Chapter 41: Learning Black Magic, Within 15minutes

The next day, Owen accompanies William and Ella to a house located in the Southern Suburb of Lont. The two-story house looked very comfortable outside. Some orchids hang on the front porch. The air was filled with their scent and William could feel that his body was feeling refreshed after inhaling their scent.

"Celine, I'm taking Little William with me" Owen said as he lightly knocked on the door.

“Come in, Owen,” a voice as gentle as silk replied from inside the house.

Obtaining permission from the owner, Owen opened the door and gestured for William to enter. The first thing William saw was a room filled with the strangest creatures he had ever seen in his lifetime.

The citrus fruit that seemed to have grown tentacles was basking near the window. A tiger-headed fish was swimming in the fish tank. Two potted plants were playing chess on the table, and a parrot with a monkey head looked at William with disdain.

“Uwaaaaaak! A monkey has arrived!” the monkey parrot announced while mocking William from his perch. “Stupid monkey with stupid goat. Uwaaaaaaak!”

“Dear of your manners, Oliver. This is not the way we should treat our guests, ”the same delicate voice reprimanded the parrot monkey which made him shut his mouth completely.

"Celine, it looks like your pet is still as usual," Owen said as he scanned the room for a host.

"Well, Oliver won't be Oliver unless he acts like this" Celine replied. “I'm on the second floor, Owen. I'm sorry, but can you two wait another five minutes? I'll finish my experiment. ”

"Of course." Owen had expected something like this to happen, so he encouraged William to sit on the sofa by the window where the orange tentacle creature was sunbathing.

The parrot monkey made a face on William, but did not say a word, lest it anger its master. William looked at this strange creature with interest. Other than its strange appearance, it did not look dangerous. In fact, William felt this creature was very intelligent and was just pretending to be stupid.

Exactly five minutes later, a beautiful woman who seemed to be in her mid-twenties walked down the stairs. He had long purple hair and wore gold-framed glasses. Ironically, the dress she wore was also purple and accentuated the delicate curves of her body.

William was captivated by her surreal beauty and he could not help but stare at her. She was like a beautiful painting and each side was perfect.

"You're pretty cute, but sorry, I'm not interested in a boy whose hair hasn't even grown yet," Celine winked mischievous eyes at William which made the boy's heart beat fast inside his chest.

'S-Damn, her beauty is over 10,000.' William gulped as he looked at the beautiful woman in front of him. So far, Celine is probably the prettiest woman she has ever seen in her life. She's even prettier than her first love, Belle.

“William? Hey, young man, are you still with us? ” Owen teased the boy while lightly slapping his cheek.

“Meeeeeeee!”

Ella's voice resuscitated William from a daze. He then scratched his head to hide his embarrassment.

"Don't worry, no one will laugh at you." Owen patted the boy's shoulder. "If I hadn't gotten married, I would have married her a long time ago, haaha!."

Celine grunts. “Sorry, I am also not interested in old cows that are eyeing young grass. You must have saved the world in your past life to have Sarah in your present life. ”

“Well, I admit my wife may not be as beautiful as you, but she is quite excited in bed,” Owen replied with a satisfied expression.

Celine, William, Ella, and the parrot monkey, looked at the old bastard with disdain. All of their expressions only said one word and it was "Junk".

Owen was not affected by their appearance like that. In fact, he felt it was the highest compliment.

Celine snorted once more before directing her gaze at the boy in front of her.

“William, right? Allow me to break your bubble, young man, ” Celine said as she put glasses on her face. “You won't be able to learn the Dark Arts just because you want to learn them. Only those who have an interest in the Dark Arts can use its power.”

"I understand, but please, give me a chance" William replied with determination. "If I really have no relationship with Black Magic then I won't continue the matter any further."

“Hmm, for a ten year old, you really dare.” Celine nodded her head as a sign of appreciation. “Alright, let's see if you have any connection with Black Magic. Owen told me that you have studied Ice Magic. Is this true?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Interesting."

Celine called out to the crystal ball in her hand and gestured for William to come closer. "Put your hand over the crystal ball."

William did as he was told. A few seconds later, snowflakes appeared inside the crystal ball. Celine watched him for a few seconds before shaking her head.

"I'm sorry, you don't have a talent for the Dark Arts" Celine said. “I suggest that you just focus on your ice magic.”

Owen and Celine thought William would feel depressed because of the result. However, instead of depression, what they see actually makes them confused.

"Why are you smiling?" Celine frowned. "Don't I just tell you that you have no connection to the Dark Arts?"

"Yes" replied William. "I heard you were so assertive and outspoken Ms. Celine."

"Why then?" Ketus Celine's.

“That's because I don't need things like affinity to use any magic.”

In this world, the affinity of magic was the highest. Even if you practice for a hundred years, you cannot change this fact. Fire magicians would not be able to use water, ice, wind, and earth magic even if they spent years practicing it.

Even if they succeeded, the most they could do was to use simple spells like magic bullets and the like due to the restrictions in their affinity.

There are rare cases where people are born with two affinities and, on very rare occasions, some even have three. These people were considered a drop of water and different kingdoms would pay every fee to nurture these promising individuals.

However, the haughty-looking boy in front of them stated that he did not need any affinity to use any magic? Owen had clasped the stick in his hand very tightly and was about to hit William's butt.

"Little boy, are you playing me?" Celline asked. His tone carried a dangerous vibe like a hunter about to hit his prey. “You think learning magic is as simple as eating rice porridge?”

“Well of course, impossible for ordinary people,” replied William while answering with a confident look. “However, I am not an ordinary person. Miss Celine, do you want to bet with me?”

“Bet?” reply Celine.

"Yes. In less than fifteen minutes, I will be able to learn the Dark Arts.”

“Hmmp?” Celine narrowed her eyes and gave William a demonic smile. "intriguing. So what kind of bet are we going to have, son?”

“If I win, you should call me young master, and teach me Dark Arts,” William said with a mischievous smile. “If I lose then you can make me your slave for a year. Mr. Owen here will be a witness.”

"William, this," Owen wanted to prevent the boy. He had no idea where William's beliefs came from, but he understood Celine's character. He was someone who hated those who treated learning magic as a matter of course.

"Interesting." Celine looked at William with disdain. “Alright, I accept this bet. Owen, you will stand as our witness. I don't want to hear Old James say that I bully his grandson.”

“Hah~ William, are you really sure about this? It's not too late to apologize, you know?” Owen sighed and tried to convince the youngster once more. “There are things in this world that you cannot force. Learning magic is one of them.”

"Don't worry, Mr. Owen," replied William. "An Ainsworth won't back down from their words."

Seeing that the boy had no intention of taking a step back, Owen took out an empty parchment from his storage ring and chanted a spell. His words flew through the air and danced around the parchment giving off a white glow. After the singing ended, the parchment floated between Celine and William.

“This is a contract that will tie your oath with blood,” Owen explained. “William. This is the last time I ask. Are you sure about this?"

"Of course I'm sure" William replied with a smile.

“Hmph! If you really succeed then I don't mind calling you Young Master from now on, ” Celine said with a musical voice that made the youngster feel dizzy.

Owen took out a small dagger from his storage ring and pierced William's fingertip. A drop of blood flew into the contract making it glow deep red. He did the same to Celine. As his blood fused with the contract, a dazzling light appeared and split the contract into two halves.

They turned into rays of light and pierced through the chest of William and Celine.

A monotonous voice sounded in the air and made a declaration.

[Your fifteen minutes start now.]

"MST. Celine, can I borrow your gun for a minute?” ask William. “I promise I won't do anything to it. I just need to hold onto it to gain interest in Black Magic.”

“It's the first time I've heard someone get interested just by holding a gun, but of course, here it is.” Celine summoned a grimoire and handed it to William.

Since his contract had been set, he wouldn't be so petty as to deny the boy's need to prove his claim.

Owen watched on the side with a serious expression. This was also the first time he had heard of someone gaining an affinity just by touching a weapon belonging to someone else. He was half doubtful and half expecting William to show something he had never seen before.
