"Thank you for taking me home. Sorry if it always bothers you."
Alya stood at the door of her house. In front of him, as usual Rendy will make sure the woman goes into the house first, then she will pass home.
"It's been a long time and you still say it, Al." Actually Rendy did not like those words. But Alya could not be prevented and finally he just let it go.
"Let me keep saying it, Ren. As an expression of my gratitude to you who have always been there for me."
Rendy smilingly looked at the face of ayu in front of her who had already averted her eyes and opened the door.
"I'm going in first. Be careful along the way." Alya stepped in and stood facing outwards.
"definitely. I'll go home first."
After saying his regards, Rendy stepped away with Alya who was watching him silently before closing the door.
"Why not go in first, Al? It's been a long time since Papa's had coffee with him." Suddenly Papa was already standing at the end of the living room making Alya surprised for a moment.
"It's night, Pa. He needs rest too. It's not nice to be seen too often or watched by the neighbors" Alya replied calmly as she approached Papa and kissed the back of her hand.
"Once you invite him to sit on the porch first, so that Papa will meet him later," papa pinta then walked ahead of the princess snag into the living room.
"Yes, Pa." Alya could only smile and obey the request of the father, then walk after him.
Rendy has met with Papa several times. It started from the first time the man drove Alya home.
That night, Alya invites Rendy in and introduces her parents as her hospital coworkers.
Rendy knew herself, even though Alya's family welcomed her with open arms, she kept her distance and chose to go straight home every time after delivering the woman she loved to the door.
Only occasionally did he accept Alya's offer to stop by for a moment, just enjoy a cup of coffee and have a short conversation with his papa.
After cleaning up and resting for a while in her room, Alya came out to make a warm drink and chatted with Papa and Mama in the living room.
"So far, have you had any special relationships apart from your coworkers?"
Not usually Papa discussed about it, making Alya feel nervous to respond to it.
"We have been good friends for a long time. That's it, Pa."
"Did he never express his feelings to you?" It seems like the conversation this time will be more serious than usual.
Alya took a sip of his drink and waited for it to get even colder.
"Right, and I've rejected it." Not wanting to cover up from her parents, Alya also answered her nothing.
"Looks like he's a nice guy and very well mannered. Why don't you take it?" Papa began to be interested in listening to the story of the princess only wayangnya.
"I just think of him as a friend, even though we're on good terms and pretty close. I can't open my heart to her."
Mom and Dad were still waiting for the story. Ever since they decided to stay with Alya, they became accustomed to exchanging stories every night so that the relationship between the three felt warmer and tighter.
"We both failed in our households. It's not that easy for me as a woman to open up and start a relationship with someone I don't believe in yet."
Alya again took a sip of the warm chocolate that her cup still kept on holding.
"Is it because Riko you're still closing yourself up?"
Alya quickly shook her head and laughed her gaze over the room, staring at the white ceiling that suddenly displayed the shadow of someone's face.
"Until now I still regard Riko as my little friend, even though we had a bad past during the marriage hymn."
For the reason of returning the favor and maintaining their friendship, Papa decided without wanting to know first how the princess felt, as well as Riko's feelings for Alya.
"I don't want to repeat the same thing, marry without the feeling of love in my heart. I don't want to fail again, Pa."
Papa nodded and understood everything that his beloved daughter had said. This time, he did not want to force his will anymore, just because of his desire to quickly pet the grandchildren.
"I'm sorry for Papa's mistake, Al. Papa has failed to make you happy. Papa was wrong to marry you to Riko."
Alya placed her cup on the table and shifted her seat docked to the papa who continued to look at her with regret. Grasping the hand of the papa who has begun to wrinkle as well as his face.
"Don't talk like that again, Pa. Papa is innocent because Papa only meant to give me happiness. If it turns out that I'm not happy with Riko, it's because our destiny is so, it's not Papa's fault at all."
Mama smiled and patted her husband's shoulder to calm down. The doctor who treated him used to tell Papa not to feel depressed and too much thought because it will affect his health condition, especially with a history of the disease that was owned before.
"If it wasn't for Riko, would it be because of the man you loved first?"
My question is beyond Alya's expectations. He did not expect that his mother still remembered him, but he only told him once, when Papa decided to marry him to Riko on the basis of a proposal from Riko's parents.
"Is that right, Al?" ask Papa following Mom's question.
"Do you know?" Alya looked at her mother and saw the woman who had given birth to her nod. That means Mama has told the story to Papa.
"I'm sorry Papa was too selfish and didn't want to know about your feelings, Al."
Alya shook her head and tightened her hand.
"Forget it, Pa. Everything has happened and has become my life line that I have to live with sincerity."
"Where is he now? Are you guys still in touch?" ask Mama calmly.
Alya was silent for a moment, not knowing how else to answer.
"Should I tell you the truth about you? We have each other's lives."
Her memories drift into the past, where all the beauty and happiness she always felt every day, with someone she loved so much and also loved her just as much.
For a moment he was nostalgic about that time. A happy time full of cheerful laughter. A time where they have knit dreams about the glorious future they will achieve together. The time where they have designed the most beautiful wedding that they will soon realize and they both live forever.
But in reality, all was lost instantly as fate separated them in the blink of an eye.
"She's been living happily with her little family ...."
