Chapter 55: Letter From William Von Ainswort, To My Mother Arwen Aenarion Ainsworth

A crane scream echoed in the distance and Arwen hurriedly ran towards the balcony of his room.

His gaze locked onto the black speck on the horizon that was slowly becoming bigger and bigger. As a High-Elf, Arwen was a very patient person due to his long life. However, for some reason, he felt impatient. He wanted time to accelerate a little faster, so Skyla could arrive in front of him right now!

The long and agonizing wait was over when the stork finally landed on the balcony. Instead of greeting the stork, Arwen immediately untied the cylindrical ties tied to his feet.

Skyla started pecking Arwen's head in dissatisfaction because her friend didn't even greet her and only focused on the package she painstakingly brought from the Southern Continent!

"Ouch! Skyla, Stop! I'm sorry for ignoring you. Please, stop pecking me!” Arwen hastily apologized and did his best to appease the disgruntled storker who had traveled a long way to deliver his message and bring back his beloved son's reply to his letter.

“Krooooo!” (After I send your letter to you, this is how you reply to me?!)

"Sorry! It won't happen again!”

“Krooooo!” (Better not to happen again or else, I won't send you your letter next time!)

“Skyla, You are the best! As expected of a Royal Silvermoon Crane who is proud of their elegance, beauty, and kindness.”

“Krooooo!” (Stupid! Your adoration won't take you anywhere!)

After ten minutes of coaxing and serving silvermoon milkfish, Skyla finally calmed down and closed her eyes to rest. Although traveling across the continent was not difficult for him, the round trip of the Silvermoon Continent and the Southern Continent was still an exhausting journey to say the least.

Seeing her best friend finally calm down, Arwen heaved a sigh of relief and sat down on the chair to read her son's letter.

To be honest, he was afraid to read William's answer. What if he writes that he hates her? What if he wrote a letter of complaint for leaving her? As these negative thoughts flashed through his head, Arwen felt that the cylinder package he was holding in his hand had suddenly become heavy.

Arwen took a deep breath to calm his agitated heart. No matter what, he had to know what William thought of him.

As he opened the cylinder, the scroll folded and a ring fell into his hand.

Arwen took another deep breath before he unhurriedly opened the scroll to read William's reply.

_______

To my beloved mother who thinks of me every day,

Hello, have a good day for you, Mother.

To be honest, it took me over fifteen minutes to write that one sentence because I didn't know how I should start my letter.

I didn't know that writing a reply letter would be this difficult.

__

Arwen giggled lightly as she read the first sentence of her son. She could understand the feeling because she had experienced the same thing when she decided to write him a letter. His eyes trace William's handwriting.

Though not as graceful as hers, she still falls in love with a firm and bright sweep that shows her determination to return the letter.

____

Let me introduce myself formally first. My name is William Von Ainsworth, the most handsome boy in the Southern Continent. Grandfather James said that I look like you, Mother, so that means you must be the most beautiful woman in the Silvermoon Continent.

I was shocked when I saw Big Sister Skyla appear in Lont City carrying your letter. I've never seen a white stork as big and bright as him. He was very gentle and kind to tell the story of you, my grandparents, the Holy City of Nytfe Aethel, and the Silvermoon Continent.

Sister Skyla also said that even though my mother was beautiful, she was also the biggest whiny in Nytfe Aethel Holy City.

____

Arwen's lips twitched as she read the crybaby part of her. He glared at Skyla who was sleeping at the side.

'You traitors!' thought Arwen. 'How dare you tell my son that I'm a crybaby? i didn't!'

As if sensing her gaze, Skyla opened her eyes and gave her the question "What? Do you have a problem with me?” a sideways glance that made Arwen immediately averted his gaze.

With a defeated heart, Arwen went back to reading William's letter.

__

Don't worry, Mother. Even if you were really whiny like Big Sister Skyla said, it wouldn't change the fact that you are my mother, and I care about you.

It's unfortunate that I didn't get the chance to see your face when I was a baby. If possible, could you send me your picture, so that I know what my beautiful mother looks like?

My mother Ella wants to see you too.

Ah, before I forget. Mama Ella was the one who took care of me since I was a baby. She was an Angorian Goat and I grew up drinking her milk every day. In my heart, she is my second, irreplaceable mother like you.

I hope there will come a day when you can meet each other. I love her very much.

___

“I also want to meet you, My son,” muttered Arwen. She wants to meet William's second mother who has been with him since he was a baby. Arwen also felt envy, and envy, at Ella as she had witnessed the growth of William replacing her.

He could feel, based on William's handwriting, that his son loved Ella very much. She even feels worried that William loves Ella more than he loves her.

Although she could understand William's feelings towards Ella as the two of them had been together for so many years, she still felt bitter in her heart. Arwen also hopes he can stay by William's side and see his growth from a baby who can barely crawl, to a boy who is as narcissistic as his grandfather.

Yep. James and Theoden are both narcissistic individuals. It seems that both of their genes have been passed down to William.

____

Capital, Lont City may be the roughest place in the Southern Continent, but this small town – where I grew up – is very warm. The people here are alive and full of life. Uncle Mordred, Aunt Anna, Aunt Helen, Cousin Matthew, and Grandpa were very warm and loving people.

I consider myself a very lucky person because every day is filled with love and happiness. That's why, Mother, you don't have to worry about my well-being. I am very happy now, and I feel like I am the luckiest boy in the world to be part of this loving family.

There are many more things I want to say, but I fear my tears will begin to fall if I continue to express them in words. Perhaps, I also received some whiny genes from you, Mother.

Rest assured, though I cannot pour the rest of my mind into words. I will make up for it with the gift I will attach along with this letter. I managed to disturb Grandpa James and he agreed to open a storage warehouse, so that I can deliver some typical Lont City food to you.

I also added a few more gifts for my Grandparents that I would like to meet one day at Nytfe Aethel. I don't know if this gift is to their liking, but I hope they won't turn it down.

Lastly, Mother, even though it's our first time communicating with each other, know that I don't hate you. Although, I'm sad we had to part with each other, I know you did it for my sake.

Words cannot express how much I want to see you, so please, if possible, send me your painting. I'll also ask Grandpa to paint me too, so you can see how handsome and amazing your son is.

I pray that our destiny meeting will come a day sooner.

Who thinks of you from the Southern Continent,

William Von Ainsworth.

__

Arwen's eyes blurred as he pressed the letter to his chest. He was relieved, and pleased that William did not hate him. However, she also felt bitter because her love feelings were overflowing, but she could not give it to him.

Arwen's tears streamed down the side of her pretty face, but she made no attempt to stop him.

Skyla, who was resting at the side, opened her eyes for a moment, before closing them again. Contrary to what Skyla told William, Arwen was not a crybaby. As a Saintess of the World Tree, it was impossible for her to show her emotional side to the public.

It was only when she was alone, and thought of her dead husband, and their distant son, that she let tears fall from her eyes. He had to stay strong for the sake of the two of them, and Skyla understood this matter well.

It was also for this reason that he was willing to make the long and dangerous journey to travel between continents to deliver Arwen's letter. If this was the only way to make "Little Arwen" she happy then Skyla would even be dealing with the Dragon if it meant she could bring William's message back into her loving mother's arms.

That night, Arwen had a dream. A dream in which his beloved son lies in his loving arms, and no one in this world will ever separate the two of them again.
