Soon the two engaged in close combat.
Kingsley's movements and attacks were both graceful and deadly. Clearly, his technique had reached a high level, while William had no technique at all. His fighting style was rough and everywhere.
One could easily tell the difference between the two boys. The members of the Misty Sect started cheering as they saw their elder brother had the upper hand.
Kingsley executes another murderous move aimed at William's feet. However, the Parry Skill activated and blocked his attack.
William's strategy was simple. He will survive and survive. If the Parry Skill was activated, he would immediately follow up with a counterattack. Although Kingsley was fast, Ella was faster when she used her Quick Attack.
William was gradually able to follow his opponent's movements and block him at every blow. His Strength stat allowed him to threaten Kingsley from time to time with powerful blows. The only problem was that none of these punches were connected.
After their initial clash, Kingsley discovered that William was a level stronger than him, so he did not dare to take his punches and focused on avoiding him.
Stat Dexterity and Agility William coupled with Skill Parry gave him the ability to quickly block his opponent's attacks leading to their current situation.
The bruises on William's body accumulate because there are times when Kingsley's sharp attacks graze him.
'I rely too much on magic and don't focus on my foundation.' William regretted that he did not pay attention to learning any martial arts. He knew that it was only a matter of time before he was defeated.
What William doesn't know is that Kingsley is starting to feel anxious. His confidence is initially chipped away by William's uncanny ability to block his deadly attacks.
'This is not good!' thinks Kingsley. 'I have to use that ...'
Kingsley took a deep breath as he charged at William for the umpteenth time.
"First Phase, Phoenix Attack!"
William's staff moved automatically when Skill Parry was activated.
However, instead of retreating as usual, Kingsley instead took a step forward as the wooden stick and sword collided with each other.
“Ice Bullet!” Kingsley muttered as he shot the Ice Bullet at close range.
William's eyes widened because he didn't expect Kingsley to use magic. Eleanor had already mentioned that she was not allowed to use her magic in this duel, but Kingsley was still using it!
A concentrated bullet that was the size of a baseball connected right to William's chest.
William felt himself hit by a bowling ball thrown at full force. The collision left him gasping for breath, which created a gap for Kingsley to release a powerful movement.
"Phase Two, Phoenix Crossing!"
A loud crack was heard as Kingsley's attack hit William's chest.
The red-haired boy spat out a mouthful of blood as he was thrown off his leg. Est covered her mouth as she watched William's body crash to the ground.
Kingsley stepped forward to give another attack to the fallen boy. He is determined to incapacitate William and ensure that he will not think of challenging Rebecca in the future.
It was at that moment that he felt blurred before his eyes.
“Meeeeh!”
Ella transforms into the Angorian War Ibex and blocks Kingsley's path. His horns and nails glowed in a blue light and his red eyes looked at the boy as if he was looking at something about to die.
Kingsley's body trembled uncontrollably as he stared at the ferocious beast in front of him. For the first time in his life, he felt the hands of death had wrapped around his body firmly, and had no intention of letting go.
However, there was no time to escape. Ella didn't give him that chance. With a shout of anger, Ella activated her Quick Attack. The only thing on his mind is killing the boy who tried to hurt his baby.
Just as the horns of death were about to stab the poor boy, James finally made his move.
He casually grabbed the child's collar and threw it to the side. He then used his free hand to grab Ella's horn and hold it in place.
"Let's end it here, Ella," James said as he held back the angry goat. “What's more important? Kill the boy or take William to Owen?”
The reason finally returned to the furious goat as he stopped his attack. Ella looked at James in annoyance, and James let go of his horn.
"Helen, I will leave William in your care" James ordered.
"Yes, sir," Helen wrapped her thread around William and gently lifted him from the ground. Ella pushed him to hurry, and the Ainsworth Family servant boarded the War Ibex's back.
As soon as Helen was firmly secured on her back, Ella immediately ran towards the Life Magus mansion. She decides to heal her baby first before she returns to throw away the boy who dared to hurt William.
Everyone watched the Ibex War unfold with various expressions on their faces. Eleanor is checking Kingsley for injuries. He is responsible for the safety of the children, and Ella's sudden appearance frightens him.
If not for James' timely help, the magic of the Misty Sect would have been pierced by the Ibex War, and died like a dog in a small rural town.
“Since when did you raise War Ibex?” Lawrence asked James who was looking at Owen's house.
“War Ibex?” James replied with a glance. “War Ibex what? I don't know what you're talking about.”
“Hoh~” Lawrence smiles understand.
James sighed while patting his good friend's shoulder. “It would be better if you take the boy away from Lont city. I'm afraid Ella will soon try to kill him again once she gets back. ”
"Well," Lawrence agreed. “I'll be back later to talk more about your grandson.”
“Just make sure you don't bring any uninvited pests with you next time.” James grunting. "I almost lost control and squeezed the boy's head."
“Adults should not interfere in the affairs of the younger generation. This is an unwritten rule in our world, isn't it?”
"It's okay if nobody's looking." James smiled. “Although this rule exists, you and I know that there are many loopholes that people use to bypass this rule.”
"That's right." Lawrence acknowledged. He then looked at the members of the Misty Sect and gave orders. “Come back to the carriage in an orderly manner. We'll be leaving soon.”
Although he wanted to know more about William and the Ibex War, Lawrence knew that now was not the time for it. He could only hold back his curiosity as he led his entourage to where their carriage was waiting for them.
___
"So what do you think?" Lawrence asked his granddaughter who was sitting next to him on the carriage.
They had just left Lont city five minutes ago and were currently returning to their duties to observe the destruction caused by the Beast Tide.
“He has no grace,” replied Rebecca.
"That's it? He has no grace?” Lawrence had a smile on his face when he saw his beloved grandson.
"Grandfather, I don't know what you're thinking, but I don't like it" Rebecca scowled. "I have no intention of marrying her."
Lawrence chuckled but said nothing more. He was already looking forward to the duel that would happen the next seven years.
