19. Starlight Mall

This morning at Adam's house.

Claudia came out of her room towards the dining room with a smile on her lips and looked so cheerful. Adam who was in the dining room as well, in the chair where he usually sat, noticed the arrival of Claudia. But he did not comment because, he remembered himself having made a mistake last night.

Claudia then sat down and began to enjoy the breakfast that was indeed reserved for her in the presence of Adam. He thought about asking Adam for permission to go with Endra to buy a present.

"Mmmmmmh.... Claudia because it's Sunday, you and I are both on vacation. What if you and I go out, just for shopping or sightseeing." Adam Say.

Claudia who was down from eating suddenly raised her head and looked at Adam with disbelief. His face immediately turned full of joy.

"really? Aye, yes... I want to go shopping, too." Claudia replied with a smile that made Adam feel so happy in his heart.

The face of Adam who sumringah signifies that he is indeed so happy but Claudia is not aware of it.

After finishing breakfast, Claudia and Adam prepared to go shopping. In the car, Claudia was busy texting Endra. The man advised Claudia to buy some kind of item. But Claudia herself knew that the man she wanted to give her a gift already had everything, because this man was very powerful. So Claudia was still thinking, what gift should she be able to give to Adam.

Adam was busy staring at Claudia.

'When will our relationship be like that? When can you talk to me casually? Laugh, smile, we can talk all day. You sent me a message, a message with me. Will it all happen?'

Adam seemed to keep thinking.

'What should I buy for him?' Ask Adam in his heart.

Adam also wants to buy Claudia something as a sign of apology for the mistake he made.

The car stops Adam leaving first, followed by Claudia.

Claudia realized that they were in front of Starlight mall. Claudia then stopped walking. Realizing that Adam immediately approached Claudia and whispered in her ear.

"I'm sorry for what happened that day. I did act irrationally because I was angry with you at the time. If I am angry, I can act irrationally. But honestly I didn't mean to do any of that."

Claudia was standing by the car. Adam who was standing close to her whispered in her ear made Claudia retreat and her hands rested on the car. Claudia wasn't ready to get into that mall.

"You're the one who banned me from entering that mall again." Claudia said without seeing Adam.

He recalled the incident that day, where he had been blacklisted so as not to enter the mall again. Claudia was angry, and disappointed.

"Alright I admit, I did throw you out and blacklist you from this place. But this mall is yours. How could I blacklist the owner of the mall myself. There's one you can throw me out of here."

Claudia didn't even look at Adam, her gaze pointing to the floor.

"Claudia, I never apologized to you about the incident. But I really wanted to explain to you what happened that day. I actually walked into that store to buy you perfume." Adam said.

Adam's words made Claudia seem incredulous

"I'm not lying, you can ask Naomi. I asked her how you taste about perfume. So I went in there to pick a perfume for you." Adam continues. "And yes, the woman was with me because we intended to visit the mall. He was with me because he was my secretary. I saw the perfume and wanted to buy it for you, but it was already paid for by someone else. So I called Naomi to ask her about other options. But the moment I saw you, I rushed to snatch the perfume. I'm not fighting with you to defend that woman or I want to save her from you. I don't even care about him. He doesn't mean anything to me. I fought with you over that perfume because I wanted to buy it for my wife." Adam said at length.

Claudia remained silent.

"And the incident that happened at the restaurant was the same. Trust me, I also wanted to stop the childish attitude he had towards that servant, but you came first." Adam continues.

Adam now held onto Claudia's hands with his hands and then stood at a very close distance before Claudia.

"Please Claudia, I'm really sorry for all the incidents that happened between the two of us, and also for the events that yesterday I'm sorry for. I thought that you just wanted to prank me. Claudia please, I want you to forget some of the incidents that have happened between the two of us since my arrival here. I brought you here to buy you something as a sign of my apology. Trust me, that I'm not the man you think I am but the fact that I didn't act that way and made you think that I was. I know you've never been happy with this marriage. I also know you never want to get married. You also want a divorce because you have distrust. I know you don't believe in marriage and other relationships. I already know everything. In these three months I have a mission to discipline you, and make your future secure before we part. And you yourself also have a mission to show me that you can learn better to guarantee your future. You can achieve the goals and career you want, so you have to prove to me all that as a condition of our divorce. But between all those things, can we both forget about some of the incidents that have happened before. Don't you think that we're both always involved in whatever it is. Please Claudia." Adam Say.

Claudia tried to listen to all of Adam's words calmly and with a cold head. He wanted to end the war between the two. Because that's what he's been doing these past few days.

But Claudia was Claudia, she didn't want to accept what Adam said.

"Can we go shopping now? We're too late." Claudia said as she pushed Adam's body away from her.

Adam smiled and fixed his position on his feet and followed Claudia into the mall but Claudia stopped him.

"You go where you want to go and I can go anywhere I want. I'll call you when I'm done." Claudia gave her advice and was approved by Adam.

Adam smiled and walked alone.

An hour later, Adam is seen talking to the mall director. He had already bought a beautiful earring for Claudia. Adam is very happy because Claudia agreed to the advice given by her to go shopping, which means Claudia is already willing to stop their quarrel.

While chatting with the mall Director, there was a voice shouting people who were fighting and made Adam look at the voice.

Adam was about to call Claudia because it's been an hour. Adam wanted to know where his wife was.

Suddenly he heard the screams of someone so familiar. He realized that the voice was coming from the crowd of people.

"You motherfucker. Just kiss my feet." The scream was none other than Claudia, his wife.

Adam flinched, he then quickly stepped towards the crowd of people. Seeing Adam running, the mall director also followed him. When he arrived at the crowd, Adam saw his wife fighting with a man. And a girl standing next to them was seen crying. From the way he cried, people around can easily conclude that the cry was made up aka fake tears. The girl looks like she is acting. And Adam finally realized that the girl who was crying was Lisa. The girl who had hated Claudia so much.

As Adam looked at Lisa he did not realize that his wife was being pushed by the man and almost punched him in the face.

"What the hell is going on here?" Adam Shouted.

Adam's shout sounded terrifying and very intimidating. Even Adam's screams made the mall's director shocked and scared. As well as the people who were in that crowd, they all felt fear except for a girl.

Claudia rubbed her face and was about to greet her husband, but she was blocked.

"Ahhh finally...."

Noticing the presence of Adam standing before Claudia, Lisa walked over to Adam.

"Hi, Mr. Adam, I'm Lisa. I'll tell you the real incident. Actually, I was choosing an expensive tie clamp in this store, until finally he came...." Lisa's words came to a halt as Adam raised his hand.

Adam gives a sign to Lisa to stop talking even Adam's eyes did not look towards Lisa instead he looked towards his wife who was seen lowering her head. That made Lisa even more of a story. He makes and tells stories full of lies. He kept talking about the school getting to know Adam closely.

When Claudia realizes that Lisa is no longer talking. She lifted her head and looked at her husband then she looked at Lisa and turned to look at her husband again. Adam himself could only see what his wife was doing.

"What's going on?" Adam asked in a very soft voice to his wife.

Claudia felt so happy from the inside. She actually doesn't like to show off the power she has, but if it's in Lisa's presence, she can do anything. Claudia then looked no further at Lisa and looked at her husband.

"He lied. Actually I was the one who chose the tie clamp first, even asked the shopkeeper to wrap it for me. Then I went to the break room for a while. When I came back, he asked the shopkeeper to wrap the tie for him. I didn't start the fight today but he made it hot by saying bad things to me. When I replied she called her boyfriend and then....." Claudia lowered her head again.

Adam looked at Claudia. He had never seen Claudia acting weak or scared all this time. Adam knew that Claudia wanted to show her power to the girl he hated so much.

"Where's that tie clip?" Ask Adam to Claudia.

The shopkeeper gave Adam a box. Adam opened the box and looked inside. Adam raised his eyebrows as if asking who his wife wanted to give this tie brace to. Claudia understood and she used her most gentle voice and said to Adam.

"For you. My original plan failed, so I thought because we wanted to make a new deal then I wanted to give you a present too." Claudia explained.

Adam tried to hold back his smile. He was like a freshman who was fascinated by his wife's words.

'Did he really think about the deal or did he just come back to work on me?' Adam thought and sighed.

Adam was about to speak when, the mall director approached.

"Master, you can rest. Let me handle everything. Don't worry, leave it to me. Hey you come with me." The mall director said he was about to pull Claudia's arm out of the store.

But Adam immediately confronted him and threw the mall Director's hand away from Claudia's body.

Adam did not even take his eyes off Claudia as well as Claudia. She kept looking into her husband's eyes.

"Why don't you go pay him? Aren't you hungry, 'cause I'm so hungry. Now go and pay for this. After that we go to lunch." Adam said to Claudia in a foreign-sounding tone, where others had never heard Adam speak like that.

But Claudia had heard of it. Not just once but many times. Claudia is not used to it. Her ears and cheeks looked red, Claudia tried to avoid that feeling of shame but could not.

Lisa was shocked, she could not believe what she saw or heard.

'Since when did the two of them become closer and friendlier? Did the video of Adam's confession help him to attract Adam's attention? He offered his body to Adam. Is Adam the sugar daddy Claudia?' Lisa kept thinking.

Lisa then walked back and approached her boyfriend, but the man looked at Lisa with an angry look and then walked out of the store followed by Lisa who followed him quickly. As well as the other people inside the store, they looked surprised but were unable to say anything. Not a single word came out of their mouths.

Claudia walked to the cashier and paid the bill. The woman standing at the cashier looked very polite now to Claudia.

Adam looked towards the mall director and spoke in a very slow voice so that no one else would hear him.

"He is Claudia Wijaya, the owner of this whole place. I hope you remember that in your head. Whenever he comes here in the future. Even I myself am nothing because he is the owner of this entire place. So treat him like he should next time." Adam said firmly.
