not that Kalea doesn't appreciate food, she just can't accept Gavin's good treatment of her in the same way she used to. Because, he started to think that Gavin was also doing the same for Irina.
"Kal, can you open the door for a second? I just want to know that you're okay in there!" gavin shouted again, but Kalea had no intention of replying. It seemed, his energy was already drained to think about which step was best taken at the moment, so he had no more energy left to respond to Gavin's nonsense.
"I know you're angry and disappointed with me, Kal. But please don't torture yourself like this. You never eat the food I prepared, I'm afraid you're sick."
Kalea smiled obliquely. Starving for days was certainly no worse than the pain she was suffering in her heart right now.
The problem is, after what happened, Kalea no longer knows how to trust Gavin again. Because all of Gavin's talk sounds like a lie.
"Whatever, Kal. Whatever your decision, I will accept it. Its nothing. I'd be willing if I had to let you go, if it was for your happiness. But .. " Gavin hung up his sentence. Although they were not facing each other now and Kalea could only hear Gavin's voice from behind the door, Kalea was sure the man was taking a deep breath now, before continuing his sentence.
"One week. Please give me a week to at least take care of you again like I used to. After a week, you can decide anything. I'll accept your decision with a big heart, because it's all my fault."
Kalea did not answer, even more silent because now, her head is getting noisier and her anxiety is getting worse.
How'this? What's there to do? Did he really have to give Gavin the one week that the man asked for?
But ... What if it makes it even harder for Kalea to leave the man? What if Kalea just fell down, and she had no power to get up, then she had to be stuck forever in this agonizing feeling?
...****************...
Gavin was still reluctant to move from his place even though for almost an hour, Kalea still did not come to understand his words.
Now, Gavin sat on the floor, leaning his back against the door of Kalea's room with one leg straightened and another bent, used as a pedestal for one of his hands that drooped limp on the knee.
Next to his body, two cell phones were found. Two phones that he had never brought at the same time because there were so many lies he kept there. Since now there was nothing else he could hide, the existence of the two phones was certainly no longer meaningful.
Gavin glanced at one of the two phones whose screens had just lit up. From the notification popup that popped up, she could see there were so many messages and missed calls coming in, all from Irina.
Then, Gavin exhaled loudly. In fact, he had already devised a plan so that he could continue to live with Kalea in the marriage bond and release Irina slowly without making the woman hurt and still be able to guarantee her safety after they separated.
But he had not yet reached the day that the plan reached the perfect word, everything had been torn apart by someone who until now, he still did not know who.
There are not many candidate actors in the head of Gavin, but from the least candidate, Gavin did not get evidence that can really make him believe in one candidate the perpetrators that exist.
It could have been Claretta, but the guess was instantly gone because she realized that Claretta wasn't that smart. The woman was just good at talking, insinuating her with a variety of scathing and painful sentences, but for the artist to gather evidence of her relationship with Irina, Gavin was not sure Claretta would be able to.
After all, the woman seemed to have only recently found out about her relationship with Irina lately, because if she had known for a long time, she would have used it to derail her marriage to Kalea.
Then there's Om Arya. But again Gavin clearly knew that his Om was also not as smart as his daughter. Arya and Claretta are both good at talking.
For the other offender candidate, Gavin finds even more impossibilities that eventually lead him to a dead end. Can't really guess who this bastard fucked up his life.
"I'm still waiting for your answer, Kal. It doesn't matter if I have to wait here forever." He said, before returning silent for hours ahead, because in fact Kalea was still determined not to open the door.
