One Night's Mistakes (Love's Wrong)

One Night's Mistakes (Love's Wrong)
DB 5 - First Meeting

Before accepting his destiny as the successor to the family business, Revan Halim was once a rebel. The young soul exploded, making him choose the extreme when protesting against the matchmaking plan between himself and the daughter of his best friend. For Revan, leaving home is the only way to save her future from a forced marriage.

Indekos in the crowded campus area, his days spent playing games at the cafe. Revan enjoys the new freedom of life he reguk. Financial problems are not confused. He could at any time ask his grandmother, the only person who always supported his decision.

His first encounter with Vivian took place at that time. In front of a gaming cafe that operates near a well-known private university in East Surabaya, Revan Halim meets his soul mate. At least that's what he thought at the time.

Vivian's indifferent attitude when getting off the bike and her appearance is what is a fresh sight for the eyes of Revan who is used to seeing the glamorous style of conglomerate princess. She still remembers Vivian wearing a light blue hoodie with Mickey Mouse and black jeans that were torn large on both knees.

He became curious as to what kind of girl whose body gesture had attracted his attention so much. By itself Revan's heart was pounding fast waiting for the girl to take off the helmet of binoculars that covered her head. Like watching a slow-motion movie, Revan notices every little move of the girl.

As Vivian's hand restores her long, messy hair while looking meaninglessly at Revan, that very second a Revan Halim feels a stab of an arrow of romance in her heart. Attractively. He was fascinated at first sight.

A few days later, Revan approaches the girl.

"It's my favorite game, too. Want to play together?"

Approaching a gamer certainly has to start from the game he likes. Revan left his favorite shoot-out game and replaced it with a dance competition game that Vivian always played in the cafe.

"Well, your level is high!" Vivian exclaimed in amazement at the level of Revan's character. "A long time to play?"

Revan grinned at the girl. "It hasn't been long."

Not flowers, jewelry or other romantic items, but the level 35 game character who is most meritorious to bring Revan's relationship with Vivian closer. The character was bought from a seller of game characters in F*cebook at a price that is not cheap. They often play together. Vivian's scowling face every time the girl lost to her looked extremely adorable.

"We couple-an yuk?" Just an invitation to pair their characters in the game, but Revan's heart has been pounding. He bred them without hesitation, very sure afterwards they would also soon become a couple in the real world. Their characters get married and call each other "Pii" and "Mii", short for Papi and Mami. Very romantic, right?

However, the real world is not as beautiful as the virtual world. For months Vivian only considered Revan as a fun and fun game partner. Instead, the man mired deeper and deeper into the abyss called love.

Strong, independent and free, Vivian managed to destroy the stigma of a woman who had been firmly attached to Revan's mind.

"You're not home yet, aren't your parents looking?" revan asked one day as they walked side by side to where their bike was parked after playing at the cafe.

Vivian shakes. "No. They believe I won't macem."

"Can't that be it?" Revan could not help but feel amazed, because from birth his life was in full control of the parents. His study schedule, playtime, what he eats, and who he hangs out with, are all set.

Vivian wore a helmet of binoculars and then raised her shoulder indifferently. "It's because I'm not a macem" he replied, raising his right leg through the motorcycle seat. Even the way he got on the bike was like a man, Revan thought at the time. But strangely, he thought the girl was cool.

As the love in his chest grew bigger and more unbearable, Revan decided to speak it out. The young man was determined to end the platonic relationship between the two of them. He ventured to invite Vivian to eat at a cafe not far from the cafe and expressed his feelings there.

"Vi, what if we're a real couple?"

Revan remembered Vivian's reaction when he heard her call. Very flat. "You mean dating?" The girl asked as she blinked her eyes.

"iya dating. I've liked you for a long time."

"Oh." The girl looked down and continued eating.

Revan's heart immediately slipped. He thought Vivian had rejected him, before then hearing the girl ask with a clueless face. "But why? What makes you like me?"

Revan stared at Vivian's two eyeballs, hoping the answer would melt the girl's heart. "Because you're different from other women I know. You are strong and independent."

Ironic as hell, thought Revan nine years later while looking intently at the wife who had just stirred up her anger. Vivian's independence which once made her crazy about the woman, is now precisely the reason Revan wants to divorce from her.

Vivian opened her mouth to argue. "I just don't like you as much as—"

"What's wrong with giving gifts to in-laws on birthdays?" sue Revan without waiting for Vivian to finish her sentence.

"The gift you love is too expensive!"

"Why should it be expensive? Two years we've been married, you haven't been able to accept the fact that I'm rich?" reply Revan intense.

Vivian closed her eyes, feeling tired with their entire quarrel. "I'm just asking you not to give anything to my family. Is it that hard to do that?" he answered in a voice that increasingly pointed to his fatigue.

"Then what's my role as your husband, Vi? You never want to use my money, you forbid me to help your family, you don't let your friends know that I'm your husband!" Revan hit the handle of the steering wheel hard to vent his frustration.

The sound of a knock on the window paused for a moment the quarrel of the couple. I don't know since when Vivian's security guard came out of her guard post and stared fiercely at Revan from behind the glass window. It seems he thought Vivian had just experienced domestic violence.

Revan lowered his window and smiled at the security guard. There was no more anger on his face. But the one who smiled at him did not reply. The guard threw a judgment-filled glance at Revan, then turned to look at Vivian. "Is there a problem, Mom?"

"No one, sir. I was just joking with my husband. Usually if Becranda likes to be unconscious of the place. It's also about to go home" Vivian replied quickly as she forced a smile on her lips that suddenly felt dry. In his heart he scolded himself for not being able to act as well as Revan.

"Well then. Be careful on the road, sir, ma'am." The guard looks relieved. He gave a polite smile before returning to his place.

Realizing there was no point in continuing their quarrel at the venue, Revan began to run his vehicle back. He was driving with his lips tightly clenched, holding back the still-explosive anger in his head.

If the time machine really existed, Revan would have bought it, no matter how expensive it was. He wants to go back nine years to prevent himself from committing stupidity. He swore he would never leave his parents' house. He will be betrothed to whoever it is. Her parents' choice of women was definitely no worse than this wife sitting next to her, she thought grimly.

Funnily enough, the determination to maintain his relationship with Vivian made him shamelessly return to the comfort of the home he left behind. She still remembers the first time she invited Vivian to go to college, two months after they were officially dating.

Afraid of being late, Revan arrived very early. Vivian was still bathing when she arrived at the girl's house. The living room where he sat waiting felt increasingly narrow as he began to be interrogated by the lover's mother.

"You're on campus with my son?"

"I haven't been to college, Auntie," Revan replied honestly. He plans to attend college the next semester, at the same campus as Vivian.

"Where do you live?"

"I'm sniffing at Tenggilis."

"Where are you?"

"Alabaya."

"Why spend? Don't have a house?"

Revan hesitates to answer. There's no way he said he was leaving the parents' house. "He doesn't have it" he replied, lying.

Vivian's mama's eyebrows almost fused to hear it. "What parents do you work for?"

"Food sales." At that time Revan did not feel lying. His family-owned company does produce various food and beverage products.

Mama Vivian snorted loudly. "You think I'm going to let my son go out with a guy who doesn't have a future like you?" snapped the woman, then glanced sharply at the fence of the house.

Revan followed the direction of mama Vivian's eyes. Under the woman's look of disgust, the 2004 black duck motorcycle she used to pick up her lover appeared pathetically parked.
