Chapter 27: Hurricane Destruction [Part 1]

James gripped the giant battle axe in his hand firmly. This axe had accompanied him in many battles and had witnessed his glorious days. He glanced at his son Mordred. This son of his is a very stable individual and has managed to gain the support of everyone at Lont.

The Ainsworth family is a dying clan. There were only five of them left on the continent. James, Morgan, Mordred, Matthew (son of Mordred), and William.

If he failed to finish off this monster, only two of their bloodlines would remain. He, Mordred, and his grandson, William, will die along with this disaster.

James clenched his teeth. It's something he doesn't want to happen. He can't let that happen. Failure is not an option!

"We only have one chance" James said with a determined expression. “Whatever happens, don't let the beast use Storm Annihilation. I don't care how you do it, Do you guys understand l? ”

Everyone present nodded their heads. Words don't need to be said. Even Jekyll who was always smiling was no longer smiling. The dentist had already removed his glasses, which meant he would now become serious.

The ten-meter-tall wolf attacked and lightning tendrils danced all over its body. Mordred stomped on the ground and punched the air in front of him.

"The Fire Dragon Attack!"

A fire dragon appeared in front of Mordred and flew towards the Beast with an earth-shaking roar.

The four horns of the Wolf Boss glowed. It then shot out two lines of purple lightning towards the sighting that dared to challenge its existence. As the lightning and dragons collided with each other, a huge shockwave shook the battlefield.

Mordred, Marcus, and the other two were thrown because of their close proximity to the blast area. A giant cloud of dust appeared and blocked everyone's view. However, even though they could not see their opponent, they could sense his presence.

A purple figure emerged from the cloud of dust and charged towards them. The Wolf Boss was not even affected by Mordred's full-strength attack. This clearly showed the difference between their strength.

James rushed to meet the wolf directly. There was no sign of fear on his face. Instead, one could see his unwavering determination to win.

"Dead!" James growled as the muscles in his body bulged out. The axe in his hand swept through the air in a crazy attack.

The wolf did not directly face James' attack and dodged to the side. As a being that had reached its rank, it had the ability to measure one's strength. He knew that James' attack was not as simple as it seemed. The axe missed its target and hit the ground.

The ground split creating a ten meter long crack. James did not stop his attack and gave backhand attacks to the cunning wolves that tried to carry out sneak attacks. A roar of pain shot out from the wolf's lips as James' Axe hit its target.

Everyone knew that it was such an important time that Helen joined the battle, leaving William in Owen's care.

A golden thread wrapped around one of the wolf's legs and held it in place.

"Now!" scream Helen.

Marcus and the others unleashed their ultimate attack at the same time.

"Explosion!"

“Earth Spike!”

"Wind Storm!"

The combined attack fell on the purple screen of light that covered the wolf's body. This ability is called Light-Screen. It halved the power of the elemental attack. Although it did not grant the beast immunity to the elements, it reduced its effect allowing the wolf boss to withstand the barrage of spells that fell mercilessly onto its body.

"That's not enough!" James muttered as he leaped into the air to unleash another powerful attack.

The wolf snarled and pulled the golden thread that wrapped around his feet. Because the golden thread was connected to Helen's finger, the woman was pulled along with her ability. The wolf sent him flying to block James' attack in midair.

With an annoyed roar, James eliminated his attack and caught Helen in his arms. The wolf knew that this was a good opportunity so he jumped into the air to swallow them both whole.

Unfortunately, it underestimated the human intellect around him.

With a wave of her hand, Ava pulled James and Helen towards her. What followed was a shrill scream that pierced through the air as the Blitz and John moved.

Using his maximum speed, the fearless Eagle dove towards the wolf that was in the air. The collision produced a howl of pain that came from the wolf. It fell to the ground with a collision. The blitz flapped its wings to fly back into the sky.

Traces of blood could be seen in his claws which proved that his attack was effective. The wolf stood up and roared furiously. One of his eyes was bleeding and it made everyone regain their courage.

However, before anyone could make a follow-up attack, intense flashes of light gathered around his body.

"Shoppers! It will use Storm Annihilation!” James curses. "Everyone, prepare yourself!"

The Blitz catches James, and Helen with her claws and flies upward. Everyone ran behind Owen as the Life Magus prepared its strongest barrier to fend off the wolf suicide attack.

He had already positioned himself in a defensive position with the Lont city behind him. He would do everything in his power to protect his comrades and the townspeople from the last attempt made by this Millennial Beast.

“Blessed goddess, soul redeemer, in my time of need, I come to you. Update my strength so that I can live in peace, ”yelling Owen. “I ask this of you as your faithful son, Oh brightest light. Forgive me with Your grace. Protect those who adore your excellence!”

"Shield!"

A thirty-meter-high golden light barrier exploded in front of Owen. It spread to the side until it was almost a kilometer long. The Aegis Spell was Owen's strongest defensive ability, but it shouldn't be used this way.

At most, Aegis would form a small barrier that would completely fend off any attacks. However, Owen stretched the barrier to its limit. Although it would not be as strong as a concentrated barrier, he hoped it would be enough to minimize the damage from the Storm of Annihilation.

This was the best he could do for his comrades and the Lont people.

As everyone prepared for the Millennial Beast's suicide attack, they saw something move towards the Thunder Horned Wolf from behind his back.
