Alya and Cindy continue their conversation in the examination room, while waiting for the nurse to deliver medicine to Cindy who is still prepared by the dispensary.
Alya's memories drift at the dark events throughout her marriage to Riko. There was not a single word and deed of the man that reflected himself as a husband.
There is only rude speech and arbitrary deeds directed at him. No exception when Riko snatched her chastity on the first night.
The bad incident left a sense of trauma in Alya. Plus the other violence Riko committed on her, creating a deep trauma in her subconscious.
'I'm sorry that I had to make the decision to report Riko for her actions." Alya glanced at his two feet.
Behind the clothes he was wearing, both legs were still wrapped in thick medical bandages to support his recovery process. The cast was removed a few days ago, just before Alya decided to go back to work.
"I just want to teach him a lesson so that after all this has passed, he can stop his bad habits and rude attitude."
Cindy nodded, she understood Alya's intention. He did not blame the woman for his decision.
"I don't want in the future you and your baby to be adversely affected, if he's constantly acting rude, even if not towards you."
Cindy looked at Alya for a moment, not expecting the woman to still think of herself and her future baby, after all that Riko did that might be possible for other women would never be forgiven.
"I'm really ashamed of you, Al. I'm guilty of letting Riko take me into your married life first."
Cindy looked down again to hide her already poignant and watery eyes.
"I should have stayed away and turned it down, so that your marriage could be repaired, instead of becoming more and more ruined by my presence."
Alya saw the change in Cindy's face despite trying to hide it. He moved his wheelchair until it stopped right next to Cindy in the opposite position.
His hand swung forward, touching Cindy's hand that was still on her big belly. The surprised Cindy immediately raised her head and forgot what she wanted to hide.
Alya smiled in front of the wife of her ex-husband. With her left hand touching Cindy's hand gently on her stomach, her right hand extended to a sweet face that had been soaked in tears.
Slowly he removed the tear grains that seemed there that actually made Cindy more moved and began to sob.
"I was disappointed and regretted your attitude. But I can understand your helplessness, because I know how arrogant and stubborn Riko must not want to be denied or rejected by you."
Cindy nodded again, confirming the graceful headscarf doctor's words. Because of her love for Riko, she could never resist whatever Riko wanted her.
"About our marriage that I finally decided to end with all the risks that I had to accept, it had nothing to do with you."
"Our marriage was not right from the beginning, not because of your presence or any other cause. We should have rejected it together, but we had no power to do it."
Alya remembered all the kindness of Riko's parents to her family, especially to her who had been considered like her own child by them.
"I can't argue with my parents' decision that I can't refuse the request of Riko's parents who want to marry us both."
"My family, especially me, owed too much to his family. I can't possibly refuse the deal of our two families."
Alya fused her hands together with Cindy's hands, still on the big belly that started twitching.
"We forget everything that happened. From now on, think of yourself and your child-to-be. And once Riko's free, take care of her and accompany her with your heartfelt love."
"Make your family a happy and loving family, so that your daughter can always feel the abundance of affection from both of you."
Alya returned the embrace just as tightly. This time, she could no longer hold back her tears. Just like Cindy, she cried releasing all the burdens that still stuck in her heart.
Their cries came to a halt as there was a knock on the door of the room. Soon Alya and Cindy let go of their embrace and both washed their wet faces by the roar of tears.
The nurse came in after Alya gave her permission with her voice still raucous due to long crying. He handed it to Alya, a plastic bag containing medicines for Cindy.
Alya gave it to Cindy with some messages about health for the pregnant woman and her content.
"If there's anything, don't hesitate to call me right away. Take care of your health and always do your best for your future baby."
Alya handed her business card to Cindy, then her hand touched the big belly again in front of her. Gently rubbed and said a sincere prayer in his heart.
"Thank you, Al. I don't know with what I can repay all your kindness to us. I can only pray for you, may all the blessings and happiness be with you, now and forever."
Alya nodded and thanked her, assuring in her heart all the good prayers from Cindy for herself.
After Cindy's departure followed by the nurse who accompanied her, Alya headed to the sink at the end of the room and immediately washed her face that was still red from crying for too long.
With a small towel he took from his briefcase, he dried his face and put his hands together, before moving back to fit into his personal ruanagn.
While tidying up his appearance to do the next task, Alya briefly imagined Riko who was serving his sentence in detention.
"I'm not sure if you'll change your attitude towards me after your sentence ends, but I hope you'll never bother me again, Rik."
Alya let out a long sigh to dispel the worries in her heart.
"Be a better man after this, for I have known you from childhood and I know that you are a good man, good-hearted and well-behaved."
For a moment Alya remembered the childhood of the two who often met because of the closeness of their parents. The woman smiled remembering the innocent face of little Riko who was always gloomy and looked at her full of dislike whenever they came face to face.
"I didn't expect you to keep all those unpleasant feelings until we're adults, Rik."
"I'm sorry, Rik. For everything or anything I've ever done and made you angry and hate me for it, I apologized as sincerely as my heart. I'm sorry, my little friend ...."
