Holy Prison

Holy Prison
PS 65 - The Last Problem at the Lodge

Four years later.

Now I was in the caretaker's room with a situation that was not much different when I first came with all the hatred that I began to be afraid to leave. Not just this manager's room. There is my bed room is still the same, after a few days after I returned to this boarding school I just found out that the name of the room is Al-Hafsah.

Does anyone know why the name of the room is Al-Hafsah? I'll tell you a little bit about the owner of that good name. Briefly. Hafsah was the daughter of Muhammad's friend Umar bin Khatthab. She was one of the wives of Prophet Muhammad, she was the widow of a man named Khunais bin Khudhafah bin Qais As-Sahmi Al-Quraish who died during the Battle of Badr.

I can only smile when I remember those times. The times when I really did not understand the meaning of being close to my Lord. The times where I kept blaming my destiny were thrown into a boarding school that I once called prison. The times where I just wanted to leave due to a misunderstanding that I so regretted.

"As-salamu'alaikum, Ms. Nindy, Afwan I'm late. I'm Umi's representative from Ummul Kulthum's room." a santri princess entered the room. It is true that I called the santri representatives from all the rooms, all the representatives had come except the representatives from Umm Kulthum's room.

I nodded with a smile as I saw the look on her tense face. I told him to sit down. He's very scared. In my heart I laughed, why is it that every santri who enters this room has an anxious face. Maybe for him this room is the same as the room BK. So, I cursed him.

"Look, I'd like to remind you that tomorrow it's your room that's rotating. And I want you to have divided each child one juz. So, when the santri has arrived here they already know their respective duties and no longer need to make a rowdy question his part. I can trust you, right?" my many.

After Umi nodded in understanding, she immediately said goodbye, gave her greetings and walked out of the caretaker's office.

My last job is done. Today I just replaced the manager who happened to be sick. I went back to my room. When I met the other santri they greeted me and I greeted him with a smile.

"Mr Nindy, I want to say something" Farha said. He's still my best friend.

I took out all the contents of my closet and folded them one by one until they looked neat.

"I want to go home" he said.

"Going home? Is it not a waste of money to go home? We have another week of graduation." I said.

"I can't come to the show, Ma'am" he said. His face looks very sad.

My khataman uniform flower glove just fell out of my hand. What does Farha really mean? He's down next to me. I'm turning. And Farha's tears just flowed down her pretty cheeks. This is the first time I've seen her cry like this. He doesn't look like the usual Farha.

"Why you?" I asked, wiping her tears.

Farha suddenly hugged me tightly. His tears were getting louder, soaking the one in the stool just slid. My feelings are not good. Something must have happened to Farha. I rubbed his head.

"I just got a call when you die, Ma'am." one sentence stopped my hand from wiping my head.

"Innalillahi wa Innailaihi raajiun." I said slowly. My tears started to spill just like that as I closed my eyes. Farha wants to go home.

"I-I.." Farha could not say any more words.

"Udah Farha, you must be sincere. You who are patient, let us pray for him to be received with God. You have to be strong." I said. Trying to give power to Farha.

Farha was sobbing more and more in my arms. I rubbed it again. I kept trying so Farha could be sincere and strong. Farha is like my brother. I love him so much. Farha nodded in tears. Minutes continued to pass until I finally managed to ease Farha's cry a little.

I helped pack his things. Other friends helped. We're all quiet. No one wants to open a conversation. After Farha's things were put in bags and boxes. We helped Farha get the things to Abah's car. Abah could not drive Farha, so he told Ustaz Ridwan to take Farha.

Farha hugged me again. And my tears fell again. Although my tears fell but I hurriedly wiped them. I don't want to add to Farha's burden.

"I'm sorry, Ma'am, if I have the same fault" said Farha again. He's still sobbing.

"Udah, no.. I'm also sorry if I was wrong with you. Take good care of yourself. Don't forget to call me when you arrive. Greetings to the family there. Say sorry I couldn't come to your house." I said. Still with a hard-ass face.

Farha could only nod then hug me again. After that hug Linda, Arum and a few more that are currently not so important for me to mention. The car drove immediately. I wave my hand. Until that car actually left. My crying just broke. I can't hold back anymore. Arum and Linda hugged me.

One of my best friends left before graduation day which is just a few days away. Let alone a secret for tomorrow. But I'm sure there's a silver lining.

...***...

"Mbak Nindy, mending Ma'am who talks. I'm still confused" said Amel.

Today all the residents of Al-Hafsah's room gathered together as one except Nabila and Yati. This time we do not have a teaching schedule because Ustaz who teaches sick. So, we decided to take advantage of this time to create a children's meeting room. Many room children protest about the behavior of Nabila and Yati which is very disturbing santri-santri especially room children. So, this time I held a meeting forum to discuss it.

"As-salamu'alaikum wa rahatulli wa barakatuh." I started to open the meeting.

I am currently being poured. So, I was entrusted to lead the way of the meeting. Anyway, having this meeting was my idea. The purpose of this meeting was for harmony, because I received many complaints from the room children about the two students in this room. I don't want to let this happen. So, I feel like I have to sort this out before I leave.

I deliberately didn't invite Nabil and Yati, not because I was going to talk about them in the back. It's just that if the concerned come I'm afraid they will actually be judged while in the forum. I don't want Nabil and Yati to go down and hate the roommate. Let me talk to them later.

"Waalaikumussalam wa rahatulli wa barakatuh." all the santri of the room answered my greetings.

"Yes, yes, because our time is limited. You guys know what we're gonna talk about at this meeting?" ask me on all. Some nodded and some confusion.

"Well, I explained because some still don't know. So, here's the sisters. I got a lot of reports on Nabila and Yati and unfortunately it's all bad reports. So, I have this meeting to give you time to write down your feelings about Nabila and Yati in one paper. Include reasons as well. No need to give a name. Later the paper is collected." I said explaining.

"I hope you can honestly express it. Let me talk to Nabil and Yati. What I fear if left unchecked, will interfere with the comfort of other students. And after coming out of this meeting, I don't want to hear you guys vilifying them in the back." I said continuing the explanation.

After they all collected the letter. The sound of the announcement to go to the mosque was heard. Classes are turned to mosques. And we did the usual activities.

Tonight I read all those letters. Then the next day I started talking to Nabil and Yati. Fortunately after I approached them, they wanted to tell me what had happened from the corner of Nabil and Yati. Then I cleared up all their misunderstandings and advised Nabil and Yati not to disturb the other students just because of one small thing.

Nabil and Yatipun understood. After I spoke to both of them. They change. The children of the room who noticed the change in behavior Nabil and Yatipun were grateful and returned to accompany Nabil and Yati.

Problem solved.
