Vivian's steps were heavy as she crossed Revan's office parking lot. Actually, he refused to come there. His relationship with Revan's parents can not be said to be good, although it is also not arguably bad. Her parents-in-law's indifferent attitude made Vivian feel she was not considered part of her husband's extended family.
"Good day, sir. I Vivian have an appointment to meet Mr. Perdana." Vivian gave a polite smile to the security guard standing guard at the entrance.
"Please come in, Ms. Vivian."
As Vivian had expected, the security guard at Revan's office had been informed of her arrival. He was immediately taken to the living room. Not until five minutes later, a woman who introduced herself as papa Revan's secretary came to him.
"Come, Miss Vivian. Mr and Mrs Perdana are waiting in her room." The secretary named Johanna was speaking with a perfect professional attitude.
Vivian walked after the secretary with a feeling of anxiety that made her heart pound. Not without reason, he was worried. The in-laws who never thought it existed suddenly called him to come to the company and it happened just as his sister was caught doing thesis research there. It was hard for him to think positively about the situation.
To dispel the anxiety, Vivian busied her mind by observing the atmosphere in Revan's office. He could not help but feel amazed at the interior design of the magnificent and futuristic building. Several employees appeared to be passing by in the spacious office lobby.
The employee uniform in Revan's office also caught his attention. With a dark blue color, the uniform design makes the person wearing it look fashionable as well as professional. For a moment he felt tempted to make a career there, the thing he immediately took from his mind.
Vivian turned her head when she heard the heel of the shoe knocking on the floor at a fast tempo, getting closer and closer. Not long after, a female employee who stepped in haste with a restless face.
"There's a problem, Mar? How rushed?" Johanna asked the employee.
"I want to go home, Jo. My son's babysitter just called, he said my son was crying constantly and did not want to eat. I'm afraid he's sick." The employee stopped to answer a coworker's question.
Johanna seemed worried. "It's good that you go home. But be careful, Mar."
After the employee left, Vivian and papa Revan's secretary continued their steps. Vivian expressed her sympathy. "He's sorry he seems so worried."
"The parents' names, ma'am, are most afraid that the child is sick. Moreover, his son Maria was once a high fever to seizures. He's been going back and forth to the house to check on his son." Johanna said with concern.
"His house is close?"
"Far away, ma'am, in Sidoarjo town."
"May the child be well, yes" said Vivian sincerely.
The incident just now was quite disturbing Vivian's mind. She knows it is not easy to be a mother as well as a career woman who has to leave her child at home all day, especially if the child is in an unhealthy condition. That's why he doesn't want to have children. Unsettled thoughts can affect work productivity. He wants to find a solution so that career women like himself can still work optimally without having to subordinate children. But how?
"After this we take the elevator, ma'am. Mr. Perdana's room is on the sixth floor."
Johanna's voice made Vivian aware that her goal would be to come to the office. He took a deep breath and looked straight ahead. Look into his eyes as if to say, "I'm ready."
But the look of those resolute eyes disappeared in an instant when he saw the familiar figure of a male walking a few meters in front of him. His posture, his way of walking, and jet black hair cut in crew cut style it .... There was no mistaking it, the man in front was Revan, her husband.
Vivian frowned. Her husband was supposed to be on a plane heading for Jakarta. Why was it now in front of him, walking towards the elevator just like him? He ran small to make sure.
