Re:Incarnation System
Chapter 16: Canceling the Engagement (Part 1)

“Ya!” (Magnum Explodes!)

A rain of leaves fell on William's head as he tried his craft on the tree. The bark of the tree has no visible damage, but the AOE effect has been activated.

< Magnum Exploded >

(5 Points of Mana)

— Provides AOE Damage of up to three square meters around casters.

— Damage depends on the strength of casters.

— Knockback effect

'... So, this skill is currently not doing any damage because I have no power?' William frowned. 'But, it still has a knockback effect.'

William checked his stats and sighed.

'I need 822 more exp before I get another level to improve my stats, ' William mused. 'Killing one goblin gives me 60 points. To level up, I must kill fourteen goblins. Should I add my points to Strength when I level up?'

After careful consideration, William decided that it was not a good idea. Even if he added his stats to the force, he would not be able to inflict great damage on the enemy. Adding stat points to her intelligence would be more ideal since she could act as support for her Mama Ella.

'Magnum Burst is a good skill because it allows me to drive away anyone who dares to target me. It will also give Mama Ella enough time to come to my rescue. Even if it doesn't do any damage now, the knockback will keep me safe.'

“Eyaaaa!” (Mama, use the Horn Attack!)

“Meeeeh!”

Ella's horns were twice the size and glowed blood red.

The goblin was stabbed and screamed. Ella did not stop after she stabbed her target. Instead, he ran towards the basement wall with the intention of crushing the goblins into pulp.

< Exp Points Earned: 60 >

'Good!' William grinned when he saw the notice. Currently, he is multitasking. While examining the battle, he also observed the map at the same time. His right hand held a wooden stick in preparation to protect himself if a random monster appeared beside him.

He had already learned his lesson and he would not let any mistakes happen this time. He and his Mama Ella have only one life. It is best to be careful and take things slowly.

After killing thirteen more goblins, William finally gained a level in his stats and work level.

Current Expedition: 18/2010

< Shepherd Lvl 3 >

Although he was tempted to add stats into power, he knew that now was not the right time to do so. He put the three stat points he gained into the int and it made him feel a little more confident.

< Power: 0 >

< Agility: 0 (+1) >

< Vitality: 1 (+1) >

< Intelligence: 17 (+1)>

< Dexterity: 0 >

After keeping his stats, William put all his available skill points to Wolf's in Sheep's Clothing. He knew that this was the safest investment he could make because Ella was the one fighting for him.

The stronger he is, the safer he is.

'With this the first floor has been cleaned, ' William clapped his hands happily. 'Time to go to the second floor and see what kind of adventure awaits us.'

Ella licked the baby's cheek. Obviously, he's in a good mood. He could feel himself getting stronger. For him, it was a good thing. His only concern is William's safety.

“Eya.” (Don't worry, Mama. I'll keep myself safe.)

“Meeeeh.”

“Eyaaaaaah!.” (Let's go to the second floor!)

“Meeeeh.”

William sat on Ella's back with a smile on his face. The Angorian goat walked steadily as it descended, carrying its baby, to the second floor of the Goblin Crypt.

__

Nine years passed quickly, like grains of sand in an hourglass. For William, those nine years were filled with familiar calls as he and Ella walked the thin line between life and death.

Of course, he could choose not to use the Ring of Conquest and live a peaceful and stable lifestyle. However, he did not choose that route. He did not want to waste his youth by just eating and sleeping.

His mentality with respect to his second life was largely due to the influence of the novels he had read while he was still on Earth. William knew that if he did not seize the opportunity to become stronger when he was young, he would regret it for the rest of his life.

In a valley located near the outskirts of Lont, hundreds of Angorian Goats and sheep are currently eating the grass quietly. Not far from them, a ten-year-old boy was sitting on a tree branch. He continues to be wary of potential threats to the safety of his Goat herd.

The wind shook his short red hair as he looked at his flock with a smile. Among the hundreds of Angorian Goats, the herd consists of only fifty individuals. The rest were managed by five other shepherds, and apprentice shepherds like him, who lived in the city of Lont.

"Aw!" A young boy in his early teens runs towards the tree where William rests. "Your grandfather is looking for you!"

'Grandfather?' William glanced at his friend Theo, who was also the son of the most senior shepherd in Lont.

"Do you know why he's looking for me?" ask William.

"No." answered Theo. “But, he doesn't look good. Looks like he's very angry.”

William frowned. His grandfather was a very happy man. Very few things can make him angry. Theo had no reason to lie to him, so there must have been something that happened to the old man while he was away from the estate.

"All right." William nodded his head. “Can you keep my flock as long as I'm gone? If I don't return before my shift ends, take them back to our family home.”

“Eh? But, I was supposed to play with the others this afternoon.”.

"I'll give you a piece of apple pie."

“Two pieces.”

"Agreed." William grinned. He then shouted at the herd that was grazing in the meadow. "Mama! Let's go home. Grandpa calls us!”

“Meeeeh!”

An Angorian Goat one and a half meters high came out of his flock and ran towards William. The boy jumped off the branch and landed nimbly on his Mama Ella's back. The two traveled back to their residence in a hurry.

What William doesn't know is that there is a storm going on inside the Ainsworth Residence and it's all because of him.

As William and Ella approached their property, they saw a luxurious carriage in the distance. He had never seen a train like this in Lont, so he assumed that they had guests coming from outside their borders.

Right next to the carriage was a six-meter-tall creature. This animal has the head and wings of an eagle, and the body of a lion. It was easy for William to identify the creatures that came from these myths and legends.

"Gryphon" William muttered as Ella stopped in front of the beast to take a better look.

The Angorian goat raised its head and looked at the Gryphon. Gryphon stared back. William could see the humiliation in his haughty and sharp eyes. It was as if the two of them were just passing insects and were not worth paying attention to.

"Let's go, Mama," said William as he stroked Ella's neck. "That's just Birb overgrown with grass."

“Meeeeh.”

“It's not a Bird, Mama. it's Birb.”

“Meee?”

“Birb is what you call a bird in crisis of identity.”

The goat stared at the Gryphon once more before nodding its head. He agreed with William that this creature was not a bird, but a birb. Since it was a birb, he didn't have to bother trying to figure out why he had legs, not claws.

Clearly, this bird is going through an identity crisis.

The goat looked at the Gryphon with pity before walking towards their home.

“Meeeeh.”

“I agree, Ma. This birb is really pathetic.”

Gryphons are highly intelligent creatures. Naturally, he understood William and Ella's conversation and made her very angry. If not for the fact that it was tied to a carriage, it would have already trampled two insects that dared to look at it with pitiful eyes.

With a stomach filled with anger, the Gryphon gave a deafening shriek, but William and Ella did not even bother to glance at him a second time. They are more curious about who their guests are. Since they were riding the extraordinary carriage pulled by the Gryphon, their identity was definitely unusual.

"Grandfather, I'm back!" William shouted as he opened the door.

“Meeeeh!” Ella also announced her arrival which made those who were currently sitting in the living room stare at them in surprise.

There were three people sitting on the sofa, and four people standing behind them. The three wore elegant clothes, while the four men behind them wore light armor.

James, Mordred, and Anna, sat across from these guests. William noticed that his grandfather's expression wasn't very good. He could feel an almost uncontrollable rage that threatened to explode at any moment.

"William, please sit down, please" Anna said with a smile. "These guests came from Holland from Griffith."

Anna's tone of voice was polite, but William could not feel a respectful tone in his voice. It was as if her aunt was not treating these people as guests, but pests that came to their territory.

Mordred cleared his throat and introduced the guests one by one.

“This woman is Duchess of Griffith, Lady Agatha,” Mordred said with a smile. "And this beautiful young girl is her daughter, Lady Rebecca."

He then turned his gaze to the beautiful woman wearing an elegant light blue robe. His cold face and cold gaze would make anyone bow their head in submission.

"This woman is one of the elders of the Misty Sect, Lady Eleanor." Mordred grinned. "They came from far away just to see you, William."

"Oh?" William raised an eyebrow and assessed the guests one by one.

The Duchess of Griffith has long light brown hair, and green eyes. She could be considered beautiful, but the obvious displeasure on her face made William think of an old witch who came out to give the little children a poisoned apple.

His daughter, Rebecca, on the other hand, made William's eyes soften. Although he was not entirely sure, he guessed that his age was almost the same as her. Her short, light brown hair that was about to reach her shoulders looked as smooth as silk.

She had the same light green eyes as her mother, but compared to the old woman, her eyes were bright and clear. Her cute and adorable lips formed a smile that made her already beautiful face, very charming.

William sighed at the doll-like girl in front of him. He had no doubt in his mind that if he was a lolicon, he would have locked him in his room and treated him like a pet.

As for the cold beauty who was staring at her dagger, William did not even glance at her a second time. Although she was beautiful, the boy knew that she was the embodiment of bad news.

"Good day to all of you" William said with a smile. “My name is William Von Ainsworth, Will in short, and the most handsome ten-year-old boy in the Middle Continent. I'd venture to say that you won't find anyone more handsome than me. As for other boys in the continent .. ”

William curled his lips in disdain. “They all can only fight for second place.”

After William's shameless statement, the room suddenly became quiet. Even the sullen old woman and the cold beauty looked at William with a dumbfounded face. It made the grin on William's face widen. Obviously, he was very satisfied with this result.

The silence was suddenly broken by the boisterous laughter coming from James.

"Ha ha ha! As expected of my granddaughter! ” James clapping. The anger that he had been sniffing out completely evaporated into thin air as his eyes turned into a crescent moon. “Layak to Ainsworth!”

William flicked his hair and flashed a dazzling smile. She also gave the little doll the expression "I know you like me".

Since he had just come from the meadow, William's clothes were dirty. His face was dusty and his red hair was a mess. Even so, her green eyes—which was as clear as emerald— made a small doll, Rebecca, raise her eyebrows as a receipt.

"This should be enough for a first impression" William mused. 'If I'm not mistaken, this little loli should be my fiancee. As expected of Grandpa, he really did a good job.'

William found the Rebecca he liked and gave the young girl two thumbs in his heart. The boy knew that, in a few more years, this little doll would grow into an incredible beauty. Marrying someone like her was not a bad idea, as far as William was concerned.

However, before he could even imagine her rose-colored future, the old woman opened her mouth and broke William's daydream.

"Since you're already here, let's get straight to business" Agatha said in a mocking tone. "We came here to break the marriage covenant between my daughter and this unworthy boy covered in dirt!"
