Chapter 58: Traveling Together (Part 2)END

William listened to the old man's story of his adventures and the cities he had visited during his youth.

"Trs. Herman, do you know anything about the Middle Continent?” William asked.

“Central Continent? I've lived there for a few years,” replied Herman. “That place is where the elites from different continents come together. Wh why? Are you interested in going there, William?”

"I don't know." William shook his head. “However, there is a chance that my Master will ask me to go there as soon as I get older.”

“Master...” Herman narrowed his eyes while glancing at the collar around William's neck. He had already noticed the slave collar on the boy, but he did not say anything about it.

Although the Hellan Kingdom did not support the Slave Trade, it did not make any move to remove it completely. Even in the capital, slaves were also sold. Herman just felt sorry for a boy like William to belong to someone.

“Ah, this?” William touched the collar around his neck. “It's just an accessory. My master gave it to me as a gift.”

“So...” Herman feels complicated. He wanted to curse Lord William for tricking a child into becoming their slave. From what he could see, William did not hate his Master. In fact, Herman could see that the boy really respected him.

“Nak, what is your master like?”

"Him? He's a crazy lunatic– I mean, a very amazing person. He treats me very well.”

It sounded like a snort from inside the car. Suddenly, a woman's voice reached William's ears. It was filled with humiliation and made William think that he was having his period.

"I'm sure your Master enslaved you because you are Half-Elf," said the woman inside the carriage with disdain. “Maybe he'll make you his son's toy once you grow up. Handsome boy like you will definitely be sold at a high price on the black market.”

"It's true that I'm very handsome" William replied with a smile. "Thank you for your compliment, Miss."

"I don't praise you!" sniff the woman. "I told you that you were stupid for being enslaved!"

William scratched the side of his face while feeling helpless. He also did not want to be a slave, but his circumstances were special. As for being the master's boy's toy ...

William gulped imagining Celine stepping on his back with her slender legs ...

'Ah Pei! What am I thinking?! I'm not a masochist!' William pats a perverted picture on his head.

“Nana, please, don't be rude,” a voice that seems to belong to a boy reprimands the woman. “Please, forgive the expression. He is not a big fan of slavery.”

"I don't mind" replied William. “I am also not a big fan of slavery.”

These were the last words they said to each other as they continued on their journey. The awkward silence along the way made Herman sigh inwardly. He still wanted to continue talking to William, but he was embarrassed by the explosion of his previous comrades.

“Meeeeeeee!” Ella bleated as she told William her thoughts.

"Oh? There's a cleanup ahead, Mama?” ask William.

“Meeeeh.”

"Trs. Herman, there is an opening in front, ” William said with a smile. “This is a great place to rest. How about we stay there for lunch?”

"Sounds like a plan." Herman nodded his head.

Half a minute later, they reached an open place where the river flowed beside him. The goats happily ran towards him to drink water. William followed behind them and refilled his water bag

He did not realize that a pair of light brown clear eyes were watching his every move from inside the carriage.

“She's an interesting child,” Est said while closing the partition on the train. "You're too hard on him, Nana."

“Sorry, Young Master,” Nana apologizes. “I was just annoyed that the slave trader had gone out of control. Even enslaving a child as young as him!”

"Do you really think that's the case?" Est asked.

"Young master?"

“The collar on his neck is made of Mithril. Don't you think using pure Mithril to make that slave necklace go to waste?”

In fact, this was the first time Nana had seen a necklace made of pure Mithril.

The twin boys, Isaac, and Ian, who were sitting next to Est looked at him confusedly.

"Young Master, is there something unique about that slave collar?"

"Young Master, does the slave collar made of Mithril have any special characteristics?"

"I don't know if the collar is special or not." Est shook his head. “All I know is that William's Master may not be a simple person. This is the first time I have seen a slave necklace made from Mithril, and at first glance I can tell that it is of very high quality.”

Nana and the twins fell silent and watched William from the window of the train. Herman had also gone to the river and was currently catching fish with his spear.

"The old fool liked the boy." Nana grunts. “She is very weak when dealing with children who are the same age as her granddaughter.”

“So you said, don't you like it too?” Est smile. “William is a good person. Even I feel attracted to him.”

"Well, as long as he doesn't get in our way, I don't mind if he's traveling with us." Nana closed her eyes. He pretended not to hear Est's question.

Suddenly, the train started to shake.

"Earthquake?!" Nana opened her eyes. "Ishak, Ian, don't leave Young Master's side!"

The twins nodded their heads and pulled out their daggers. Nana stepped out of the carriage to get a better picture of what was going on.

Herman stood guard outside the carriage and gripped the spear in his hand firmly. As he felt his surroundings tremble, he immediately ran towards the carriage to protect his Young Master.

William, Ella, and the other goats take on a battle formation with William as the centerpiece. The boy sat quietly on Ella's back as she focused her attention on her surroundings.

It was then that two mountain trolls, the size of a small hill appeared on the open ground. They carried the tree trunk in their hands and brandished it like a weapon.

"Troll," Nana narrowed her eyes. "I'll take one, you deal with the other."

“Understanding,” replied Herman.

Nana unsheathed her sword and attacked one of the mountain trolls. Herman ran beside him as the two of them fought the trolls to make sure that they were moving away from the carriage.

Both Mountain Trolls were considered to be at the top level of Level B threats, and they were extremely difficult to kill. Their skin was as hard as a rock and their incredible strength made them extremely deadly giants. Also, this particular Mountain Troll also had a nagging regeneration ability that left most people with a headache to fight them.

Also, Nana and Herman get headaches because they won't be able to kill trolls unless they use fire or acid. The only thing they could do was hurt them until the monsters thought that fighting them was not worth it.

As the battle was going on, another troll exploded towards the open while letting out a powerful roar. It ran towards the carriage carrying a giant wooden stick with the aim of smashing it into pieces.

"NO! Young master!"

"Young master!"

Nana and Herman lure the troll early to prevent them from attacking the train. What they don't know is that trolls have the same strategy. They sensed the presence of two powerful warriors, so they decided to split up and take them away from their prey.

The third Mountain Troll was only five meters away from its target, when the carriage door suddenly opened. Three figures jumped off the carriage and ran towards William.

Seeing his prey escape, the Mountain Troll decided to give chase. The steps are bigger, and faster than children so they can catch up with them easily. Est, and the twins could only watch in horror as the Monster slammed a giant wooden stick towards them without mercy.

Nana and Herman want to go back to save their Young Master, but the two trolls get in their way.

"Young master!" scream Nana. He felt regretful and helpless as the monster attacked his Young Master. “I'm sorry, Madam. I'm sorry!"

Herman gritted his teeth and roared furiously. Desperation could be seen on his face as he watched the tragedy that was about to unfold.

It was at that moment that a two-meter-tall goat jumped over the three children. The big goat faced off with a giant mace that was about to descend upon them. On his back was a boy with hair so red that it resembled a blazing fire. His wooden staff was ready to attack like a spearman riding his war horse.

Est's beautiful brown eyes watched the little boy, who was the same age as her, create a miracle right before her eyes.
