The Past of Nadhea

"Caivan!"

The middle-aged man who was none other than Prawira, first opened his voice while expressing his surprise. He had not expected to see Kaivan in Nadhea's nursery.

"Om Hero." Kaivan smiled wryly.

"Father!"

Kaivan and Prawira chatter was paused by Nadhea's screams. Without further ado, Prawira went straight in and approached her eldest daughter. He sat down next to Nadhea while taking out the lunchbox that was stored in the bag.

"It's Papa bring the serabi, son. Hope you like it" said Prawira with a tone and gaze that is difficult to interpret.

In front of him, Nadhea also suddenly misbehaved. Serabi cake is his favorite food, from small to the present. In the past, it was only the snacks that made her feel better when her father took Luna for a walk and left her at home. After growing up, his father never bought serabi again. Ah, let alone snacks that in fact are not basic needs, for the sake of school only his father also rarely cares.

Now, suddenly the man came with a serabi, after yesterday-yesterday chose to go home and leave it alone with the waiter. What the hell is going on? A false hope? Or hope that can really be expected?

"Nadhea!"

"Emmm, yes, Pa." Nadhea gasps.

"You still like serabi, don't you?"

"Yes, Pa." Nadhea nodded. "But, I'm going to go to the bathroom for a second. I asked Kaivan to call Auntie, please" he continued.

"All right!" Prawira smiled as she put the serabi cake on the table.

"If that's what Papa came out first, you'd like to talk to Kaivan. Later, just eat it, it's still warm!" connect Prawira.

"Yes, Pa."

Prawira stepped out and changed the waiter who came. After closing the door, Prawira saw Kaivan sitting in the waiting chair. His gaze was slightly sharp, as if implying something unkind.

"Aunty isn't coming, Om?" ask Kaivan without further ado.

Prawira smiled wryly, then sat down next to Kaivan. I don't know what the status of the man is now, which Prawira obviously wants to tell him a long story. Understandably, at his old age he felt alone, there was no place to share.

"Since that day, I've only been here again. At first, I went home to handle a business that was almost down, and you persuaded Rania to visit Nadhea. But, it turns out the problem is more complicated than I thought." Prawira. "I was there for days for divorce" he continued.

"Divorce?" Kaivan looked in wonder. He can't guess who's getting divorced.

"Yes. Now ... I and my partner are separated" replied Prawira.

"There's a lot you don't know, Kaivan. And honestly, you shouldn't know. But, I don't know, Om has nowhere to tell a story. Of the many acquaintances that Om has, it is precisely you who Om considers worthy to hear. That's if you're willing."

Prawira stared flat ahead. The look in his eyes implied a deep sadness. Kaivan was a little worried about making it, who initially wanted to vent his irritation, suddenly softened and put a sense of pity.

"What story, Om?"

"Nadhea's biological mother was not Rania, but Wenny. We got married and lived happily, but unfortunately not for long. At the time of giving birth to Nadhea, Wenny returned to the lap of God. When my soul was young, it was very difficult to be a single parent." Prawira started telling stories.

"Rania is a close friend of Wenny. He helped me nurture Nadhea, sometimes also. When Nadhea was two years old, I decided to marry her. At first, he loved Nadhea. But slowly, the affection was lessened, especially when she was pregnant and gave birth to Luna. Although it grows in the same place, but Nadhea and Luna are much different. Luna is superior in every way. That's why, Rania increasingly ignored Nadhea, even I did the same thing. Because of stupidity, I was eaten by Rania's persuasion. I had the heart to cross Nadhea's name from the family list, also agreed to give all assets to Luna. Though, that treasure is not purely mine, there is still Wenny's right in it." Prawira paused his sentence. He set his breath that began to suffocate his chest.

"I'm so stupid, Kaivan!" Prawira lowered her head, hiding her teary eyes. Honestly, he deeply regretted his actions in the past.

Kaivan inched closer, then gently rubbed Prawira's shoulder. He was speechless, the explanation was shocking to him.

"I was a fool to abandon Nadhea like this. I was also stupid to spoil Luna too much, eventually she became an ambitious, arrogant, and greedy person. I was a failed father, Kaivan," Prawira continued.

"No, Om. There's still plenty of time to fix everything" Kaivan said.

"I persuaded Rania to be fair, but she was angry and determined to divorce. In her heart was indeed only Luna who was dear to her. Well, maybe it's better we split up."

"Patience is it, Om."

"I'm so grateful to you, Kaivan. Thanks to Darren, my business has been a little helped. Although later I can not give a luxurious house to Nadhea, but at least I am not in debt. That house I had to sell, Kaivan, share it with Rania. Now, we'll live alone." Prawira spoke again.

"In time, Om's business will be back to how it was" Kaivan said, trying to calm down.

"Hopefully so. Kaivan, thank you very much. Knowing you is good luck to me." Prawira looked at Kaivan with a smile.

Kaivan just smiled thinly. He was still in disbelief, someone who used to be full of prestige—even his gaze once made him tremble, now lowered his head in front of him. Is that as hard as the world? Is it that easy to turn things around?

"Did Nadhea know this secret, Om?" asked Kaivan a moment later.

"About Wenny already. But, for others not yet. I'll give you everything later. I'll also tell you about Luna's problem. Yesterday, I was lying" replied Prawira.

Kaivan smiled, "Thank God. Hopefully their relationship continues to improve" he said in his heart.
