On Nara's return, Alya stood up and took off her white coat and attached it to the back of the chair. At the same time, the door was knocked from the outside and opened by the nurse who was also about to return to the picket room.
"Good afternoon, Doctor." The nurse let Rendy in and then came out and left the door open.
"Are you ready, Al?" asked the bone doctor in a soft voice while standing waiting not far from the door.
Alya nodded and grabbed her bag then held a support stick to help support the left leg that had not fully recovered.
"I'm ready." Alya looked at Rendy at a glance then turned her gaze towards the door and walked slowly past the man.
Rendy smiled and followed the steps of the woman she loved to the outside of the room. They walked together towards the main door where the man's car was ready beside the terrace.
As before, Rendy opened the door for Alya and protected the head covered in the hijab with a palm spaced on it.
"Thank you," said Alya who was already sitting in the car as she tidied up the long skirt she was wearing and placed a stick next to her. He held a long-stropped bag that he always carried every duty, then took a cell phone from it.
Rendy closed the door and walked quickly around the front of the car and immediately got in and sat in the steering chair. Her face was bright and filled with smiles since coming to the clinic earlier.
Starting the engine and regulating the cold temperature in the car, the man tried to provide the best service and comfort for his special passengers this time.
He secretly stole a glance to the side, watching Alya's face that was in focus with the phone screen he was holding.
"Hopefully with the frequent together like this, can add closeness between me and you, Al. I won't wish for anything more, as long as I can continue to be with you, accompany you and keep you this close."
His heart trembled beautifully when suddenly Alya turned to him because of himself who never drove a car. Although it was only a glance and the woman looked back to the front, but the gaze of the eyes had already managed to make her misbehave herself.
"Sorry ...." Soon he melted the originally silent atmosphere and began driving his car out of the clinic yard.
The silence between the two was re-created all the way to the hospital. Alya busied herself with her phone and read some of the latest news today.
Rendy didn't want to bother him. After all, the woman must also feel tired because she had been working since morning in the hospital and then continued in the clinic and now had to return to the hospital again for afternoon practice until later in the evening.
On the way, the man stopped his car in front of a modern tavern. After turning off her car, she looked at Alya who was looking to the side.
"Wait a minute, Al. I'll buy you a drink first."
Without waiting for an answer from his interlocutor, Rendy immediately went out and approached the seller. After being seen saying his order, the man then sat waiting in one of the empty seats at the front of the tavern.
Alya watched from inside the car. Every now and then Rendy turned her gaze towards the car, making Alya immediately look the other way because she realized that the car's glass could still be see through.
After Rendy no longer looked at the car, the woman looked back at her. Although the appearance is simple like employees in general, it is undeniable that Rendy has her own charm with a polite and friendly attitude to everyone she meets.
Alya started to stare at the man. Wearing a thin striped shirt with navy blue combined with dark blue cloth pants, Rendy seemed to steal the attention of other buyers who are mostly women.
His charms were even more radiated when his straight hair was ruffled by the sweep of the street wind that hit. The sleeves of the shirt that folded a third part also made his appearance look more alluring.
"He was a good man, a good friend, kind-hearted and always kind. But why can't my heart be touched by all the goodness within her? Why is my heart still reluctant to open a gap for his presence?"
Alya continued to pay attention to the earthy doctor and tried to understand his heart more deeply. But all he felt was admiration.
"Must I force this heart to accept it? It may be that as time goes on, our togetherness will make my heart move and truly accept her presence ...."
The woman blinked and ended her mind when suddenly Rendy had opened the door and entered the car with a smile that always extended to her lips.
He showed two sealed plastic cups in both hands, containing fresh fruit juice that was inviting to taste.
"Apple it."
Rendy gave the glass in question following his suckling to the woman who owns his heart.
"Thank you" said Alya, accepting the man's gift.
Before continuing the journey, the two enjoyed the freshness of the cold drink for a moment without any conversation.
Rendy put the glass in the storage area in the middle, then prepared to return to the car. While Alya continued to hold her glass while occasionally drinking it little by little.
Arriving at the hospital parking lot, Rendy chose a place closer to the main door so that Alya was not too far away to walk because her legs still had to be supported with a support stick.
After turning off the car engine, the bone doctor finished his drink and asked for an empty glass in Alya's hand to be thrown away as he got out of the car.
After Alya handed him over, Rendy got out of the car and headed to the trash can on the edge of the building to dispose of the two disposable cups. Then he came back and opened the door for his special patient over the past few months.
Alya smiled as she thanked them as they stood outside the car.
"Come, we're in." Rendy's right hand opened and swung forward, allowing Alya to walk first and be followed by her next to the woman.
Actually Alya still feels awkward when having to walk alone with Rendy because many people will notice them inside there, considering both are specialists who are quite respected by many parties.
Until they reached the front of Alya's room, they stopped their steps simultaneously. Standing face to face right in front of the door, they exchanged glances for a moment before Alya first stopped him and lowered his head later.
"Thank you for your kindness today, Ren. Sorry if I trouble you again."
This is the third time Rendy picked him up and drove him home and away from the hospital to the clinic and vice versa.
Rendy shook her head with a smile that continued to adorn her cheerful face.
"Don't talk like that anymore. I'm so happy to do it and look forward to continuing to accompany you like this, Al."
