Sean and I had just finished lunch at a fast food restaurant not far from my apartment, and Sean asked me to stop by his residence which turned out to be a building with his office. I'm saying yes because I think I need to discuss some things about him, a lot I want to know about him, especially his personal life. I felt the need to get to know her more before we actually got married.
Sean took my hand into the Warner Enterprise building, his smile on his lips did not disappear for a second, for some reason he looked so happy. Unlike me who was uncomfortable with the gazes of those who saw us, I felt like a thief who had just been caught red-handed.
We entered a special elevator, not the same elevator when I came here a year ago. I saw Sean push the 46 button I trusted our destination.
"Don't be nervous" he said softly with a smile. I just realized my trembling hand was held by her. I tried to smile, even though my heart was not calm right now. I don't know why I can do this when we won't see anyone there.
Why is this elevator so long, the awkward atmosphere is so felt because there is no one else besides us. I looked down, staring at the white sneakers I was wearing, my mind drifting everywhere, from weddings to my fear of failure. Without me realizing Sean was cupping my cheek with his right hand while his left hand rested on my waist, pulling me closer to erode the distance between us.
I cast my gaze when I felt her breath sweeping across my face, the smell of mint coming out of her mouth so fresh, when I had not seen her eating sweets since, I had no idea where the scent came from. Sean pulled my face to face him, I could clearly see his handsome face with blue eyes, a sharp nose and a firm jaw overgrown with thin hair.
"Why are you nervous? I'm just asking you to see where I live, not take you to court." Sean laughed, my face must be blushing right now. Ah, embarrassing!
"Stop teasing me!" I said ketus, how dare he showed a happy face when it managed to piss me off.
Ting!
The elevator door opened, I immediately stepped quickly leaving Sean laughing behind. Really sucks! My frustration disappeared for a moment when I saw the scenery in front of me, a spacious room with transparent glass walls that showed the view of Jakarta. I'm sure my saliva will soon drip if Sean doesn't make a sound.
"Welcome-home!" he said casually, walking past me towards one of the rooms, the last I knew as the kitchen as he emerged from there carrying two cans of cold soda.
"You've been living here all this time?" I was curious, I still observed the whole room that was clearly designed for men, no feminine touch in the slightest. White walls with furniture dominated by black and gray, there are several paintings attached to the wall, one of which is a Guernica painting by Pablo Picasso, I did not know it was real or fake, I obviously know the painting.
"Not always, just when you're free and lazy to travel." My hand reached out to receive a can of soda that he poured.
"Then, where have you lived all this time?"
"Where would I like, but this is my main house. I usually move around and come back here when I'm tired of exploring."
"Are you the brother of Dora the Explorer?" Sean laughed at my stupid question, yes, who believes Dora is real. Huh!
"You looking around?" said offer. I gasped and shook my head, this isn't what I'm here for. I followed him because I wanted to ask about him not to do a house tour.
I sat on one of the sofas facing out, enjoying the view while occasionally sipping the cold soda I had been holding.
"Can you tell me about you?" I said after being satisfied enough to spoil the eyes.
"What do you want to know?"
Sean sat next to me piling his legs together, again smiling.
"There was nothing special about me, I was an only child, born and raised in a disadvantaged family, my Daddy died when I was 13, while my Mommy died when I had just finished my college. My personal life is not interesting at all, I rarely relate to women, never a few times but only last a few months. Nothing can replace your position." Sean blinked one eye, making me smile cynically, his confidence was very high.
"How can you have a company of this size?"
"Don't I ever say that? Hard work and love. You're the only reason I worked so hard until I reached this point. At first I was helped by my uncle, his father Dhea, slowly but surely, I was able to develop my business. It's not easy, but, yeah, you could say I'm succeeding now." Sean sounded very confident in his words. His eyes were shining pride on himself.
"Is your Daddy a stranger?" I wonder where he got those blue eyeballs and those pointy noses.
"Yes, Daddyku is of Indo-German descent, while Mommyku is Chinese. But I've been growing up in a native Indonesian environment, ever since Daddy died, me and Mommy hitchhiked to live with Dhea's parents. Those who help us deal with hard times." Sean smiled bitterly, there was sadness I could see.
"Enough for an introduction this time, I'll continue later." Sean stood up, stretched out his hand right in front of my face, and I accepted.
"Where are you taking me?" manya curious. Sean simply displayed his charming smile without answering my question.
I followed Sean's footsteps who led me up the stairs, continuing to walk until we stopped in front of a room at the very end of the second floor. Sean took off his grip and pulled out a key from his jeans pocket.
"I wish you could trust me after entering this room" he said, this time sounding serious. The room was opened, but nothing was seen because it was dark.
I pegged as soon as the light came on, showing the contents of the room. My reflexes were rounded and my hands were closing my wide-open mouth. This is really surprising! The room in front of me was full of pictures of my face, I could not count the numbers, maybe about thirty or so, different shapes and sizes, my eyes were fixed on one of the biggest paintings, in the painting I laughed cheerfully with my mouth wide, for some reason I looked happy there. Then I turned to the twinkling Christmas lights, the lights arranged to form the inscription 'I LOVE YOU'.
I turned around, looking at Sean intently, my eyes teary, happy and happy feelings united beautifully, catapulting me to the wishful thinking I had never achieved all this time. I felt like a girl who had just received a declaration of love, so happy, so flowery.
Sean came closer, cupped my cheeks with both hands, wiping away my tears using his smooth thumb.
"I love you, love you so much. Don't hesitate to step with me, we'll get through everything together. Share your burdens with me, tell me your every complaint, I'm ready to listen to everything, keep believing in me, no matter what happens I won't leave you. Not for a second!"
I nodded quickly as soon as Sean finished his sentence. There is nothing to doubt, everything is clear. Sean loves me and that's enough. I tiptoed to reach Sean's lips, savoring the sweetness while conveying an incredible sense of gratitude and gratitude.
"Thank you!" I said as soon as our kiss came off, I hugged the man who was going to be my husband in a few days.
I am happy, whether I love him or not. I'm happy! Very happy! My boring life changed in just a matter of days, since I replied to one email he sent me, everything changed. This man made me feel like a queen, championed and put first. Making me more sure that I deserve to be loved, I deserve to be happy. To hell with love, I'm definitely happy. BE HAPPY!!!
