NOT AS BEAUTIFUL AS HEAVEN S1/S2
Chapter 9 S2. Desire Dita

Seated in a corner of his room, a nervous look was fixed on his reflection reflected in the mirror. Her voice trembled as she tried to express her greatest desire to her mother. His mind was filled with questions and doubts about how to open his mother's heart to support his college dreams outside the city.

For a moment, he pondered, arranging the words he was about to say. The dim light of the room gave it an almost dreamlike atmosphere, giving it a bit of courage. With a deep breath, Dita began to speak to her own reflection in the mirror.

"Mother," said Dita slowly, her voice trembling.

"I know this might be a little surprising, and I'm very nervous to say it. But I want you to know that I really want to study out of town, like I said before."

He was silent for a moment, eyes that reflected doubt looked at his own reflection. He patted her on the cheek and condemned her current silliness. "I knew this would worry Mom, but I had prepared myself well. I want to get a wider education and experience out there."

Dita felt her heartbeat speed up, but she continued. "I promise I will try hard, study hard, and keep communication with Mom. I know that Mom always wants the best for me, and I hope you can support this dream."

His gaze was still fixed on the reflection in the mirror, like looking for strength and gathering his guts. He sighed, not thinking that he would surf it uttered all his sentences when faced directly with Yuni, his mother.

After feeling absolutely certain that this was the time, she came out of her room and immediately saw her mother in the kitchen enjoying a cup of warm tea. A very precise moment.

Dita walked over and sat right in front of her mother. Although his sentence was broken and not surfing earlier, he finally managed to express his wish.

"Are you sure you're going to live alone out of town?" yuni asked with a face full of worry when Dita finished expressing her wish.

Dita felt her heart beat even faster. He knew this question would come up, but he remained confident in his wishes. He nodded slowly, trying to convince his mother. "Yes, Mommy. I'm certain. I'll live alone out of town. I've planned it carefully."

Yuni was silent for a moment, her eyes looking deeply at Dita. "I'm worried about you, let alone imagining you living there alone. Have you thought about all the risks?"

"I've considered every possibility. I will try hard and take care of myself. I know it won't be easy, but I want to give my best to myself and to you too."

Yuni grabbed Dita's hand gently and smiled, although there was still doubt in her eyes. "You're always the same as you used to be, Dita. I will support you in this decision, but you must promise me that you will take good care of yourself there. And feel free to contact us anytime if you need support or help."

Dita was relieved to hear Yuni's support. He clasped his mother's hand tightly and said, "Thank you. I promise to try hard and take good care of myself. I'll make you proud."

Yuni looked at Dita with pity, even though she had agreed to her son's desire to go to college outside the city. In his heart, deep worry still lingered tightly. He was worried about the future his son would face.

What else Yuni knew if this decision Dita took had anything to do with Axel. However, he would not bring up or ask about it. Yuni was afraid that it would add to her son's injuries.

"How about we have dinner now?" Yuni moved out of her chair after the tea ran out.

After the chat, Yuni decided to give Dita a special dinner. Yuni carefully cooked a special plate of fried rice, with such a fragrant spice and such a delicious taste. He fried shallots, garlic, and red chili in oil until fragrant, then added pieces of chicken and shrimp that had been processed with selected spices.

After the main ingredients are cooked, Yuni adds the warmed white rice and mixes it perfectly, adding sweet soy sauce, ketchup, and a little salt to give it the right flavor.

Yuni then served the fried rice on a clean white plate, arranged beautifully and added a soft slice of omelet as a decoration on it. On the side of the plate, there are a few slices of fresh cucumber that add to the freshness of the dish. The fragrant aroma of fried rice spread throughout the house, inviting tastes.

When Yuni brought the dish to the dining table, Dita looked at it with a sparkling smile. His favorite fried rice dish never failed at all, and tonight was no exception.

Dita returned to her room after dinner with Yuni. The atmosphere in his room was warm because the dim lights in the corner of the room gave a touch of softness to the atmosphere of the room.

In the corner of his study table, there was a pile of books. Dita knows that preparing for college outside the city requires extra effort and dedication. On top of his bed, there were photos of memories neatly arranged on the wall.

Dita sat down at the study table and opened her laptop. He began to browse information about his destination university, find out more about the study programs he was interested in, as well as find a comfortable place to live outside the city.

As the window of his room opened slightly, the night breeze started to enter, bringing with it a fresh scent. She felt that her bedroom was more comfortable than the night before.

Meanwhile, Yuni washes the dishes with a very heavy mood, although her eyes seem to be busy with household tasks, her mind is actually drifting away. She knows that behind Dita's strong face, there is a deep sense of heartbreak because of Axel, who now turns to Lisa.

As the water flowed from the tap, Yuni recalled Dita's expression. His daughter's face was filled with disappointment and confusion. Yuni felt the pain of seeing Dita have to go through such a feeling.

"Is all this just to divert his mood?" He wonders.

While washing the dishes, Yuni thought about how she could give Dita extra support. She wanted to provide a safe place for her daughter to talk about her feelings without fear or shame. Yuni wanted Dita to know that she was always there for him, even when they talked about these kinds of things.

As Yuni dried the dishes and placed them carefully on the shelf, she walked to Dita's room and found that she was already soundly asleep, curled up in her bed.

"I'm sorry, son. Mom can't help. It's a matter of the heart. Can't be forced," Yuni muttered in her heart.
