Chapter 19: The Stormcaller Family Treasure, and William's Secret

"Will, are you sure of your decision?" James asked.

He returned to the living room after their guests left their residence. Although she still felt angry over the annulment of the marriage agreement, she had a feeling that her granddaughter was planning something.

"Grandfather, do you think someone as handsome as me would have trouble finding a wife in the future?" William answered with a smile. "Again, someone great like me is destined to have many wives!"

“Pronounced like true Ainsworth.” James chuckled as he rubbed the boy's head. "Indeed. I have no doubt in my mind that the women will be lining up to have a chance to be your wife. Besides, when I was your age, every girl in the village wanted me to be their future husband.”

Anna did her best not to turn her eyes to the couple's grandchildren and grandfather. She turned to her husband and whispered in his ear.

“I always knew that dad was a narcissist. However, I did not expect that William would also grow into one. ”

Mordred sighed and sipped his tea. He had known about his father's bad habits for a long time and had gotten used to it while growing up. It seems to be a narcissist embedded in their genes.

“Hmp! That bitch and her bastard husband will regret this in the future. ” James grunting. "I'm sure the old fool will have a heart attack as soon as he hears that it's his family who broke the covenant."

James glanced at William, who was eating a piece of apple pie. He still did not understand why his grandson had asked Agatha and Eleanor to show him the rare weapon. Those weapons usually cost over a thousand gold coins if sold in the weapon shop.

"Um, Will, what were you thinking when you asked them to show you that rare weapon?" James asked.

Anna and Mordred's ears were raised when they heard this question. Just like James, the two were also very curious.

William smiled and opened his hand. A few seconds later, a small ice cube floated just a few inches above his palm. Then, the ice cubes disappeared and were replaced by small flames. William's demonstration did not end there.

The fire disappeared and a small ball of water floated in its place. When the water ball disappeared, a gentle breeze was felt inside the room. Lastly, a piece of rock floated over William's palm and stayed there for a few seconds before disappearing without a trace.

James, Mordred, and Anna gasped in shock. They all couldn't believe what they saw. Their eyes were fixed on the boy who had a satisfied expression on his face as if what he showed them was no big deal.

“I have the ability to learn the strength of other professions as long as I am able to hold something that belongs in that profession,” explains William. “Of course, that doesn't mean I can be directly proficient at it. Just like any other disciple, I had to start from scratch to use this power and make it mine.”

William is not lying. Even though he had obtained several classes of work, they were all level zero. If he wanted to use it to its full potential, he needed to raise the level of the corresponding occupation to unlock the special skill under his skill tree.

"A-do you have an interest in lightning?" James stuttered.

"Affinity? No. gabe. I don't have proximity to any element,” explains William. “However, if I hold an artifact or weapon related to a particular profession, it is quite possible for me to learn that profession.”

James and Mordred glanced at each other before the elder left the room in a hurry.

"William, you shouldn't say this to anyone" suggested Mordred. "You have to keep this a secret."

"Uncle, the only reason why I tell everyone my ability is because everyone present here is a family member." William smiled. “If I can't even trust my own family, then to whom should I trust?”

William took a risk when he showed his ability to everyone. However, he believed that they would all keep it a secret. He had never had a family in his previous life. As an orphan, he never understood what it was like to have a family.

This was also why he decided to divulge his abilities. He was willing to put his trust in the Ainsworth Family. Although it was a reckless move on his part, he had a feeling that this was the right thing to do.

"Will, thank you for your trust." Mordred felt touched by the sincerity of her nephew.

Anna felt the same way as her husband and looked at William affectionately. He didn't say anything because he felt he didn't have to say anything. Trust is something that cannot be expressed in words. The feeling is enough.

Five minutes later, James returned to the room with a wooden box. The box had a very complicated design. There were symbols written in it in a language that William could not decipher. It was over two meters long and one foot wide.

William assumed that the object in the box was a weapon. Seeing his grandson's attention focused on the box, James slowly opened the lid.

A purple glint or light appeared as soon as the box was opened, and purple lightning tendrils wriggled in the air like little snakes.

"… this?" William's eyes sparkled as he looked at the weapon inside the box.

"His name, Stormcaller," James said respectfully. “It was a weapon of our great ancestor, Claude Von Ainsworth.”

"Call Storm? ..." William looked at the spear in wonder.

The spear was at least, six feet long. His black handle was laced with a beam of gold like a bolt of lightning. The blade of the spear was purple in color, and one glance was enough to tell William that this was no ordinary weapon.

"Continue" urged James. “Hold.”

James wanted to see if William could harness the power of that spear. He wanted to know if the Ainsworth Family prophecy would happen in his generation.

William gulped as he extended his hand to hold the handle of the spear. Lightning tendrils crawled into his hands, but it did not hurt him. Instead, it gave William an amused feeling.

< Ding! >

< System has detected a weapon that can unlock the Prestige Class. >

< The host has not met the requirements required to open this Prestige Class. >

< Host cannot obtain Prestige Class: Thunder Pupil. >

“Murid Thunder..,” murmured William. 'Prestige Class? How is it different from other classes? I had to reach Job level 40 on two separate job classes to open this job class…'

At first, William was confused, but it only lasted a moment. His confusion was replaced with excitement as the hand holding the Stormcaller trembled with excitement.

When James heard William mutter the word "Murid Thunder", his heart skipped a beat. This was a secret passed down through their family lineage, and only those with the Ainsworth Family lineage knew the importance of the Stormcaller.

“B-how?” James asked. His voice trembled with fear and excitement.

William took a few deep breaths to calm down. He then looked at his grandfather with sparkling eyes as if he had found an incredible toy.

“Those who can use this spear will be able to get a profession called 'Thunder Disciple',” replied William honestly. "However, I can't study this profession for now."

"For the moment?" Mordred asked. “That means, you can learn it in the future?”

"Yes." Yeah." William acknowledged. "At most, I need two to three years to reach the minimum requirement."

“Only two to three years? Nice." James clenched his fists as a wide grin appeared on his face. “Then, from now on, this spear is yours!”

"Throughout?!" William gasp. “Thank you, Grandpa!”

"Ha ha ha!" James patted William on the shoulder. “No need to thank me. However, there is something important that I have to say to you. Please sit down."

William complied and sat on the sofa. James sat down beside her and looked at his grandson with a complicated look.

"Let me tell you something about the power of the elements," James said after arranging his thoughts.

"Elementary power?" ask William.

"Yes." Yeah." James nodded his head. “You can ask me later. Let me finish my explanation first. ”

William sat down properly and looked at his grandfather with a serious expression. Looking at his grandson's face, James could not nod in agreement. He then cleared his throat to begin his explanation.

“Among the power of the elements, the most common is fire,” James explained. “Almost all magicians can use this element. Even those who do not have an affinity for the fire element can use it to some extent. Of course, there are also magicians who can only use elements that have an interest in them.”

“Short story, the most common element a witch can use is fire. The second is Earth. Those who could use the Land Element were much sought after by people. Wh why? Because it allows them to build something.”

James paused for a moment to let William understand his lecture. “Castle walls, bridges, houses, and other structures can be created using the power of Earth. It is also a very stable Element that is widely used for defense. Among all the elements, Earth is the most powerful of all.”

“Then we have Wind. This element was used the most by the elves. You can even say that every elf was born with an affinity for the Wind Element. Of course, some of them are also blessed with Life and Light magic, but we will talk about it later.”

“Wind can be as gentle as a breeze and as sharp as a knife. This allows those who use it the power of flight. Of course, if you reach a certain level of expertise, you will also be able to fly freely in the sky.”

“Next is water. Water is an element of life. Just like the air we breathe, we need it to live. These elements can be as calm as a calm lake, or as hard as a tsunami. If you meet someone who has an interest in water magic, you better treat them well.”

“They are the most supportive friends, and the most condensed enemies. If you can't be friends with them, make sure you don't offend them.” James chuckles. “Your grandmother was a sage who specialized in Water Magic. She's the most incredible woman I've ever met in my life.”

James' lips quivered as he recalled his late wife. William could see the change in his grandfather's expression, so he held the old man's hand to give him support.

"Don't worry. He is now in a better place and watching us,” James smiled then continued his explanation. “All other elements exist in the world, branching off from the four basic elements of Fire, Earth, Wind, and Air.”

“Of course there are exceptions to this rule which includes Space, Time, Light, and Darkness magic. Ice magic is a branch of water magic. Some strengths are made from a combination of two or more elements. However, among these, there is one special element that stands above everything and that is. Lightning Magic.”.

"The magic that stands above everything?" ask William. “Do not tell me..”.

James grinned. “The lightning magic is said to be a power possessed by the heroes. Anyone who could learn this magic would be sought after by the powers in the continent and raised with great care. Of course, there were also factions that hated these so-called heroes and among them was the Devil Race.”

“However, the first heroes are called to defeat the Demon King who terrorized this land, over several thousand years ago. Of course, the most famous of them all is none other than our ancestor, Claude Von Ainsworth.

With the Stormcaller in his hand, he summoned the Heavenly Lightning to purify the land from the corruption of the Demon Race.”

“Since then, the demons have gone up and out to kill anyone using the lightning element. So, brat, make sure not to use this power lightly. When this power is revealed, it will be the same time that your life will change forever. Remember this and remember carefully!”

"I understand." William nodded his head. "Grandfather, I will not use this power lightly."

"As long as you understand then that's good." James patted the boy's head. “The ring on your necklace is also a storage ring. You can keep our family heirloom in it, but you have to promise me that you will keep it safe. ”

"I promise, Grandpa," William patted his chest. "As long as I'm alive, no one can touch our family's priceless treasure."
