Re:Incarnation System
Chapter 29: Seeking a Second Opinion

A day passed after the great battle against the Wolf Tide. Lont Village was in a festive mood as they barely escaped the disaster.

Unfortunately, some other towns and villages do not share their happiness. Several messenger birds have arrived at the Ainsworth Residence and most carry bad news.

James frowned as he read the last letter that came. After a while, he sighed deeply as he carefully placed the letter on the right side of the table.

“Fuschia City has been overrun by Beast Tide. No one survived,” James announced.

“This makes it the third city to perish,” comments Owen. “The poor souls.”

“Beast Tide this really comes without warning.” Helen grimacing. “If the defenders of Lont are a little weaker, this city will suffer the same fate as the others.”

Everyone in the room secretly agreed with Helen's piece. If none of them were here, this city would have already been destroyed.

"Let's wait for John's reconnaissance mission" Marcus advises. "We can move once we get the detailed report."

"Do you think it's a good idea to open Lont City to accepting refugees?" Shawn asked.

This is a difficult question to answer. The city of Lont is a peaceful place and they like to keep it that way. If refugees swarm into this city then a certain balance will be broken. This is not something they want to happen.

However, can they really reject people who are in desperate need of help? Those who have lost everything? Although there was no one in the room who was innocent, and all their hands were covered in blood, they still had a hint of humanity in them.

If the urge comes to push, they will still reach out to offer assistance to these refugees.

After they fought the Wolf Tide, the city of Lont had entered a state of emergency. No one was allowed to leave the city, except for a few elites who were responsible for the safety of Lont city. The wolf pack that was on the battlefield was currently being cleaned up and turned into wolf jerky.

This is how they help the refugees get something to eat, when they arrive in their small town. Thousands of wolves would be enough to feed many people. As for Centennial and Millennial Beasts? They have no intention of sharing it with anyone.

They were magical beasts that would help nurture the next generation and only the natives gained the privilege of eating their meat. Their feathers, claws, and horns can be used to forge weapons and armor.

It was unfortunate that the two Centennial Beasts committed suicide when they saw that their leader had been killed. William could get several levels for his Shepherd Job Class if they survived.

Even so, the boy did not think too much about it. Two Centennial Beasts could not compare to a Millennial Beast. If William had to choose between them, he would choose the latter at any time.

The atmosphere inside the conference room was heavy. Almost all the towns and villages near Lont had been turned into ruins, or had been completely annihilated from the face of the continent.

John and his animal friend the Blitz, decide to undertake a reconnaissance mission to gain a better understanding of the current situation. Lont is located in the West Bank of the Hellan Kingdom.

It was quite far from the capital, and it would take at least five to six days to reach it if you were traveling using a flying beast like a Gryphon.

“For now, let's wait for John to return,” James said after setting his mind. “If any refugees arrive in Lont, we can allow them to stay in the city hall for a while. The place can accommodate up to two hundred people.”

Everyone nodded in agreement. After a few more discussions, everyone left to return to their duties.

James sighed for the umpteenth time while staring at the ceiling. "I wonder how the King will react to this disaster."

William looked out the window of his room. The battle against the Thousand Year Beast had taught him many things. He had to admit that it was the second most dangerous experience he had encountered in his life at the moment.

The scale of the battle was very different from the controlled environment within the dungeon. Inside the dungeon, William has a chance to escape. However, in the outside world, there was no second chance.

The boy opened his status page and checked the title he had obtained after defeating the Millennial Beast.

William got a lot from the battle. Her Ice Witch Job class reached the maximum level. Not only that, he can also unlock the “Chantless Casting” skill. This was a skill William had always wanted. It allowed him to use magic without having to say it out loud.

Now, he had a few options in front of him. The first option was to raise his Shepherd Job Class Level. The second was to take the next step and advance his Ice Mage to a stronger class.

William opens the Menu for Job Progress. There were several options for him to choose from, but most of them were locked. There are even some unknown ones.

< Ice Witch >

< Elemental Lord > (Locked)

< Battle Mage > (Locked)

< Magic Swordsman > (Locked)

< Cryo Lancer > (Locked)

The system tells him that the work with question marks is known as the "Prestige Class". According to the system, these classes require extreme encounters of chance and luck to obtain.

William didn't think much of it because he already had a prestige class waiting for him to open. It was none other than the "Thunder Murid".

The requirements are very simple. You need to get two classes of work to reach the maximum level. It was a very easy requirement and William only needed to maximize one more class of work to open it.

Basic job classes such as swordsmen, archers, spears, mages, etc., are required to reach job level 40 in order to advance to the next job class. The only question in William's mind right now was, which class of work should he choose next?

The Shepherd's Working Class is its permanent main class. If he wanted to maximize both worlds, leveling this class of work would give him the most benefit.

However, William was very tempted to change the Ice Witch Job Class to one of the other classes as well.

According to the system, once you reach the maximum level of a particular class, you will be able to add "one single skill" to your permanent skill list.

What does this mean? Simply put, if William traded an Ice Mage for one of the other job classes, he could choose one skill from the Ice Mage class to add to his main skill slot.

even if he chose Swordsman as his next Working Class, he could still use Glacial Lance if he wanted to. He could also choose Chantless Casting, Ice Armor, Ice Wall, Mana Regeneration, etc.

Having one permanent skill from a job class was a huge advantage for William.

“Battle Mage and Magic Swordsman sound cool,” William muttered while looking at these two job classes. Although still locked, William could see the terms of their work.

Might and Magic are ready to help you. Who said a mage couldn't fight in close combat?

Requirements:

— All Witch Job Classes Level 40

— Monk Work Class Level 40

< Magic Swordsman >

The perfect combination of Sword and Magic. Nothing is too hot or too cold for those who hold both powers in their hands.

— All Witch Job Classes Level 40

— Working Class Swordsman Level 40

William scratched his head continuously. He can't make a decision. The problem with multi-classes is that it takes a lot of time to maximize the level of the working class.

The Wolf Tide is a "special occasion" that won't happen too often. William knew that killing the Millennial Beast was not an easy thing to do. If not for the person he was fighting being extremely weak, he would not even have the chance to kill him.

Find Beast Tides? That's a very stupid idea.

Although the Lont people turned out to be very strong. He did not want another Beast Tide heading towards them.

'One step at a time.' William sighed. 'I don't need to rush. Maximizing one class of work is already good at my current age.'

William suddenly remembered his former fiancee, Rebecca. They said that he was a genius born every two hundred years. If the young girl knew that she had become a complete ice witch, what would she think? What would her mother, Agatha, and her master, Eleanor think?

The corner of William's lips curved into a smile. 'Not good. I feel narcissistic again.'

He shook his head to clear his mind. All he needed to do now was decide which class of work he should prioritize.

'Should I advance to the Ice Wizard or go to a basic job class? Argha! Deciding it sucks!' William scratched his head for the umpteenth time.

'I think I need to ask Mama Ella for advice. Maybe he can give me a second opinion.'
