Seeing Something

Suddenly silent atmosphere. Reyvan, Athreya, even Darren and Kirana have no voice. They just look at and try to string the most appropriate sentence. Although all this time understand that Kaivan is a person who sucks in education, but they do not expect if so far the failure.

"Kai___"

"Just be angry, Mother, if you need a slap. I deserve that" Kaivan said quickly.

"Kai, Mommy is not angry. Mother___"

"I'm a fool, unlike Reyvan and Reya who often take home charters and trophies. I can't be proud of, but I'm disappointing and disgraceful for Mother and Papa." Again Kaivan interrupted Kirana's words.

"Kaivan, don't talk carelessly! Mom and Dad are proud to have you. To us, the three of you are the same" Kirana said with a slightly high intonation.

"Kai___"

"I'm sorry, I failed to fulfill Papa's wish." Kaivan looked up and looked at his father. "I accept whatever punishment Papa will give me. But not today! I still need time to be alone" he continued.

Before his parents replied, Kaivan had turned around and ran to his room— on the second floor. Since his eyes had warmed up, that was why he chose to dodge. She did not want her tears to be seen by her parents and siblings. Enough of yourself and God knows.

After Kaivan left, Kirana approached Reyvan and Athreya.

"Son, for a while you guys don't discuss school, yes, because Kak Kai is sad. Let's keep him from giving up!" said it.

"Yes, Mother."

"You don't mind, do you, by Mother's request?" Kirana looked at her two children in turn.

"Of course not, Mother. I understand how Kai feels, '" Reyvan replied.

"I want Kak Kai to return cheerful as yesterday, Mother. I will do anything to comfort him" Athreya said.

"We can definitely entertain and make Kak Kai cheerful again as usual. Thank you, son for understanding. You guys are the best sisters." Kirana put on a smile.

"And Kai's brother is the best. Whatever the circumstances, for us he is the most perfect big brother" Reyvan replied.

"Rubber. I totally agree with Rey" Athreya said.

Kirana widened her smile," Yes already, now you're taking a shower, gih, it's late afternoon!"

"OK, Mommy."

After Reyvan and Athreya went to their respective rooms, Kirana approached her husband.

"Sister, what should we do? This fact must have hit Kai a lot" he whispered.

"Sister!"

"I'll talk to him" Darren said softly.

After his wife nodded, Darren stepped away and headed towards the second floor. He was going to meet his eldest son. Upon arriving there, Darren repeatedly exhaled a rough breath. Kaivan's bedroom door was tightly shut and he hesitated to knock her, fearing that her arrival would upset Kaivan's feelings.

After a long thought, Darren made up his mind to meet his son. He knocked on the door and called Kaivan over and over again. However, there was no answer from inside the room. Due to the long wait and Kaivan unable to open his voice, Darren decides to open it himself, which happens to be unlocked.

"Kai!" call Darren after his foot steps into the room.

"Kai! Where are you?" Darren stared into every corner of the room and looked for the whereabouts of his son.

However, it was not Kaivan's figure that he found, but rather the photo sheets that adorned the entire wall. Darren continues his steps and touches one of them, a photo that showcases the beauty of twilight by the beach. In fact, the object in the photo is very simple, only sand and loose oceans are then struck by twilight. However, for some reason the photo looks special to provoke curiosity of its original beauty.

Darren turned to look at another photo, whose object is equally simple—the roll of waves that have been broken and almost hit an empty bottle on the white sand. For the second time Darren admires the beauty of the photo, which was created by his own son.

"Is this really your future, Kai?" darren's mumbling.

Kaivan is different from his two younger siblings. Other than having a bad brain, he had absolutely no ambition to take care of his father's business. Her hobbies enjoy the beauty of nature and capture it in a portrait. A few months ago, he expressed his greatest desire, to climb a mountain. Darren would not allow it. According to him, it was very dangerous because Kaivan was still a teenager. What's more, the mountain chosen is Mount Rinjani. In addition to its location away from the residence, Puncak Rinjani is the fifth highest peak in Indonesia. Darren couldn't bear to let Kaivan climb there.

Darren turned his gaze to the table and looked at the DSLR camera purchased three years ago. At that time, Kaivan was still in the 3rd grade Junior High. Kaivan had a birthday and asked his father to replace the old camera he had bought with his pocket money.

Papa bought you the best camera. But remember, Kai, it's just a hobby. Your future is taking care of Papa's business. That's more reassuring than being a photographer. Papa believes you can.

I'm not interested in business, Pa.

You are Papa's eldest son, you will guide Reyvan and Athreya. Studying hard, Kai! You should be able to!

At that time, Kaivan's face was immediately gloomy. Although there was no rebuttal sentence, there was also no nod or smile.

This continued until Kaivan was in the 3rd grade of High School. Darren has always stressed that his future is a business, not a photographer. There was never any rejection from Kaivan's lips, but more and more he became a closed person.

Although happy to joke and listen to the stories of his sisters, but Kaivan never told about himself, including the experience while enjoying the tourist attractions. In fact, he always told a long story and proudly showed the results of his shots.

"Have my attitude been wrong all this time?" murmured Darren alone.

Then, he again remembered with the original purpose of— looking for Kaivan. Then he glanced in all directions and his gaze was fixed on the door leading to the balcony, slightly open. Darren gave a smile and immediately walked in that direction. Two seconds later, his steps stopped. Darren's gaze was fixed on something in the corner of the room. He was immediately glued to his place. The stuff Kaivan kept made it difficult for him to swallow.
