...Sean Danial Warner POV's....
"Tell me why did you just disappear? Not a single phone call? This is crazy, Franda! What are you really doing?" I asked Franda as soon as we sat on the bed in our room. Her hair was still wet because she had just finished taking a shower while I had just walked into the room after seeing Ben for a while. I actually took her to take a shower together, but Dave suddenly called me to ask her some work-related questions.
Franda put the phone on the nightstand and looked at me with a smile. "Like you said, I'm having fun" he joked. He tilted his body to reach for the glass filled with drinking water on the nightstand and then gulped down its contents. "I'm not missing, Sean. I visited my parents."
I let out a long sigh while observing her face, a sense of tightness again assaulted my chest as I looked at her two brown eyes.
"Stop." He said sharply.
I blinked confused. "I didn't say anything."
"You're gonna say it" Franda put the glass back on the nightstand and shuffled up to me. "Listen, I'm fine. You don't have to worry or worry."
"But..."
"The reason I'm there is because I miss them, Sean. It's been almost a year since my last visit."
I grabbed her hands and held them tight. "You should have told me, so I could keep you company. And also, you haven't introduced me to them."
Franda smiled as she nodded at a glance. "I know, but I don't want to cry in the graveyard while you look at me, because you're gonna look more pathetic,"
"That's true." I said cut.
"That's why I didn't bring you. I need time to talk to my mom and dad."
"Franda," He suddenly leaned over, brought his face closer and kissed me at a glance.
"Thank you" he whispered as he pulled away slowly. "I'm so lucky to have you, Sean. I can't imagine what my life would be like if you weren't with me now."
Now it's my turn to pull his head and kiss him. Vulturous and hard. Deep and old. I just let go of my lips when our breath was almost gone. "I'd rather get a woman as cool as you, Franda."
Franda grunting. "I know your lunge, Playboy!" he murmured cynically, but immediately smiled after.
"Damn!" I pretended to be caught off guard, making Franda laugh and she laughed.
Franda's face turned serious. He looked down for a moment and looked at me again. "I wish we could be like this forever until one of us stops breathing" he said solemnly.
"I've stopped breathing every time we kiss." I joked back. Franda laughed again, this time his laughter was longer and more detached.
"It's your birthday soon, Sean. What do you want?" He held my hand.
The question brings up a flash of memory in my mind. If there's a day I wish I could forget it, it's my birthday. I used to love birthdays, lots of laughs, gifts, cakes. Until I was thirteen. I can never forget it, I wish I could.
I was so happy that time, because it's been so much longer than I can remember, since we spent time together. He always looked gloomy most of the time, and acted like I was invisible. After we got home, it was already night time. He just sent a message to my mother who happened to be in Kalimantan visiting her brother, Father Dhea and Dean, and then drove me to sleep. I saw sadness in her eyes as she looked at me, as if she was in pain or something.
Then he kissed me on my forehead, and whispered that he loved me very much, and also apologized to me, asking me to live well. I don't know what that meant. Until the next day, I found him in his room. And nothing in this world could prepare me for what happened back then.
My father was there, lying on the floor, with a bottle of tranquilizer in his hand. The same eyes that looked at me last night looked empty. His skin was as pale as chalk, and his body was stiff in a strange way. It was the most horrible sight of my life. It took me years to recover from the trauma every time I remembered it.
So, my birthday? No, I haven't expected it since.
I looked at Franda, tightening my grip. "Well, I have the most incredible wife in the world, what more can I ask for." I joked.
He gasped slowly. "Good God, I'm sorry. You must have thought... Stupidly, very insensitive." Franda scolded herself. I told him this story the night before he had an accident.
"It's okay, baby." I rubbed his arm briefly to calm him down.
Suddenly Franda pulled herself up and sat up straight and looked at me with sparkling eyes. "I think we should celebrate this time. You know, make a party full of chaos." He looks enthusiastic.
I raised my eyebrows to see it.
"Come on, didn't you say we were a good couple? I was stuck with a psychiatrist as a kid, while you never enjoyed your birthday. Oh my, Sean. I don't think any couple has a more tragic story than us." Franda laughs. Laughing at the bitter life that once plagued us that somehow now feels funny, and makes me laugh in the end.
After laughing, he continued. "Maybe it can help you, create new memories, do something different like, go to a bar to have a drink with your friends? It must be fun." he said with glittering eyes.
I'm so happy to see Franda like this. His face was so calm that he had never experienced any suffering, yet I knew he was hiding something through his eyes. Franda was forcing herself to look fine so I wouldn't worry about her. But it's okay, I'll serve him for now. Letting her believe that I wasn't worried about her condition, that I thought she was okay.
"Yes, you should have said that to yourself." I replied sarcastically.
Franda pouted, "I'm not as bad as you are, Samson." sneerily. "At least I'm still celebrating birthdays with my family even though I have to see a psychiatrist first." He put on an elegant pose with his hands.
"Super." my comment insinuated.
"What about Nu China Bar?" Franda just mentioned the club that is often attended by a group of teenagers.
"Many children." I said quickly.
"Yes, but it's still there.. oh, all right, what about Blowfish? Dragonfly? X2'S? Immigrant?" He frowned, like trying to remember. "Ah, anyway we have to go to one of those clubs, it must be very exciting."
I laughed softly. "You forgot to mention LV. You drink like crazy in there and make me fuss." I joked.
"I'm serious, Sean. You need a diversion, blend in like I did, that helps."
I sighed then took her lying down, pulled out the blanket, then hugged her tightly. "I'll think about it. Now, we better get some sleep because I have a meeting early tomorrow." I kissed her a few times and then slowly my consciousness disappeared and I fell asleep.
