"Can I take you home?"
Alya looked to the side and found that Rendy had stepped in and waited for an answer to her question.
Out of nowhere and since when did the man come, Alya was still speechless and immediately lowered her gaze. The view that feels ordinary, unlike his view on Ardi who is always filled with the vibration of love in his heart.
"Can?" asked Rendy back to confirm the answer from the woman.
Alya who was still thinking about the events inside the Aura treatment room earlier, finally nodded and accepted the offer from her good friend.
"Thank you, Al." Rendy smiled and steadily stepped next to the woman she loved.
They got off in the elevator, then walked again to Rendy's car which was parked next to the main door.
After finishing his work a while ago, Rendy accidentally moved his car closer because he wanted to pick up Alya who he knew was still in the care room of Ardi's little daughter.
In the car he had driven at medium speed, Rendy noticed Alya who had been silent since then without a word.
"Al, I'm sorry for my attitude and words last night that may have offended you and made you condolent to me." Rendy starts the conversation by apologizing to Alya.
She did not want Alya to stay away and keep her distance again, after what she said last night about her discomfort when she saw Ardi together with the woman beside her who had been looking out the window.
"Honestly I was afraid of losing you, even though I was aware that you and I had never had any relationship apart from this good friendship, Al."
Rendy begins to express her apologies and regrets that have kept Alya away and shied away because of the honesty she said last night.
Their meeting this morning in front of the elevator, seemed stiff and back as far as before. Previously Alya had even avoided meeting with her and chose to set off on her own to the hospital without waiting for her to pick up as usual.
"I won't interfere with your time with Doctor Ardi, but please forgive me and allow me to keep you company as before."
Rendy stopped the car at the intersection because the traffic light was on red.
"I beg you, Al. Don't avoid me again like this morning."
Alya seemed to take a deep breath and exhaled slowly to dispel the tightness that still controlled his heart.
Her feelings branched out, on one hand she listened to Rendy's request and on the other she still kept thinking about the incident she had just experienced with Ardi.
"I don't want to give you any hope that I can't live up to. I'll feel more guilty if I do."
Still pausing while waiting for the green light to light up, Rendy looked at Alya and tried to convince the graceful lady beside her.
"Can I beg you one more time, Al? I'm used to being with you and I'm happy about it. If you change, I'm afraid of losing that happiness ...."
Alya noticed the green light that had been lit brightly in the dark traffic and Rendy immediately looked back to the front and drove her car.
"I can't promise you anything, Ren. And all that you said last night has made me realize that all this time I've made the mistake of giving you a gap that can't possibly enlarge let alone open."
Not long after, Rendy's car was parked in the yard of Alya's rented house which was not far from the hospital.
Opening the glass on both sides and turning off the engine, Rendy still seemed to want to continue their unfinished conversation.
"Is this because of him, so you want to do it, stay away and avoid me again like you used to?" rendy asked the responsibility with the presumption that was in his mind.
Alya shook her head quickly. He knew the man would definitely misunderstand his attitude.
"But your attitude towards me changed after he came to this town, Al." Rendy is still trying to find justification for her conjecture.
"I want to correct my attitude towards you because of your confession last night, Ren. Not because of his arrival or for any other reason." Alya confirms and straightens out Rendy's allegations that began to be mistargeted.
"I don't want to constantly give you opportunities that never really existed. Not just for you, but for the others as well" Alya continued with his explanation.
Her pair of beautiful eyes started to water. He doesn't want to hurt anyone, but he has to, so as not to further hurt the feelings of men as good as Rendy.
"Except him, right? The opportunity will always be there for him and you will only give it to him. Right like that, right, Al?" sahut Rendy with a high tone of voice.
The earthy bone doctor got out of control for fear of being neglected. His feelings now dominate, want to always be considered and a priority, although previously he already knows for sure how the condition of his relationship with Alya.
Alya was speechless with a face that was already soaked by crying. His head lowered with an increasingly guilty feeling to the man beside him.
"You know, I don't want him to know the truth about me, Ren. I don't want that to happen."
Rendy is not out of thought with Alya's decision that was ever told to him.
"Why, Al? Why did you do it? Close your heart to me and to others, but you yourself do not want to open your heart to the man you have always loved in your quiet heart."
Alya started to wash away the tears on her shoulder face. Suddenly the shadow of Aura, the tiny baby princess Ardi flashed in her mind, making her even more confident in her current decision.
"Let everything remain as it has been between us, for our story is only the past." Alya smiled despite the pain in her heart.
But remembering Aura's smile and imagining her laughter before she was sick, the woman forgot about the pain she felt and chose to put the two people she loved and loved first.
"May I know what your biggest reason is for doing all this, Al?"
Behind his admiration for the attitude choices taken by Alya, Rendy still cannot understand why the gentle woman always chooses to sacrifice feelings for the sake of others.
"There's more to her mind right now than just thinking about the past like me." Alya continued to smile at the thought of her lovely baby.
"Aura, his little princess. That tiny baby should always be his top priority right now. And I don't want to make his attention split from the princess, let alone his heart." Alya steadfastly said without a single hint of hesitation lingering in his heart.
"Let him continue to be happy with his beloved daughter. Seeing them happy, that was enough to be my best happiness."
