21. Divorce Matters

That day at around 12:30 p.m., Claudia woke up from a phone call.

Claudia: "Hello, who is this?"

Caller: "It's me baby. Did you delete my phone number from your contact?"

Claudia's jaw hardened, the expression on her face was already irregular. Angry, worried, surprised and all.

Claudia: "What do you want? How dare you call me? Again, Calvin?"

Calvin: "Are you still angry with me? Well I'm not surprised, you deserve to be angry with me. But I really regret the decision I made, not just now. But I've been aware of it since last year. Honey, I want our relationship back. I want to apologize to you. Please forgive me. I'll be coming to town in two weeks' time."

Claudia: "I don't care. I don't want our relationship back, nor do I want you back in my life. So stay away. If you want to go back to this city, go ahead. You're a free man, I won't stop you. But I don't want you back in my life."

Calvin: "We'll see. I know you can't forget me. I also know, you can't love anyone else because of me. You're hurt and still stay that way. I promise you, baby, I'll do everything for you."

Claudia is getting upset, she disconnects the phone call and puts the phone back on the table.

Adam's been making Claudia study all day from morning until noon. Claudia was talking to Endra over the phone.

Claudia kept asking Adam if there was any other way to get them divorced. But as usual, whatever Claudia did in the end, she still felt disappointed. There is no other way than the divorce that was initiated by Adam. Although Claudia will file a divorce with the court, she will not be able to win against her husband.

Endra watched as Claudia was taken out by Adam from the campus building with her hands together. Then the next day, she invites Claudia to speak together in the cafeteria and that's when Claudia confesses everything.

Claudia opened the door of Adam's study room violently and went straight in without any excuse.

Adam raised his head after looking at the laptop, he looked at Claudia with an astonished look.

"Di, what's going on? I'm at work. Go spend your time with Nila or Jono." Adam said before bowing his head back to his laptop.

Claudia rolled her eyes. He then walked closer to the side of Adam's desk and violently closed Adam's laptop. Adam is still trying to be patient.

Claudia then turned Adam's chair to face him. Then he took out a paper that was a divorce letter and showed it to Adam. Claudia then tore the paper into two pieces. Adam looked surprised. For the first time in his life he breathed.

"Di... I hope you know what you're doing." Adam Say.

Claudia showed a face that was not joking.

"I'm very happy and I don't have a problem with that. But can I know, how and why?" Ask Adam.

"Because I don't need a divorce right now. I don't want to finish that three-month deal with you either." Claudia said with a face that looked visibly emotional and angry.

Adam remained silent and tried to listen to what his beloved wife was going to say.

"According to the applicable law, married couples who separated for 2 years or more are automatically said to be divorced. But I don't need your autograph anymore to get divorced. Because I am divorced from you. I'm not your wife anymore. If you're still meddling in my life or showing your boss's attitude, I'm gonna throw you out of my life."

The last word Claudia said made Adam laugh.

'Expel me? Well I'm gonna help him find the best lawyer in town to fight me in court. This girl is so adorable how can I control myself not to be crazy about her. This girl is so naive.'

"My dear, first of all for you to know, to get divorced automatically, married couples do not have to be separated for two years.3 months it has been said to be divorced. But all this time I've always given you a living. Although that does not include inner living. But at least I always meet all your needs. And you yourself have never had a problem with that. If only since the first 3 months of marriage you immediately filed for divorce, yes you might be able to win against me. But I can't guarantee 100% either. Claudia looked increasingly upset.

Claudia looked confused, her face implying that she was indeed in a daze.

"My three dear..." Adam stood up and stepped closer to Claudia.

Claudia stepped back to make him cornered by the table.

"The court needs evidence for a separation that I can't prove. What about you, my dear?" Ask Adam.

'Why does he keep calling me baby, my dear... And others.' thought Claudia.

Adam is very close to Claudia, where Claudia can feel Adam's breathing on his neck and face. Claudia felt her chest tight. His face was red, his heart was beating very fast. And the worst part was that Claudia lost the strength to push Adam away from her.

"And last, let me tell you this..." Adam said as he approached Claudia and kissed her.

It made Claudia feel like she had lost consciousness. Claudia dieting loses her body function to be able to move. Fortunately for Claudia, Adam's kiss wasn't too long.

"Since our separation, neither of us has done our duty as husband and wife. If you let me I want to do my job as a husband tonight." Adam said as he landed a kiss on Claudia's cheek.

Both of them are in such an intimate position right now. Claudia's feet stood on the floor but her upper body part, fully lying on the table. Adam lowered his head and placed his hands between Claudia's heads.

"So you better stay my wife or continue the deal we made in 3 months' time." Adam said before lifting Claudia's body to stand up.

After standing up, Claudia directly pushed Adam away from her.

"Why? Why don't you want a divorce from me? You know that I don't love you. You don't love me either. You have that Aunt Nadia and the other woman in your life. Then why? Do you want revenge? What do you want from me? Please tell me I'll do it. Just sign the divorce papers please." Pinta Claudia's.

Ada rubbed Claudia's head gently and and held onto a strand of her hair.

"You're my favorite little wife. You're too young to understand interest. And he's a nobody in my life I've never even looked at his face for long. But you can't understand. And it never seems to" said Adam.
