Re:Incarnation System
Chapter 91: Practicing Archery, John (Part 2)

William rolled around on the ground as he dodged the blade of wind directed towards him. After regaining his balance, he immediately summoned his bow and took aim. The boy shot three arrows in a row quickly towards his target.

The bird of prey that had shot William with a blade of wind, dodged his attack with a quick aerial maneuver that left William clicking his tongue in frustration. Three months had passed since he started his training with John, and his proficiency with the bow had reached the peak of the Silver Rankings.

The surprising part of all of this is that William does not rely on any Job Class. Instead, he had used everything he had learned from the previous instructor and played it.

Owen's Stamina training allowed him to endure a battle of attrition.

Trent's Perception Training allowed him to read the trajectory of an opponent's attack so that he could avoid it.

Dwayne's flexibility training gave William the edge in performing tough stunts for attack and evasion as he held the bow firmly in his hand.

A shrill cry echoed in the sky as the Blitz warned him of another impending danger. Another bird of prey flew from the outskirts of the forest in an attempt to tear William apart with its claws. It seemed that it was the partner of the others that he was engaged in fighting, and the two beasts decided to work together to subdue the boys that they wanted to eat for lunch.

_____

< Archaeopteryx Scaled Green >

the Bird of prey

— Threat Level: D (High)

— Cannot be added to the herd

— Voracious hunters in the forest, this bird of prey is famous for its ferocity when hunting for food.

— Able to use Wind Magic up to the First Circle

_____

"Surf!" William shouted and the eagle plunged down from the sky to answer his call.

The young boy leaped onto the back of the eagle and stared at the two birds of prey at a glance. If it was just a one-on-one fight, William was confident he could defeat him. However, as his reserves had arrived, the youngster decided to retreat.

He's not stupid. With his class of work sealed, fighting two Class D Beasts was suicide. With a strong flap of its wings, the Eagle left the outskirts of the forest and landed near a small camp where its Master, John, was waiting for them.

“How was the result?” John asked.

William shook his head. John had assigned him to look for suitable prey inside the forest for lunch, but he did not see any ferocious beasts that were easy to deal with so he decided to surround the periphery in hopes of finding an opponent he could defeat.

After an hour of searching, he finally found a horned rabbit digging in the ground. He would go to kill when he was interrupted by Archaeopteryx Scaled Green.

Naturally, the horned rabbit was alerted and immediately fled. William, on the other hand, attacked birds of prey because he felt he could defeat them. Unfortunately, Archaeopteryx is one of those tough cakes. The two fought for a quarter of an hour before his comrade came to his aid, leaving William with no choice but to retreat.

"I guess we'll eat boiled potatoes for lunch." John grinned as he took out four potatoes from his storage ring.

William sighed as this was the third day they ate boiled potatoes in a row. The Blitz left them to hunt for his own lunch. He is the type of bird who does not like to share spoils with others.

"What's wrong?" John asked as he looked at the depressed child who was sighing beside him.

"I finally understood how difficult it was to reach a moving target," William replied as he stared at the pot of potatoes on the fire. "It's much easier to hit them when they stand still."

“If someone shoots you with a bow, will you stay still?” John asked.

"Of course not" replied William. “I don't want to die.”

"true." Johan nodded his head. “Of course, the wild beast you fought also did not want to die. But that's how the world works. Either you are a hunter or a prey. These two roles can be exchanged at any time. One minute you are the hunter, the next second you are the hunted.”

William knew that John was telling the truth. It was the same when they fought the Hobgoblin Shaman for the first time. They were hunters, but they kicked steel plates. In the end, the situation changed and the Hobgoblin Shaman nearly wiped out their entire party.

“Then, how do you reach the moving target?” William asked. He hoped John could give him some advice.

"Predict where they will move next" John replied. “This is why I asked you to hunt for our food. You need to use your perception and predict the next steps of your target. That way, you will be able to land a blow on them. ”

"Prediction ..." William frowned. The movement of the Green-Scaled Archaeopteryx was too fast to predict.

What William doesn't know is that besides archery, John's role is to teach him to read his enemy's body language. All Martial Artists were proficient in this field, but Hunters were the ones who paid extra attention to their targets.

Hitting your enemies from a distance is not easy. It takes concentration and a strong perception to land a punch on your target body.

John is an Aerial Cavalier. He was a hunter who specialized in shooting his targets from the air while riding his mount, the Blitz.

The thing he mastered was hunting moving targets. This was why he could hold off the Strathmore Horned Wolf until James and the others arrived as his backup.

Another month passed and William was used to hunting on the outskirts of Strathmore Forest. Thanks to John's advice, he was able to hit his target of 6 out of 10 trials. Although his attack rate was almost impassable, it was a huge improvement in William's archery skills.

He had just killed a Wild Boar when he heard the cries of birds in the forest. William's sixth sense warned him that danger was approaching. The youngster did not even think twice and ran towards the forest exit.

Although he felt regret for having to leave the boar, his life was more important.

He had just traveled only twenty meters when the Black-Winged Panther charged at him from the side. William had already jumped to the left, but the claws of the panther still managed to land a scratch on his chest.

Fortunately, it wasn't very deep, but it still dyed William's clothes with his blood. William stared at his attacker with fear as his judgment skills identified the creature in front of him.

____

— Threat Level: C (Medium)

— Cannot be added to the herd

— A panther that likes to stalk its prey from behind before delivering a fatal attack.

— Beautiful, yet ferocious, this Beast is a difficult enemy on land and in the sky.

——

'The system opens my Job Class now!' William commanded. She knew that now was not the time to hold back her strength as she fought against an opponent stronger than her Mama Ella in her War Ibex Form.

William would not take any risks against such an opponent.

< Opening Job Class >

< Host Ability has been successfully opened! >

William felt his body getting lighter and stronger after his ability opened.

'System, switch my Sub-Class to Monk.'

William kept his bow inside his storage ring and fled hastily, he zigzagged through the trees using the speed of his movement, the Heavenly Phantasm.

Shadow Fang looked at him with disdain as he jumped from branch to branch to chase after his prey.

When the panther was about to jump into a tree near William, the boy kicked the bark of the tree with all his might splitting the tree in half. The sudden change shocked Panther as it flapped its wings to adjust its landing.

William chose the opportunity to attack Shadow Fang and deliver the most powerful trump card in his Monk Arsenal which was an "Obinary Attack".

____

< Outstanding Attack >

— Once a day, you can send one unarmed attack at full force containing all your strength.

— Damage given is equivalent to your Strength Stat multiplied by 20.

— Knockback Effect

____

A strong applause echoed in the forest as William's fist connected with the leg of the panther. The panther roared in pain as it was thrown by William's full-powered attack. His front legs were bent at an unnatural angle which proved that the boy had managed to knock out his attacker.

However, the battle is not over. The panther flapped its wings and some feathers flew towards William. Shadow Fang's wings were as hard as steel and could use his fur as a ranged weapon when dealing with his enemy.

William bent his body in an unnatural angle to avoid the fur, which was only possible due to his flexibility.

After dodging the attack, William fled as this was his only chance to do so. He hoped the Winged Panther would stop and leave him alone.

Unfortunately, no one heard his prayers as a vengeful roar echoed in the forest. Although his front legs were paralyzed, Shadow Fang could still move his body by flying through the air.

When William came out of the forest, Shadow Fang was already on top of him and prepared to take his life.

It was then that a loud scream pierced through the sky and the Blitz collided with the Winged Panther with its claws ready to strike.

Shadow Fang is forced to cancel his plan to bite William's head off his body and turn to clash with the eagle that dares to stand in his way.

Panther and Hawk engage in close combat as they claw, peck, swipe, and bite each other in the air. William could only watch the spectacle unfold as the two Beasts fought tooth and nail with each other.

"Stop messing around, Blitz," John said as he appeared beside William. “Do not mess with your food.”

Blitz shouted reluctantly as he looked at Panther sneering. Shadow Fang felt that something was wrong, but still continued to attack Hawk in front of him.

The Eagle's body grows to the size of two buses when combined. He swung his sharp claws at his enemy and left a deep wound on the chest of the panther. Shadow Fang knew that it was in trouble and decided to run away. But, the Blitz did not give the opportunity to do that.

Eagle's claws tore the wings off the body of the panther. Shadow Fang roared in pain as he fell to the ground first.

The blitz was about to do the final blow when the whistling sound tore through the air. An arrow flew towards the Panther's open jaw and pierced through his head. Seeing his enemy die before his eyes, the Eagle gave William "Failed what are you doing, Bro?" stared. Obviously, the Blitz doesn't like its prey getting "Kill Stolen" by others.

Wiliam, on the other hand, had a satisfied expression on his face as he landed a deadly blow to the Beast that almost took his life early.

< Obtain Exp: 10,000 >

“Uncle John, so this is how it feels to predict the movement of your enemy,” William said with a satisfied expression. “Everything went according to my plan.”

The corner of John's lips twitched as he looked at the shameless boy beside him.

'Just which part of what happened was part of your plan?!'

This was what Blitz and John wanted to ask the arrogant-faced boy who was looking at the corpse of Panther with greedy eyes. For a moment, his gaze reminded them of James' appearance when he was about to rob their treasure from the bandit camp.
