Chapter 90: The End Of Martial Arts Training, Dwayne

'I knew I was a good instructor!' Dwayne praised himself. 'The so-called genius boy from the temple had only become paralyzed because he was not good enough. This brat is really talented'!

Dwayne felt very satisfied that William had improved greatly since he started his Martial Arts training. He was even tempted to negotiate with Celine to have William become their official student.

'I'll ask him when we get back to Lont, ' Dwayne mused. 'I can't wait to bring this boy to the Temple and let him face off against the so-called wannabee miracle. My hands itch just thinking about it.'

After William finished his punch practice, the monk then taught him the kicking technique. The red-haired boy's determination to learn Martial Arts encouraged him to take every Dwayne lesson seriously.

Dwayne was in such a good mood that after William had mastered his kick technique, he had also taught him some palm strikes, this one a slightly cunning technique, which was very effective in close combat.

After completing William's basic training, he taught him the Martial Style Monkey Staff as the next training opener.

This technique looks like it is being funny and is just trying to provide a means of entertainment. However, when tested, it allows William to perform stunts with his wooden stick that can cause serious injury to his enemies when they underestimate and are unaware of it.

“Hah!”

With a shout, William used a side kick to break Dwayne's balance. However, the latter only used his feet to neutralize the boy's attack.

Pressing both of his palms on the ground, William unleashed a series of kicks that forced Dwayne to retreat.

When William finishes his training, Dwayne decides that the boy is now ready for the actual battle. Using some artifacts to demote his rank and physical strength, Dwayne argues with William to develop his student's fighting instincts.

Currently, Dwayne's physical strength was at the initial stage of the Silver Rank. Ironically, William's combat prowess was already at the early stages of the Golden Rank. In their duel, the boy had no battle experience to win.

With a simple palm strike, Dwayne sent William flying several meters from where he stood. He did not make any further attacks and waited for the boy to recover his position.

“The Stork Style is defensive, not attacking,” Dwayne reminds. “Although it can be used offensively, when dealing with an enemy stronger than you, it would be better to stick to what that style can do.”

"Yes, Third Master," replied William while executing the Stork Position. “I'll remember your teachings.”

Dwayne smiled and took on the role of an attacker. The two once again collided in a series of punches, kicks, and palm strikes. William was pushed again and again, but he would always stand up whenever he fell.

As the days changed weeks, and weeks changed months, William's fighting style finally took shape. Dwayne was proud that the young man had exceeded his expectations. It made her realize that having a student was not a bad idea.

'I hope Celine will agree to my request, ' Dwayne sighed. 'Maybe I can bribe him with an artifact or a treasure. I really want William to be my official student. It is not uncommon for a disciple to have two, or even a few, masters.'

While Dwayne was deep in thought, William was currently doing a round around the lake using a handstand. If Oliver saw her, he would definitely tease the youngster and call her a monkey.

____

A year passed when William studied under Dwayne. The monk was very satisfied with the appearance and abilities of his temporary disciple. If not for the fact that the boy needed to do another type of training, he would have insisted that he stay with him to learn a higher form of Martial Arts.

Right now, William's battle prowess in unarmed combat was Gold Ranked. What Dwayne didn't know was that within a year of that intensive training, William had reached the maximum level of his Priestly Working Class.

William achieved this feat through pain and suffering. Even during his rest time, he would continue punching the boulders. If there were no stones to be punched, he would punch the ground.

Unfortunately, he could not ascend the Monk Occupation Class to the next level because there were requirements. William needed to visit the Monk Temple and pray to the Gods before this Working Class could be upgraded.

Dwayne did not skimp on William's combat training and the two dueled almost daily after William had mastered his fighting style to a decent degree. Due to the continuous one-sided beating he received from Dwayne, the red-haired boy's fighting instincts improved greatly.

Owen had helped her to increase her stamina.

Trent had taught her to increase her perception.

And Dwayne teaches him Martial Arts which combines everything he has learned in a fighting style that suits him.

“Although you have only been my student for a short time, I am very proud of you,” Dwayne said with a smile as he patted William on the shoulder. “Our lesson ends here. It's time for you to go to the next part of your training.

"Thank you, Third Master," replied William and gave Dwayne a deep sense of gratitude. He also felt reluctant to stop his training with the Bald Monk because he felt he still had a lot to learn.

Even so, he knew that this was the curse of the Jack of All Trades. He could never focus on a single class if he wanted to improve his performance.

"Let's go back to Lont City," Dwayne grinned. "Your next Instructor says that you can have two days off before you start your archery training."

William returned his Master's smile as he nodded his head in receipt. The boy looked towards Lont city with anticipation. He was looking forward to the next set of training waiting for him.
