Chapter 22 S2. My choice

From yesterday Axel was still thinking about the words of the lover. He felt sorry to see Lisa who was saddened by being neglected by their entire extended family.

Axel walked down the stairs. He had to talk about this to his parents. She should know the reason why Rachel doesn't like Lisa.

Axel sat in the living room while looking at his mother who was busy arranging flowers. He couldn't hold back his curiosity any longer.

"Ma, I want to ask you something. Why do you always seem to dislike Lisa, my boyfriend?" Axel asked suddenly and in a soft voice.

Rachel looked at her son seriously. "What makes you ask that question, son?" tanyakanya.

"I just feel, Mama always looks cute and unfriendly to Lisa. He is a very nice person and loves me. He has also been trying to make my mom like him" Axel explained.

Rachel sighed and put down the vase of flowers she was holding. "Okay son, sit down here first. I'll explain everything" he said as he sat next to his son.

"Mama doesn't like Lisa. Just maybe you are not used to the presence of girls other than Dita," replied Mama in a soft voice.

"Ma, please forget about Dita. Mama and Papa didn't mean to match me up and get fucked?" axel asked with an unpleasant look.

"Mama and Papa never betrothed you. All the choices depend on you. Who will live your life, but as parents we have the right to give advice and input. It all depends on you again, whether you accept all the input or not" said Rachel.

Axel was silent for a moment, swallowing his saliva which felt heavy. He nodded at what his mother said.

"Son, Mama won't affect you, like you said before. However, you must also explain to you that from your heart, there is something stuck about Lisa's attitude towards you. He just seems to need you, not your extended family!" Mom tried to give her understanding again.

Axel nodded in understanding. She knows, the relationship between the two women she cares about is not going well at all, though her mother has said if she accepts Lisa, she does, but from his attitude it is clear that mama has not been able to accept the presence of the girl. However, Axel also can not stand back, he loves Lisa so much as the girl, they love each other.

"Mama knows that Lisa loves you very much, and you love her a lot too. You are young, I hope you can choose the best woman to accompany you. Marriage is a lifelong worship that must be lived by a married couple. The journey through life will experience the joys and sorrows together in the household ark. So I hope you can choose the right girl right," said Rachel.

"Yes, Ma. I get it, I think Lisa's the right choice. One year I was in a relationship, he never let me down" Axel replied.

"Marriage is a new gateway to enter the new world of human life. From single to double, from one family to the unification of two families, from one culture to the unification of two cultures. Married is a gate entering a new place and condition. Same with entering a new school. We will meet a variety of people who are not the same as us, even our own partners. Therefore, getting married does not seem to need a formal school and indeed there is no school, it looks easy to see the role of a husband and wife who are invisible,"

Rachel stopped her words first. He took a breath before continuing.

"If we are going to enter a school, there must be a test and need to be prepared with real learning. Just like marriage, before marriage there needs to be careful preparation in addition to age and material. Moreover, the matter of marriage or marriage is not about ijab and kabul only. There are many elements in it that you have to learn and understand" said Rachel next.

"I understand, Ma. Lisa and I will always learn and understand each other. I will also ask Lisa to be able to understand all the wishes of my family. I'm sure Lisa can do it all" Axel replied.

Rachel smiled and hugged her son warmly. "If you believe Lisa is the right choice, you will definitely support all your choices. There is no such thing as coercion and matchmaking in this day and age, you just need time to be able to adjust to Lisa's attitude" said Rachel.

Rachel had no choice but to support her son's choice. If he was too against Axel's choice, he was afraid that his son would rebel and do something negative. For now, he can only support her.

Axel was relieved after receiving support from his mother. He promises to take responsibility for the choices that will be taken later. She believes that although the relationship between the two families is difficult, she can create a better relationship with Lisa and establish a happy life with her lover.

Finally, Axel pondered everything he had learned from his mother. She is determined to maintain her relationship with Lisa and repair the relationship between her mother and Lisa. Axel finds hope, and chooses to struggle with love.
