Merry Imprisoned (Chapter 16)

Arnold left because of Viona, he left because of his love for Viona which was great for the woman. What am I compared to Viona in Arnold's eyes. Even if I'm dying with Arnold right now, if Viona calls and says she wants to meet, Arnold will definitely choose Viona and leave me alone to die.

How ironic. Again, I am disappointed in myself. Why am I still so stupid? Why can I trust him? Is love really this million?

"Please help me Veli." Just hearing that voice I was already very anxious.

"Just tell me, what happened?" I asked Merry.

Merry's voice sounded vibrating. He sounds crying.

"I'm being held at Veli's police station." The answer.

"Whatchu mean? No kidding! What the hell is going on?" I found him with a few questions.

"I just found out that Viona hit Hansen. Viona did the hit-and-run. And now he's the one who got Hansen disabled and lost both legs." From Merry's voice he was very angry.

I don't believe what I hear. How could it all be so coincidental. Why did Viona have to be the culprit? What the hell is it?

"Then why are you being held by the police? What have you done?" I asked gently trying to make her calmer.

"I went looking for Hansen again, and I couldn't find him anywhere. I just found out Viona was an emotion. Everything that is happening right now is his fault. He's the one who kept me and Hansen apart. He's the one who's got Hansen disabled. Being emotionally burned, I went to look for Viona, and hit her." Merry said at length.

"Yes Lord Merry.... What have you done? Why are you acting this fast?" I said with high intonation.

I really can't believe Merry could do something this stupid. Because of his momentary emotions, he even did an act that would instead plunge him into more difficult things for himself.

"I'm sorry Veli, I really can't help myself. That woman is so evil. Not just to Hansen and me, but he's more evil to you. Thinking of everything he's done to Hansen plus what he's done to you makes me dark in the eyes." Merry's voice is now sounding weak.

I understand how he feels. The man she loves is injured and disappears for years due to an accident that leaves her disabled for life. And the mastermind behind it all is Viona.

I honestly myself every time I meet Viona, I want to grab her hair, even claw her face full of the charade. Really, that woman is really evil. Why would Arnold love a woman like that.

"Veli! Are you still there?" Merry's voice broke my daydream.

"Veli, it was Arnold who reported to the police to arrest me. Viona's lawyer accused me of manslaughter and now I'm going to jail. I beg you, Veli, just this once. Help me get out of this mess I made." Merry sounded clear.

I expected, Arnold would have set the body for the female fox. All right, I have to do something to help Merry.

"Calm down, I'll do something to set you free." I said to Merry.

"Thank you Veli. You are my best friend."

Phone connection disconnected. This time I had to prepare and strengthen myself to look for Arnold. I promised myself I would never see him again. But for Merry's sake, I'll do it all.

I stepped out of the room where I was being treated. I walked slowly to the room next to me. The room that was Viona's room, that cunning fox. Arriving at the door of Viona's room, I heard Arnold's gentle conversation with the woman.

"Darling, just calm down. I'm with you. Whoever tries to hurt you, I'll make them suffer." Gentle Arnold said.

Tight, I felt a very tightness in my chest. Arnold treated the woman so gently. But I was determined to forget it. So I can't look weak. I have to be strong in front of both of them.

I slowly pushed the door and entered. The two eyes of the couple loving each other were looking at me in surprise.

"Do you want to be here?" Viona's shout made her voice echo throughout the room.

"Viona, relax." Arnold tried to calm the woman down.

"I don't want to waste my time coming here. So I just went straight to the point. I want you two to drop charges against Merry. Get him out of jail right now." I'm firm.

"Hahaha are you crazy? Look what that crazy woman did to me." Viona shouted again.

I did see a lot of wounds on Viona's body. But it doesn't seem too severe, just bruises and abrasions. Not to break his bones or even make him handicapped for life like he did to Hansen.

"I know that Merry's your best friend. But you can't just defend her for what she did to Viona. Don't you see Viona's condition now? Your best friend deliberately ran him over. It's only natural that we report him on murder charges because he was indeed proven to have deliberately run over Viona." This time Arnold defended his girlfriend.

He did not know what kind of woman he was behind. But, what do I care. Let him be blinded by his own love. Most importantly now, Merry must be free.

"Honestly, I don't want to do this. But for Merry's sake I'd do anything. Arnold, I want you to release Merry. Otherwise I will also report you back for your actions that deliberately harmed me until I miscarried and lost my baby 2 years ago. I have a lot of evidence that could ensnare you, on the same charge. Attempted murder against me and also murder on your own baby." I said calmly but remained in a firm tone.

I don't blame Arnold at all for what happened to keep me from getting pregnant again. I used this excuse to get Merry released.
