"Show yourself right now, intruder! I know, you're still in this room. You also seem to have turned off the electricity, don't you?" Said Azki back in her dark room.
I'm still silent. Waiting for the next action of help that has come. Maybe Laila's waiting out there, too. Thinking of that woman's sweet face, my heart warmed up.
I didn't think I'd see Laila again. After our farewell years ago, I thought I'd never see Laila again.
Back then, I had handed Laila over to Erlan. And I'm sure, Erlan will definitely ensure my Laila's happiness. Ah. nope. He's no longer mine. Laila now belonged to Erlan.
My heart again felt pinched when it realized this one fact. Even though I had given up on my feelings for Laila, even I also continued my life back with Bella. But I still can't erase this feeling just like that.
Even to this day, my heart still thumped hard every time our eyes met.
I still love Laila, even though my love is no longer what it used to be..
A lot has happened during our seven years apart.
Flashbacks
Six years ago, Bella and I finally got back together. The real reference.
I decided to forgive Bella's mistake. And resumed our relationship as husband and wife.
I joined Bella in her time lying sick. Until when the doctor stated there was a good development shown by Bella, I was also happy with her.
We visited an orphanage. And Bella expressed her desire to babysit a girl who was only five months old.
According to Bella, the baby looks a lot like me. That's why she wanted to adopt the baby girl.
I followed Bella's wishes. Even when Bella gave her the name Lala, I agreed. I suggested the name Kyla. The abbreviation of the names of the two of us, Kiyano and Bella. Bella insists on giving her the name Lala. I don't know for what reason.
After adopting Lala, Bella's health gradually recovered. Even though we still have to undergo chemo therapy and transfusions several times.
Seiyanya Bella became more excited to live her day with the crying and babbling Lala in our house. I began to think of Lala as my own daughter.
One year later, that happiness stopped. When Bella's health condition suddenly decreased dramatically. He lay back on the bed all day.
And I was getting more anxious when Bella started falling asleep more often than waking up.
His condition was worsening every day. Bella breathes her last in the hospital one morning.
I clearly remember Bella's last message to me the night before her.
"Adek apologise, Mas. For all the mistakes Adek. Please Mas meridhoi Dede as Mas's wife. Adek tipped Lala yes, Mas. Please take care of her like our own daughter. Adek hopes he can be a child of prayer when he grows up.." so Bella said to me.
I also still remember clearly, how at that time I could only accept Bella's last request. I didn't know that it was Bella's parting sentence before she closed her age the next morning.
Flashback complete.
"It's still hiding." My daydreams broke when I heard Azki's voice back in this deep darkness.
I see it around me now. And I realized that I was in the house where Azki was hiding Laila's two children.
I put my eyes on the window. And my mind immediately gasped as soon as I saw the muzzle of the gun pointed at Azki.
Not long ago I was excited to see the gun behind the window, when suddenly the sound of a bullet whirring broke the silence of the night.
Dashing is!
"Armgh!" I heard Azki screaming in pain. I heard something falling too. With lightning I peeked towards Azki, and I cheered when I realized that he no longer had a gun in his hand.
Our sight was locked for a moment. Before finally our eyes were back on the gun that was now lying not far from where I was at this time.
Azki and I jumped in to get the gun. And I managed to be the one holding the gun.
But then Azki ambushed my body and tried to snatch his gun back. We both wrestled pretty fiercely. My one hand holding the gun was held by Azki. While my one free hand tried to escape from Azki's hand. Azki's position at that time was above. It hit my body.
When I started to feel tight because I couldn't breathe, my hand was trying to release Azki's giggling, then hit the young man's stomach with all my might.
Bugh. Bugh. Bugh.
I hit Azki so many times, that the giggles on my neck were released.
Without wasting any time, I just kicked Azki until he finally fell backwards.
I rushed to my feet and pointed the young man's gun at the owner of the gun.
"Shut up! Or I won't hesitate to shoot you!" I threatened Azki.
Azki looked at me hatefully while holding her belly which I had fists on many times.
"It turns out you, the look! I thought you were Darman. Her sister Laila," Azki said gasping.
I was also panting tired after wrestling with Azki just a moment ago.
I haven't had time to reply to Azki's words when the police team rushed into the house.
"Lift your hands up! You've been surrounded!" Shouted one of the policemen who appeared to be the leader of the police troupe.
"Thank you brother Kiyano, for your precious help! The rest, leave it to us to secure this suspect" the police leader told me.
I handed the gun I was holding to the policeman, saying.
"This is his gun, sir. I managed to get it" I explained.
"good. We'll keep the evidence of this weapon. As good as you are, you wait outside first."
"But the kids are on top." Kiyano reminded.
"Yes. We know that. There's another troop heading for the hostages. Waita minute!"
For a moment, the police leader listened to something through the earphones he was wearing. And I caught the alarm at the look of that cop.
The police then stared intently at Azki, who was sitting on the floor. I saw a grin adorning Azki's face.
"You're putting a vest bomb on the kids?!" The police chided Azki.
I was shocked when I heard the police say that.
Even more surprised when I saw Azki pull something out of her pocket. A small remote.
"Great right? This way, you won't be able to take the kids away from me. Because if you dare to take him away, I will not hesitate to press this button. And..The DUarr! We all will die together. Ahahahaha!!"
I shuddered in horror as I saw the cruelty flashed across Azki's face. It was unexpected that the man in front of me could turn out to be this cruel.
