Vivian no longer intended to dodge. He raised his tear-filled face and returned Revan's gaze. Hatred was evident from the look in those eyes.
Seeing that, Revan sighed. His pleasure that had appeared because he found the jealous wife, just disappeared. "We have to talk" he said seriously.
"Nothing to talk about, Rev!" Vivian jerked her hand which was being held tightly by Revan. "I used to say, right? Once you betray, our marriage is over!"
Revan again gripped Vivian's arm with more force than before. "Look! If our marriage is to end, I won't let it end because of a misunderstanding!"
At that moment, the elevator door opened. Vivian and Revan automatically stopped the quarrel and shifted their standing to give way to the person who had just exited the elevator. From the corner of her eyes, Vivian saw a pair of men and women walking past them. Under normal circumstances, he and Revan would greet their neighbors, at least with a smile. But this time, he actually lowered his head so that they did not see his face which still left a cry.
Only Revan nodded and smiled politely at them. After that, he quickly pulled Vivian into the elevator and pressed a button on the panel to close the elevator door. Vivian's right shoulder hit Revan's chest as a result of the forceful pull. "Done, Goddamnit!" he snarled and tried to distance himself.
But Revan actually further tightened their bodies by clutching Vivian's waist. The woman looked up to make a mockery of the presumptuous treatment, but the look in Revan's eyes that hit her at a very close distance made the woman lost her words.
"Follow me. I'll prove that I didn't cheat" Revan said solemnly.
Vivian believes herself to have been blinded by love. He let Revan take him into the man's Toyota Land Cruiser, leaving his own car parked not far from there. He complied when Revan asked him to get out of the car and lead his way to an apartment unit that was not too far from their garage.
"Here I stay after I leave the house." Revan started telling stories without waiting for Vivian to ask. "Only," he added.
"Yeah because your concubine lives in the penthouse," Vivian replied cynically.
"We just had dinner to talk about the employment contract. Vanessa will be the exclusive advertising star for Halim Food's new product."
"Ad star who lives in a married male penthouse." Vivian added in a tone full of satire.
"Vanessa wants her privacy up. Our penthouse is the best choice."
"You think I'm gonna believe it, Rev? Your reasons are too unreasonable!"
With an un-created calm demeanor, Revan picked up his phone. The man moves his thumb up and down on the phone screen. After a while passed, he thrust the rectangular object to Vivian. "You see this."
"I don't need—" Vivian said to a halt. The woman was shocked by what she saw on her phone screen. "CCTV recordings?"
Revan nodded. "As you can see. At 7pm I arrived at the penthouse. Vanessa came out and we left. I didn't go inside at all."
It's the first time Vivian has not refuted Revan's self-defense. The CCTV footage he was watching shows Vanessa opening the door and giving Revan a welcome by embracing and kissing the man's cheek. Vivian pursed her lips tightly so as not to curse.
"Since we moved because you do not feel at home, the penthouse function I diverted for business purposes. Some colleagues from out of town also stay there when visiting Surabaya."
Revan did not hide the disappointment in his tone. He used to buy the charmer griya for Vivian, hoping that she would be happy with the luxurious residence like the palace she presented. But he was wrong. Not only asking for a move, Vivian was also impressed not to care about the place.
"Whatever you want to do. You're the one who bought it, not me." It was Vivian's reply that was spoken nonchalantly when one day Revan said he wanted to sell it. After that Revan never touched on the penthouse issue again.
"Citillites. If you want, I can get the CCTV footage in there too."
"No need" said Vivian Ketus. The offer from her husband again reminded her of their unequal social status. Revan's extended family mostly works as entrepreneurs. The owner of the restaurant where Revan and Vanessa ate dinner was Revan's older cousin. Of course it was not difficult for Revan to get CCTV footage there.
"So you believe I'm not cheating?"
"Not yet."
Vivian is back watching the video. He sped up the air until Revan and Vanessa re-appeared on screen. Time shows the events of forty-five minutes ago when Revan is seen entering the charmer's griya in haste. Vanessa patted the man on the shoulder with a laugh before coming in with him.
After that Vivian's eyes were fixed on the screen which only showed the tightly closed door. His anger that had subsided back up to ubun-ubun. He really wanted to jump into the screen and break down the door with a single kick. Her husband was behind the apartment door, in there alone with another woman.
"It's not long before I'm your mergokin, is it?" she said with a bitter smile. "This time what else is your excuse?"
"If you look carefully, I'm in there for no more than five minutes." Revan replied still with equal calmness.
"Five minutes is enough for you to have s*x with him!"
"really?" Revan grinned. "You know exactly my duration is longer than that."
"Stuff it, Rev!"
Revan chuckled at Vivian's reaction. The woman's efforts to keep looking fierce became futile because of the red hue on both cheeks. She looks more beautiful. Revan linger looking at the wife's face. He only gave an explanation after seeing Vivian glaring.
"I went in because I suddenly wanted a CHAPTER."
"What?" Vivian frowned at the strange answer.
"It's not strange. I am indeed a regular BAB more than once in a day. You know that."
There was no denial coming out of Vivian's mouth. It is true what Revan said. They even failed to make love for the same reason. But still Vivian still feels something awkward.
"Why don't you use the toilet in the lobby?"
That question irritated Revan half to death. "Too far. I don't want to poop in my pants" he said, staring at his wife's annoyance.
Vivian must have let out a laugh if she did not remember her position interrogating the husband. He thought of all Revan's answers. It all makes sense to him. He really wanted to trust that man. But there was one thing he did not understand.
"Why did Vanessa say she was your boyfriend?"
Vivian's pair of eyes stared at Revan's face as she waited for an answer. Her heart melted because for the first time that night the husband no longer returned his gaze.
