Mayra's Strange Attitude

I walked down the stairs, following Auntie's step which led me to the living room. Many times I tried to contact Mayra, but nil, the number remained inactive. Last time, my aunt panicked, and she asked me to see the police. Actually I'm hard-pressed to pass her request, because I don't know what to do. But I have no other choice, I just hope, my presence here is useful for Mayra.

"Where are you, May," I grumbled in my heart.

I put my phone back in my pocket, and then I walked over to two policemen who were sitting on the living room couch.

"Good morning, sir," I said nervously.

"Good morning, Miss. Where are Mr Damar and Mrs Julia?"

"Sorry, sir, they're out of town" I replied.

"Please call them. We want to discuss something very important, this is about__"

"Good morning, sir. You looking for my parents?" mayra was suddenly present among us.

My heart seemed to jump from its place, I was afraid that the police would suddenly bend it. Screaming at a glance Mayra's slightly tangled face, a smile still puffed up on her lips. May all be well, I hope so.

"Are you Miss Mayra?"

"Rubber, Sir. I am the daughter of Mr. Damar and Ms. Julia. Mom and Dad are out of town." Mayra sat next to me.

The two policemen looked at me, and then they looked at each other, probably reluctant to talk while I was still here. Without them asking, I got up from my seat, then withdrew with a feeling of anxiety.

I paced in the middle room. My cold sweat poured down to wet the clothes I was wearing. It's been half an hour, but Mayra hasn't moved out of the living room. What the hell is it?

I wanted to steal their talk, but the desire was in vain, because Mayra's house was very spacious. There was no chance for me to listen to a word they were talking about.

"Woi! Why you?"

I breathed a sigh of relief, as the sound of the bell ran through my ear. I did not answer, I looked at the smile that was engraved wide on his lips. If Mayra can still smile, it means that nothing bad has happened to her, I thought at the moment.

"Yahh even daydreamed. Why the hell, Ra?" Mayra shook my shoulder.

"Why did the police do it?" ask me without further ado.

"Mayra!" I ended with high intonation.

Honestly I'm so annoyed at the moment, I'm really worried and he thinks it's just a joke.

"Yes, yes, sorry. The police brought good news, Ra. They managed to catch someone who had once betrayed Papa. Kirana, I'm used to this, you don't have to worry about it. I'm gonna be okay!" Again I saw a smile on Mayra's lips. Whether it was a sincere smile, or just a fake smile to convince me.

"You have such a big problem, why don't you tell me, May? Well even if I can't help or provide a solution, at least I can be a listener so that your burden is slightly reduced." I said while sitting on the sofa.

"We are really close friends, Ra." Mayra was sitting next to me, "but not everything we can share, right? This matter is too privacy for me, I don't want anyone to know, including my best friend. I'm sure you understand what I mean, Ra."

I was silent for a moment, what Mayra said was indeed true. I did the same thing, hiding my personal problems, without even sharing them.

"Yes, May, you're right. But ... Why did you tell me last night? My arrival here was planned, definitely not a difficult thing to hide your work. But why are you showing it?" askaku.

"Sometimes tired of also keeping all that alone. I need a listener, and the only person I trust is you."

I was stunned to hear Mayra's words. From the tone of his voice, from the look in his eyes, like there was another implied meaning. But I don't know what, I can't touch him at all.

"Daniel called you?" mayra asked suddenly.

"Not yet." I'm shaking.

"He's gonna be late, Ra. Maybe it's the middle of the new day coming here" Mayra said.

"You know where it came from?" ask me quickly.

"Mmm no, just guessing. Don't think too much, Ra. I'm going upstairs, yeah, I'm gonna take a shower." Mayra moved on and left me without explanation.

I looked at Mayra's back that was getting away. In my heart I'm sure that Mayra knows something. Before the police arrived, I called Daniel many times, but there was no answer from him, but last night I had sent a message if this was my new number. I tried to be prejudiced, but hearing Mayra's words just now, my heart started to feel uneasy.

Seriate....
