61. Claudia's Explanation

Adam tried to forget the pain in his own heart when he looked at Claudia, because he felt that Claudia also looked so worried. Adam tried to calm Claudia down.

"Claudia I'm actually thinking about....."

"O Lord Adam, don't tell me you're thinking of something else. You actually think that I have a relationship with him, don't you?" Claudia cuts off Adam's words.

Claudia explained everything to Adam. He looks so frustrated and doesn't even believe that everyone is struggling because of one small mistake he made in the past. Adam was still silent. He didn't react to any of that.

Claudia sat down, kneeling on the carpet before Adam. He put his hand on Adam's knee.

"Dear, trust me. I was young and naive at the time. So I'm so easy to trust others. I don't have any feelings for him. I then realized that I was only interested in him, because for the first time in my life something like that happened to me. It all happened by accident. I never realized when I met him.

Actually it's not even interested, it's just my feelings back then, that's all. When I found out that he was a mobster and a criminal, I deeply regretted everything. A man who kills innocent people, ruins young lives, does illegal things, gambles and risks the lives of others and the future of others. I would never have any feelings for someone like that. Besides, it didn't take me long, even a week I was able to move on and forget about him.

Claudia kept talking. Adam did not cut his words. He actually thought that the two of them were related to each other. It was perfectly normal for someone to think that way because of how Sean behaved. He acted as if Claudia was his love.

Adam took a deep breath and made Claudia sit on the sofa. Adam then gulped only because of the nervousness in his heart he spoke.

"So you mean, you don't have any feelings for him? But at that moment he seemed to take everything so seriously with you?"

Claudia rolled her lazy eye, not to Adam but because of her frustration.

"No, not at all dear, never. Even if she doesn't give herself up, even if I don't marry you, I'll never fall in love with her. I don't think he's the kind of guy I'm dreaming of. Just think about it, I was still a foolish and naive young man but he was... He's a grown man 12 years older than me. Couldn't he have been more mature and sensitive back then. Claudia felt amused as she recalled everything that happened to her that day. The day he made the biggest mistake of his life.

Adam realizes that the truth is, the man only took advantage of Claudia's innocence and naiveness when she was young. Adam swore to God in his heart, under he wouldn't let Sean win now. Actually Adam already thought that he would give up then, but not now. Even if Claudia was not his wife and was just another normal person whom Adam knew, he would definitely do the same.

"Diii.... Be calm. I understand you're right and he's wrong with you, don't worry."

"Dw... Is that an excuse until you want to let me go?" Claudia asked with eyes that looked so painful.

Claudia knew now what the words Adam had said that day.

"And are you serious about letting me go? You're gonna let him take me away from you? Please don't Adam, don't do this, please. I don't want to go anywhere. I love you, baby, I want to be with you. I don't want to go anywhere. If you don't want me to be your wife, stay with me. Make me your sister or nephew, just like you treated Megan. But don't let him take me away. Claudia was crying so hard, with a frightened face.

Adam hugged his wife so tightly.

Claudia climbed onto Adam's lap holding him even tighter.

Adam kissed Claudia's cheek and answered her words.

"Well baby, I'm not sending you anywhere. No one can take you away from me. I promise, I'll protect you. Remember today, I promise you." Adam Say.

One of the men in black who was a bodyguard Sean approached Sean who was sitting on the sofa smoking a cigarette and looked at a photo inside his phone. A picture shows a girl coming out of a shop. A photo that gives him a chance to find the girl he's been in. This time he had already found information about the girl, less than 3 days. Sean smiled as he looked at the file handed to him.

When he opened the file, the first thing Sean saw was a name.

"Claudia Arista Setyawan." Said Sean repeating reading the name again and again while wiping the photos on his phone.

I decided to turn myself in to the police and now I'm making a new, legal business. I decided to go back to my usual life, just for you. So I can make you mine.

I'll come, baby." Sean talks to himself and photos on his phone.

"Dear." Claudia said after being silent for a while.

"Hmmmmm.." Adam replied.

Now they are lying on the bed together. Claudia was hugged very tightly by Adam.

Adam opened his eyes and saw his wife holding her phone over their head, preparing to take a selfie.

After doing the fun thing in the morning, and taking a shower. They finally went downstairs for breakfast.

"Darling, please stay home unless you have some very important business. You know what I mean, don't you?" Ask Adam.

"Dear, I'm not leaving... Now don't stress anymore. I'll be safe here, relax." Claudia smiled as she put on Adam's tie.

"How can you feel so calm and not stressed? Aren't you scared?" Adam asked, he looked so curious.

Claudia wrapped her arms around Adam's neck and kissed Adam's lips before answering his question.

"Because I know my dear husband is a former military officer. I'll be safe next to him and Sean will never even be able to kidnap me. I won't be afraid of him. I knew my husband would tear apart this town to find me, wherever I was. I'm Madam Adam why should I be afraid."

Adam could not understand, whether he should feel happy about Claudia's confidence in him. Adam was feeling more depressed now. He should be more prepared for the worst now.

'What if Claudia was right, and the man managed to kidnap her!' Think Adam.

He smiled with love to his wife. Adam kissed Claudia's lips.

"Dear, take care of yourself. You don't have to be stuck in the house, you can get out of the house but take the bodyguard with you. If possible take Will with you. He didn't have an important job these few days, okay." Adam told Claudia.

Claudia was pleased with the way Adam thought about her and the safety of both of them. Claudia nodded her head and waved to her husband.
