I'm Not a Wild Grass

I'm Not a Wild Grass
Nunik and Kiyano (POV Laila)

"Asalamu'alaikum!" The sound of greetings from the front porch simultaneously made me and the Conch turn their heads.

Before looking, I actually already know the owner of the feminine voice.

"Nunique! Kyah!! Miss you, Nun!" I woke up and screamed loudly while cupping the tiny body of my best friend in a tight hug.

Missed right with Nunik. It's been almost a month since we last met.

"God, il! Just a month without meeting, Lail's voice is getting louder!" Nunik spoke in my arms.

"Kangen knows, Nun! Geez! Especially next week you married, later I will not have single friends anymore dong!" I still miss my best friend, Nunik.

"Later Nun help find a future husband for Lail," Nun offers help.

At once I immediately took off my embrace to look at Nunik's shady face.

I intentionally scrunched my nose. Signs do not like Nunik's offer.

"Mm. no, deh. Thanks though. If you are the one who helps search, the most typical is not far from your Mas Aryo. Fossil humans all! Hihihi," I laughed.

"Yurk! Lail is that. The habit of giving strange nicknames to people. I told you once. If you give me a good nickname. There is a nash in the Qur'an. Surat al Hujurat verse 11.." began Nunik with his lectures.

Hurriedly I connected Nunik's words that have often been mentioned.

"Do not reproach each other and do not call each other with bad titles. The worst call is (call) the bad (fasic) after faith. And whosoever does not repent, they are the unjust." (Q.S. al Hujurat verse 11)

I finished reading the translation of the verse in the Nash al Quran to be quoted by Nunik. And Nunik gave me a look of wonder.

"That's Lail's a pussy!"

"Forgive. Kan Nun has often quoted that verse. Moreover, I have a superb memory. So I must have remembered, Miss Ustadzah.." I slurped in a proud tone.

"If you remember, it should be practiced dong, il.. Don't call people with bad calls anymore.."

"Lha? Fossil humans aren't good, right? That means antique. Antiques are valuable. So, that means it's a call that includes good dong!" I refuse to admit defeat.

"Seriously Lail had no thoughts of abusing Mas Aryo, hm?" Nunik stared at me fixedly.

Being looked at like that, I was being misbehaved. In the end, I roared the horse. Confess wrong. And Nunik I saw a long sigh.

"Hh.. Lail.. Lail. il still remember the Nunik story about the Children of Israel?"

Quibble. I caught a bad beat with Nunik's following lecture. Looks like my best friend felt my joke about Mas Aryo and the nature to his phosilane was passing. I looked down like a sleepy chicken after staying up late.

"Don't be like the Children of Israel, il. They have been given advantage by Allah over the rest. Many prophets have been sent, from and for them. However due to his vices, resulting in them being cursed by God, Nunik begins his talk again. And I still kept my head still while looking at the clutches of our interlocked hands.

"One of the vices of the children of Israel is to be content to argue and fuss over the good that has been called upon them.."

Deg.

'Adidaw! my address is all-out again this mah. Duuhh.so sorry to joke about Mas Aryo. Know that..'

Suddenly there was a voice behind me.

"Ehem! Ehem!" The conch suddenly cleared its throat and showed its existence.

'Nature! I forgot there was a conch. Means from earlier the conch worried about me being the object of Nunik's hospitality, dong?!'

"Ehh? Mm. Who is it, il?" Nunik suddenly ended his hospitality and asked the identity of the Conch.

My Netra then turned to the conch. And found out that my boss was giving me a slanted smile.

'Damn it! She fucked me up, for sure!' I glared at the conch with an annoyed look.

Seeing the brief interaction between me and the Conch, Nunik concluded.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Brother! Excuse me. Nun didn't realize there was a big brother. This brother is Lail's friend huh?" Ask Nunik politely.

"Wa'alaikum salam. It's all right. And yes, I am a friend of Laila. I'm Kiyano!" The conch extended its right hand, inviting acquaintance.

And I smiled. I was happy because the next second, I saw Nunik reject the offer of hand job from the conch. My friend even cupped his two palms in front of his chest in a unified position. A smile adorned his shady face.

"Greetings too, brother. Introduce, I'm Nunik. Neighbor Lail," said Nunik introduced himself.

"Nunik likes it! Don't go down that ah!"

I then turned to the Conch to reintroduce Nunik to him.

"Know Key, he's Nun. Bestie it's me!" Say it with pride.

"Key? How did Lail call him Key anyway, il? His name is Kiyano, right? Did Nun hear wrong? That's Keyano's name, brother?" Nun asked the Conch.

'Nature! Mouth slumped again. His brain must also be too smart and curious (curious) now!' my mind feels precarious.

And, the answer from the conch's mouth later, finally got me a verdict from Nun.

"Well.. This Laila, don't know why, give me my title The Conch. So he called me Key more often (for Keong) than Kiy (Kiyano)," said the Conch.

'Damn you, Key!' I cursed while returning to glare at the Conch.

But my plot could not save me from Nunik's hospitality in the next second.

As a result, I also have to admit defeat and also wrong. Nunik also made me promise to no longer call Kiyano with the call of Keong. And I also took her.

After being satisfied to see me lectured by Nunik, the Conch, uh, Kiyano said goodbye. After that, Nunik and I continued our kangen free event inside the house.

It turns out that Nunik's arrival this morning was to deliver the kebaya bridesmaid that I will wear next week. I was asked to accompany her throughout her best day. And I'm in agreement.

"God willing, il. always include the phrase 'God willing' in every activity and promise that we will make. We don't know if we can really do it or not. What if we die first before we make a promise? we have promise debt, right? The debt has to be paid, il. Especially the validity period until the afterlife there. Hii.. spooky!" Oceh Nunik is back.

And I also returned to being a vegetable chicken that can only nod when hearing the hospitality of my friend.

During the day and evening, I talked to Nunik. I told her all the important things that happened in my life over the past month. Including my concern about the conch's feelings, uh, Kiyano towards me. Or even about Erlan's sudden departure.

Oh yeah, I accidentally skipped the part about my kisses with Kiyano. If Nunik finds out, I should get his talk again!

"So that guy was in love with Lail?"

"Yes, Nun. But I do feel how that is. I also confess my feelings to him. But I don't know why I feel that there is something stuck in my heart, Nun," I complained to Nunik.

"Is it because of her widower status, il?" Terka Nunik is so precise.

I nodded while breathing.

"Hh. yeah. Don't know why. I feel that Kiyano still has the same feeling as his ex-wife. Feeling I said that, Nun."

Seeing my face that was in a state of turmoil, Nunik just grabbed my hands and then grabbed them. Next, he continued saying.

"Laila, Nunik can not give advice to Lail to cutusin related to Kiyano or not. Because Lail must be able to judge Kiyano better than Nun."

"Nun can only give advice. Follow your heart, yeah, il. And many draw near to Allah. For Allah is All-Knowing. Ask God for answers to the doubts that Lail is feeling right now. Pray to Allah. Ask Him to show Lail the best mate among the best."

"Nun was once worried about receiving the expression of love Mas Aryo. I doubt that, il. This is Nunik's soul mate, isn't it? But continue Nun multiply prayer istikharah. Nun asked God for an answer. Until finally Nun suddenly felt steady and accepted Mas Aryo. Bismillah, we also insya Allah ready to hold a marriage contract next week," said Nunik at length.

I looked at Nunik's face with a faint feeling. It is still difficult to understand with the sentence 'saying Allah' earlier.

"Your term is so funny, il! Seduce God! Feels like a seductress dong you! Hihihi.." I giggled amusedly.

"Hush! Lail! Seriously, he was joking. Nun means the point, Lail multiply his worship. Let God love Lail. So later God will show Lail what Kiyano is a good man for Lail or not. That's what Nun means!" Omel Nunik's.

And I still haha hihi when I remember the phrase 'call to Allah' earlier.

However, Nunik's following sentence made me choke on my own laughter. Because suddenly Nunik asked.

"Lail has not helped her prayer?"

And, my laughter stopped. Replaced by the look of shame and the grin of the horse that adorns my sweet face.

Nunik just sighed while shaking his head, many times.

"Lais.. Leroy.."
