Chapter 79 S2. The Unexpected Love
Gafi has had corneal eye surgery for an entire week. During that time he could not see anything because his eyes were wrapped in thick bandages. Today he will be opened by his doctor and accompanied by his wife, Dita.
Dita had been waiting for him in the waiting room for several hours. He was very worried about Gafi's condition. After a while, the doctor came out of the operating room and approached Dita.
"Doctor, how's he doing?" ask Dita.
"He will be fine, but for now he still needs a few days to rest completely and not do excessive physical activity" the doctor replied.
"Thank you, doctor" said Dita.
"There's no problem. Let's go to the infirmary and I'll open the bandage in his eye."
In the treatment room, the doctor immediately prepares the tools needed to open the Gafi bandage. Gafi felt a little anxious because he did not know what was going to happen.
The doctor started removing bandages from his eyes. As the bandage detached from his eyes, Gafi's eyes experienced an uncomfortable feeling of having to readjust to the bright light.
"How does it feel?" ask Dita.
"Dark" replied Gafi.
"Just calm down, it's because Kak Gafi's eyes still have to adjust back to the light. Doctor, can we get some eye drops as a painkiller?" ask Dita.
"Yes, certainly. I'll give you a prescription at the pharmacy on the first floor. Make sure he uses it once every 6 hours."
After getting a prescription, Dita took Gafi to the pharmacy and took eye drops prescribed by the doctor.
"Come, sister, you have to use it now" said Dita while giving eye drops to Gafi.
Gafi drips eye drops into her eyes and feels relieved that it feels a little better.
"Thank you, Dita" he said with a smile.
"Sister should rest well and follow the instructions of the doctor. I'll make sure Brother stays okay." replied Dita gently.
Gafi felt very happy to have Dita who always cared and supported him during difficult times like this.
"It feels like seeing the world for the first time, it's incredible" Gafi said.
In one month not seeing the world feels very dark and empty. Gafi endlessly expressed gratitude for being able to see the beauty of the world again.
"Can I help you, brother?" ask Dita.
"Yes, you are the one who makes this world look more beautiful" said Gafi as he reached for Dita's hand.
They smile together and enjoy the journey to their home while feeling the happiness that exists. Gafi feels more fortunate to have Dita, even though she has had difficulties in the past.
With the support and love of Dita, she will recover from the surgery and be ready to step forward in her life. He was certain that as long as he had Dita by his side, he could pass through all the obstacles that were before him.
He drove the car to Rachel's house. Everyone is waiting for their arrival and talk about preparing for Axel's wedding. Dita also got word if at Axel's house there is Syifa, Dita's best friend who is Axel's future wife.
Arriving at Axel's house, Dita walked by holding her husband's hand. Upon entering Mama Rachel's house, all eyes were on them. Everyone greeted with a smile. No one was allowed to go to the hospital. I did that to give you a surprise.
Mama Alya immediately stood up and hugged her son Gafi. She was crying happily because her son could see again.
"Ma, a month not seeing this world feels empty, what about those who have experienced decades of blindness" said Gafi.
"For that we must be grateful for the blessings and gifts that God has given us, son," said Alya with tears still flowing down her cheeks.
Alya took Gafi to sit down. Everyone congratulates him on the success of his operation.
In the corner of the room, Dita and Syifa were chatting. I don't know what they're talking about.
"I'm sorry, Dita. I asked you to stay away from Axel, but I ended up with Axel. Surely you will say I am a hypocrite" Syifa said with a bow.
"Why should I apologize? Feelings and falling in love that we can not control. Nor do we know whose love will be anchored to whom. There is nothing wrong in falling in love. I'm just glad you're the future wife of Axel because we're going to be brothers" replied Dita.
"Sometimes you fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected moment.
