42. Look at Megan

After being examined by a doctor. Adam holds Claudia's hand to take them to a patient's room.

"Where are we going?" Claudia asked confusedly.

"Go to the patient's care room. Megan's in the hospital and still in treatment." Reply Adam.

Hearing Megan's name being mentioned, Claudia said nothing and just followed Adam in silence.

Claudia continued to be silent all the way to that hospital room. As they enter, Claudia finds Will, Dom and Kim in the room.

Seeing the arrival of Adam, Megan immediately sumringah.

"Om Adam, you're coming. How's Om doing? Is Om okay?"

Adam takes off Claudia's hand and hugs Megan.

"Yes... Da... I'm fine, don't worry. Are you feeling better now?"

After speaking and asking how each was doing, Megan finally realized Claudia's presence.

"Ah Aunt Claudia, I'm sorry I was so worried about Om Adam that I didn't notice your presence." Megan.

"It's okay. I don't matter at all. By the way, how are you?" Claudia asked smilingly hiding her discomfort.

Adam was still sitting next to Megan's bed, and the girl was still wrapping her hands around Adam's arms.

Adam smiled gently looking at Claudia.

"Hey Claudia.... You're here."

Hearing her name being called, Claudia turned around and found Jolie and Nina standing at the door holding their coffee cups.

Claudia smiled, then hugged the two of them in turn.

"Where are you from?" Ask Claudia.

"Ah, we just went to buy coffee." Answer Jolie.

Dom and Kim join them.

"Hi Claudia, how are you?" Kim asked, hugging Claudia.

Likewise with Dom, he hugged Claudia adorable. Will also joined them all and swallowed his saliva.

"Hi Claudia, how are you? Your exams will start soon, right?" Ask Will.

Claudia was already used to it and felt comfortable while chatting with Kim and Dom. But it feels different to Will, Claudia is not so close to Will. Until he felt a little embarrassed while talking to Will, his face even reddened. Instead of answering Will's question, Claudia simply nodded. Will nodded and smiled at Claudia.

"Waaah bro, Will you're smiling, like a normal person thing. Claudia, you are magical. How can you make these two cold humans melt while you're next to you?" Dom joked and got a punch from Will on his back.

Suddenly the calmness on Adam's face disappeared. He immediately stood up from his seat and pulled his arm from Megan's grip and approached Claudia and the others quickly. He looks angry.

"Basically you bastard. Leave him alone, don't touch him." Adam shouted furiously while pulling Claudia away from the crowd of everyone and stared intently at everyone one by one.

Adam looked so serious about his anger. But all her friends saw her as mediocre, as did Jolie and Nina.

"O Lord Adam, you've been friends with us for so long. And you're acting like this to us just because of your wife. Claudia, you broke the bond of friendship between us." Dom started commenting, while Claudia replied with a small laugh.

Adam immediately looked towards Claudia, which made the girl instantly stop laughing.

"First of all, there's no problem with our friendship. But no one can touch mine. Not a single one. And secondly, to all of you my dear old friends. Where were you all last night when I was hurt?"

"Oh come. I was here last night with Megan. There must be someone else here to accompany him." Dom.

"By the way Claudia is, how's Adam's arm doing now?" Ask Will.

Claudia looked confused.

"Yes Claudia, how's Adam's wound?" Ask Dom too.

Claudia is confused.

'Adam is here, why don't they just ask him directly? Why should everyone ask me about his health?' thought Claudia.

Understanding Claudia's confusion, Nina began to speak.

"Claudia, you're his wife. People will ask about her situation and all the other things she has to do with you. Everything is like that. You don't have to be ashamed of that." Nina explained.

Adam immediately leaned his head on Claudia's shoulder while smiling mischievously. All of that eventually made Adam forget his anger at his friends.

"He's.... Hmmmmm.... I'm...." Claudia was trying to explain Adam's situation to everyone.

"Come on Nina, don't tease Claudia. How she knew her husband. Last night when we visited there, he fell asleep. Lying like a child, clutching her husband's chest." Will commented that made everyone laugh.

Claudia pinched Adam hard and looked at him in annoyance.

"And you keep letting me be like that in front of everyone? Why didn't you wake me?" Claudia said.

"Why should I wake my wife who is sound asleep from exhaustion for all these fools who come to visit in the middle of the night." Reply Adam relax.

"You're really not sane." Chirping Claudia.

After a moment of teasing Claudia, the men finally decided to leave the room.

"Darling, we'll be out for a second okay." Kim told his wife Nina.

All men do the same to their wives. Including Adam saying goodbye to Claudia. They then walked out of the room through the hospital corridor and into the smoke-free zone.

The four men started to enjoy their cigarettes.

"Did you tell him everything?" Ask Will.

"No." Adam shook his head. "But Will, I'll end it as soon as possible." Adam continues.

"Yes right. Once we're all done protecting his life, take out all his enemies. We can be free. Jolie must be happy." Dom.

"But Dam, you sacrificed yourself to block that bullet for him. Didn't Claudia say anything about it?" Ask Kim.

"I had to take that bullet for her. I had to kill all his enemies. I can't let him get hurt. I have to keep him safe no matter what. Because if she's safe, my wife will be safe, too. I could even sacrifice myself to take the bullet pointed at him in my chest, but I didn't want to risk my wife's safety. Until my wife's life is safe, I have to keep Megan from getting hurt." Adam Say.

The other men nodded at the same time.

"true." Reply Will agreed.
