LOVE NARA

LOVE NARA
2.44. ASA AND NEW SPIRIT

"Alya ...."

The elderly man called out the name of his favorite baby, his only daughter, his only child.

"Mr ...."

Alya splashed into the arms of her father who was lying with an oxygen hose attached to his nose and an infusion needle stuck in the back of his left hand.

For a while they dissolve in the warm, full-fledged embrace of longing.

Papa Alya rubbed his daughter's head with his weak hands, shouting happiness in the heart mixed with tightness in the chest.

"Are you okay, Al?" papa asked softly to make Alya pull her body from the embrace of the old man who was being overwhelmed with grief and regret.

"I'm fine, Pa."

Alya took the papa's right hand and kissed the back of his hand with reverence. A happy smile was returned by the smile of relief on the faces of his parents.

"Mrs ...."

Alya turned her gaze to her mother who was already standing beside her. Kissed Mama's hand and they embraced accompanied by earthy sobs of the two.

After being satisfied to let go of longing, Alya again stood facing towards the bed where Papa now asked to sit leaning.

"Why are you hiding everything from us, Al? Why not ask your parents for protection?"

Papa's question made Alya hold her breath for a moment. His voice was gone, his tongue was too faint. His mind was not centered and did not know what to answer.

"Sorry, Pa, Ma." Alya looked down with guilt.

"I just don't want to be a burden on Papa and Mama's mind anymore. I want Papa and Mama to always feel happiness, that's all."

Papa looks much stronger and calmer after Alya comes and looks fine without anything less.

Previously the old man was so surprised after his besieging that none other than Riko's parents, Alya's former in-laws, came and delivered the news following evidence about the actual marriage conditions of their children.

I don't know who did it, who seemed to have deliberately sent the document. Whoever he is, clearly read the intent and purpose is to expose the reality that has been covered and hidden by Alya and Riko from their entire family.

The reality of their married life is not working as it should. The marriage from the beginning was not based on the love of the two and only materialized as a form of their obedience to the matchmaking made by Alya and Riko's parents.

The marriage was filled with Riko's rude and light-handed attitude towards his own wife. Marriage is often tinged with disputes and fights every day without stopping.

And even worse, Riko still continues to be in a relationship with her old lover openly in front of Alya's eyes.

So long trying to survive in a marriage full of falsehood and injustice, Alya finally chose to separate after Riko also decided to marry her lover.

But it turns out, the divorce did not then make him breathe freely. Riko still continues to master it and hold Alya accountable for all that her parents have done for Alya's family, until Alya can realize her goal of becoming an obstetrician.

"If I may know, who did it?" Alya asked Papa and Mama.

"We don't know because it was all delivered to their family address. It was only then that her father came to the house and told us about everything."

Alya has not seen any evidence that has been received by Riko's family and family. But her siblings said they had their divorce papers and photos.

Photos showing the daily life of Riko and his new wife are also some photos obtained from the cctv recording at his rented house, which shows the true nature of Riko who is always rude and flirting with Alya and extorting the results of his wife's work so far.

"Why does he always ask for your hard-earned money during work? Shouldn't he be the one who gives you a living?"

Papa asked for water and Alya deftly picked it up and helped drink it to the father. When he finished, Alya answered his question.

"Riko said that the money was used as compensation for all living expenses and educational expenses that Riko's parents had given me and our family."

Papa's face looked down with sadness and regret. If only he and his wife knew Riko's true nature from the beginning, surely they would not be willing to accept Alya and Riko's match at that time.

"We have forgotten all that and expect nothing from you nor from your family. We sincerely do it and we love you very much too, Al."

Alya and her parents turned to the origin of the voice in the doorway of the room that had opened.

"Dad, Mother!"

Alya turned around and immediately approached Riko's parents. They hugged each other and shed each other's longing because it had been a very long time never again met.

"Pardon us for not being able to properly educate Riko so that she becomes a very arrogant and commanding child." Riko's father patted Alya on the shoulder making the woman start shedding tears.

"We did not expect him to be so rude and reckless to you. Forgive us, Al." Riko's mother continued her husband's words with tears.

Alya shook her head quickly and revealed a sweet smile amidst her cries. His heart was filled with a sense of haru for the attitude of both Riko's parents that made him condolent and increasingly feel guilty.

"I'm the one who should apologize to Dad and Mom, and Papa and Mama for not being able to look after and maintain our household. Forgive me for the weakness of my heart that chose to give up and end our marriage."

Papa's treatment room, which had been quiet before his arrival, was now crowded and filled with the sound of sobs all those who were inside.

"You did the right thing and made the right decision, Al. We support you even though we've been too late to find out."

Alya smiled and nodded, looking at them one by one with a relieved heart. At least, now he's not alone anymore. There are families and people nearby who support his decision.

A new hope was present in the heart of the woman. Asa to organize her new day tomorrow with her heart that is no longer dark and gloomy.

Now, there are many people who will always be his strength to end Riko's oppression to him and dare to act decisively against the man.

Alya let out a long sigh with a new spirit in her heart. The spirit to rise up and break away from the shackles of her past filled with grief and tears.
