Kalea had no idea why she had decided to agree on what Gavin was proposing. After more than three hours of letting Gavin continue to babble from behind the door, he finally got off the bed, walked to the door and opened the door so that now they could come back face to face.
Gavin got up from his seat, without taking along the two phones he had left helplessly in place. Kalea is aware of the existence of the two phones, and without needing to explain though, she already knows that the phone must also be a witness to Gavin's lies all along.
"Kal," call Gavin slowly. Kalea could see the man trying hard to refrain from walking any closer, and still create some distance.
"One week." Kalea flat. For the first time in a long time, he dared to look Gavin in the eye. "It's only been a week" he repeated.
Gavin exhaled softly, then nodded albeit with a heavy heart. Inner, it's okay. At least he had one week to spend with Kalea. A week that would be made as special as possible so that he could remember for a long time.
"What do you want to eat now? Rica squid? Or what? Tell me, let me make it right away."
"No, I eat what's in the kitchen." Reject Kalea. In fact, he could have asked Gavin to cook anything because the man would have followed suit, but his ego is still high so he chooses not to demand anything and lets Gavin do all the things based on the man's own initiative.
"I'm just cooking red rice with fried chicken, is that okay?"
"It's okay" said Kalea, then he walked ahead of Gavin, down the stairs in a slow motion because honestly the steps began to be somewhat unbalanced.
Gavin tailed behind after picking up two of his cell phones and putting them in his pants pocket. In every step he took, Gavin continued to convince himself that it was okay, everything that happened was indeed a consequence of his inability to choose. Now, he just had to make the most of the week Kalea gave him.
Arriving in the kitchen, Kalea sits herself in a chair, while Gavin moves quickly to prepare food for her. It did not take long for the man to bring a plate containing brown rice, fried chicken and sambal terasi and then presented to him. Not to forget a glass of water was also provided.
"Eat a lot,"
Kalea did not answer. He just started to spoon the rice into his mouth and chewed it in a slow motion. Completely ignoring Gavin who was starting to coolly look at him.
Bribe after mouthful Kalea spent even though it took longer than usual because again his throat felt choked.
Then when her stomach could no longer accept food anymore, Kalea stopped her mouthful. He pushed the plate that still contained more than half rice and chicken, snatched the glass and directly downed the water from it to rinse his throat which was slightly hoarse due to the oil from the fried chicken.
"By eating it, I'm going back to the room." Kalea got up from the chair, about to walk away from the dining table but Gavin quickly held back his hand.
Kalea took a deep breath before turning her head towards Gavin who was still sitting in his chair. He says nothing, deciding to wait until Gavin opens his mouth.
"From tonight until next week, sleeping in our room, huh? Please."
Kalea let out a rough breath, released Gavin's hand grip then immediately passed from there without saying anything. He continued walking, until he finally arrived on the second floor and. In the end, Kalea returned to the room. Armed with the thought that he only had to endure for another week.
"It's okay, Kal. It's only been a week" he whispered to himself.
...****************...
I don't know how long Kalea tried to close her eyes, but her efforts ended in vain because instead of being sleepy, she felt refreshed.
Tonight, for no apparent reason, Kalea felt uneasy. He constantly changed his sleeping position. From the first slant to the left behind Gavin who slept on the floor mattress, on his back, until finally tilted to the right where he could see Gavin's hand towering upwards holding a mobile phone.
"Gavin," he called slowly after weighing for a while.
Gavin, who is basically always gercep, tonight becomes more and more creepy again. The man immediately got up from his sleep, sat down on the floor mattress and looked at him seriously.
"What do you need?"
Damnit. Kalea cursed in the heart. This was even the first day, but he was already rendered helpless when Gavin's dark bead looked at him with such a gentle look. It was as if the hatred and resentment that filled his chest for a week was more evaporating somewhere.
"What do you need?" ask Gavin again when Kalea does not speak after a long time.
"I ... "
"Yes?"
"There's." Gavin answered without hesitation.
"There seriously? At half-hour one in the morning, there's still a sale of grilled corn?" Kalea was a bit incredulous.
"There, Kal. If you ask, I'll travel around Jakarta for nyari."
Kalea turned the eyeballs off guard, silently sneering at Gavin's behavior as if nothing bad had ever happened between them.
But because her desire to eat grilled corn is so great now, Kalea is trying to suppress her feelings so that they do not get involved in another debate tonight.
"Yes, I'm on the road now." Gavin got up, was already about to walk towards the closet to pick up his jacket when Kalea suddenly pulled his arm.
"Why?"
"I'm coming, '" she said.
"No, I did. You just wait at home." Gavin tried to understand. But Kalea shook her head strongly.
"I want to come, anyway" Kalea the stubborn one.
Finally, Gavin relented by nodding his head. He then walked into the closet and took two jackets, for her and for Kalea.
"Wear the jacket," Gavin thrust out Kalea's jacket.
Kalea grabbed the jacket, then immediately put it on and got off the bed.
When Gavin was about to take the car keys from the top of the nightstand, Kalea again held her hand.
"What else, Kal?"
"Motor rail,"
Gavin clearly glared at her making. It's half an hour in the morning. Take a good look, half an hour in the morning! It's crazy that Kalea asks her to wander the road on a motorcycle!
"No." Reject raw.
"It's on the bike" whined Kalea, wiggling Gavin's arm while putting on a face.
"You've only just recovered, Kal. I don't want you to be sick anymore."
Hearing that, Kalea immediately threw out Gavin's hand and sat on the edge of the mattress and folded her hands in front of her chest.
"If you don't ride a motorcycle, don't ride it!" sulking.
For a few seconds, Gavin could only be silent while staring at Kalea in confusion. Actually, why is Kalea? His behavior is really strange.
Okay, Gavin's just happy that she wants to sulk again at him, because that means there is still at least a little chance for him to be forgiven for the mistakes he has made. But if it was like this, he also became confused himself.
"Would you ride a motorcycle or not?!" tanya Kalea was a bit stiff.
Reluctant to start a commotion on the first day of seven short days, Gavin nodded his head then put the car keys back on and switched to taking the keys.
"Come," Gavin reached out to Kalea, but the woman ignored her helping hand and walked away first.
"Why are women so hard to understand, Lord?" muttered Gavin before catching up with Kalea who had disappeared behind the door.
