Jack Expels Arnold (Chapter 37)

Merry gave me her phone with her photo wallpaper with Hansen looking at each other. I was focused on seeing photos of them both.

Both look on with love. Merry and Hansen were so happy. Makes me smile too.

"Hey, you're welcome? Why even smile? Said he wanted to call Jack." Merry said to break my daydream.

"Oh yes."

I smiled awkwardly. I may have forgotten my main purpose of borrowing Merry's phone. Then I tried to contact Jack. But, it's not active. I tried for the second time. Still the same, which answers only the female voice saying 'the number you are going to is off or out of reach.'

It was so upset. I'm sure by now Jack must have been on the plane to come here.

"Veli, I'm sorry if I've troubled you. I was just worried about your condition until I called Jack." Merry clasped my hand tightly.

"That's it. It's okay anyway. You're not wrong anything. It's just, I don't want to worry Jack. That's all." My reply.

Jack has helped me too much. I don't want to trouble her anymore. He's been taking care of me for months. Right now, he must be busy taking care of his company. And I'm troubling her again.

"Aren't you going home?" I asked Merry. "It's already night."

"I'll get you." Reply Merry.

"What about Hansen?"

"There was already Bi Ratih accompanying him at home. We are both unmarried anyway. You should always be both." Merry said as he folded his hands on his chest. "Do you think I'm an unmarred woman." Further.

"You're coming back for the moon? Asked what answer." It was my words that made Merry laugh.

"Oh yes, until I forget. It's dinner time. I'm gonna go get you some healthy food to the cafeteria." Merry.

"okay." My reply.

Merry walked out leaving me alone in the room.

I stared at the ceiling of the room and imagined someone's face.

"Andreas, where are you?" I'm lirih.

The wall clock in the ward where I was being treated, shows at eight p.m., when Merry came in with bags of food and fruit and mineral water in a large bottle.

"Look at what I brought for you." Merry.

"What's that?" My toot.

"I bought you pizza." Reply the girl wearing the pink t-shirt smiled.

"The pizza!" Excruciate.

"Are you seriously giving this sick man a pizza?" I said while folding my hands on my chest.

"The pain is your head, not your stomach." Merry laughed.

Merry approached and started opening the pizza box. In addition to pizza he also brought fruit soup and other heavy meals.

While busy eating food, the ward door suddenly opened and displayed Jack's figure with a worried look on his face.

"Veli!" He shouted as he approached.

I was chewing food almost choked because Jack ran and hugged me.

"My God, Velicia, what happened to you. Why is your face so swollen? Your nose is turning blue too?" Jack rubbed my whole face.

My mouth, which was full of food, made my cheeks look swollen. Slowly I pushed Jack's hand away so he wouldn't hold my cheek. I then chewed the meat that was still in my mouth and swallowed it slowly.

Jack held my cheek again, pointing right and left repeatedly. After making sure my cheek wasn't swollen, Jack just took his hand off my face.

Jack's eyes were fixed on the spoon I was holding. He quickly took the spoon from my hand. Jack then scooped the meat vats that Merry had brought back and then fed me.

"I can do it myself." My speech.

"Be quiet. Let me feed you." Jack.

"The pain is my nose, not my hand." My protest was against Jack while pointing at my nose that had been plastered by the Doctor.

Merry laughed at my behavior and Jack who argued was just a matter of bribery.

"Hahaha, you guys are still like you used to be. Always arguing with things that don't matter." Merry said with a laugh.

Since long ago, Jack and I have always argued only because of trivial problems. I remember when I fell down from a bike ride. I cried because my knee was injured, so Jack carried me to take me home.

We argued because one week he wouldn't allow me to walk and eat by myself. Jack takes care of me like a baby brother. Jack is the best brother I have ever had.

"Oh yeah. Now I want to ask. What the hell is going on with you? How did you get hurt like this?" Jack asked as he continued to bribe me.

"You better ask me." Merry was chewing pizza.

"Explain everything in detail." Decide Jack.

Merry began to explain all the chronology that happened until I got hurt like this.

"It's all because of Arnold. He's in charge of Velicia's condition." Merry.

"That man is so insolent. Velicia until suffering from cancer was also caused by him. Now Velicia got hurt like this as well because of him. I will not forgive his actions. Just look at." Jack said so emotionally that he unknowingly broke the plastic spoon he used to feed me.

"Khem... Khemw..." I deliberately cleared my throat while playing my eyes towards the hand of Jack who was holding the broken spoon.

Jack looked at the broken spoon, then smiled awkwardly.

"Hehe I didn't accidentally." Jack.

I just smiled and nodded. My dinner continues by starting to munch on pizza with Jack and Merry.

"I'm out for a minute." Jack said after we finished our meal.

Ten minutes later. In front of the door of the ward where I was being treated, there was a noise. Merry and I looked at each other. Out of curiosity, I asked Merry to check it out.

Just as Merry got up and was about to walk away, the door opened wide and displayed the figure of Arnold standing looking at me.

Arnold walked over, but was quickly prevented by Jack who pulled him out of my room.

"Take me off. I want to see my wife." Shouted Arnold.

"Which wife do you call that. There is no wife here. You're no longer her husband." Said Jack with a loud voice.

"Velicia listen to me, I'm sorry." Arnold shouted with the look of his eyes staring at me.

"Go from here. Don't let me call the security guard to get you out of here." Jack.

"I won't leave before explaining and apologizing to Velicia." Arnold.

"Once again I say, you have no right to see Velicia. You're not her husband anymore. And you have no right to receive forgiveness from him either. Did you forget what you did to her? You've made him suffer until he has a deadly disease because of you. Now you hurt him again. What kind of man are you?" This time Jack's voice sounded so angry.
