"Denise, have you checked the catalogue samples next month that WE Fashion's sent?" I asked Denise from my doorstep. He was busy rearranging the stack of drawing paper that was hanging on his desk.
"Not yet, but it's on my list tomorrow. I'll see her tonight." she said without looking at me. Then he stood up and grabbed a new paper from the table opposite him. "I have to check the financial statements first."
I nodded even though he didn't see me. "Send me the report." I turned around after Denise lifted her thumb.
I was just sitting in my chair and at the same time my phone rang. I took a quick glance and found a message coming in from Sean.
From: Husband 'Stopped: Are you done, baby?
To: Husband: Soon. You you?
From: Husband 'Have: Already. I'll come get you.
To: Husband: Okay, I'm waiting.
I put my phone on the table and hurriedly finished my work because today we are going to enter a new house, which I hope will be an amazing place for our family. Lately my life has been so much fun. Besides the little debate that comes up when Sean and I discuss the children's problem of course.
But, there was still one other thing that was troubling my mind. My birth mother. No matter how hard I want to forget, I still can't get everything about her out of my mind. There are times when I feel guilty, am I being too hard on him? Does he have no right to be forgiven? Such questions always come to my mind.
But then there was a contradictory answer that quickly broke my spirit. I still can't accept the reason for doing that cruel thing to me. Really, I really wanted to see his face like I always hoped, but after learning the harsh reality of his past with my real father and all the lies he did, I think I deserved to be angry.
Well, I didn't know the real story yet but what I heard that day I thought was pretty clear. She killed her husband for cheating on me, and she left me. That's point.
I took a few breaths, then continued the work that was still piling up on my desk. I have to finish everything before Sean comes. Suddenly something flashed through my head.
Two more weeks are chrismast eve and we have not prepared anything to welcome that day. Also, three days after Christmas is Sean's birthday! Oh, my gosh, I almost forgot about it. Last year we missed two special days, there is no way we will miss it again this year. That moment should be celebrated.
I was thinking about what I should give you as Sean's birthday present. He already had it all, giving the item as a birthday gift would feel free. I want to give you something else, but what?
After almost an hour of dealing with the design papers, I finally finished everything, then immediately put them back together and handed them to Denise. Then I walked out of my office building.
"Hey, perfect timing." Sean greeted me just as I opened the door. He looks handsome, ah... Sean was always handsome.
I returned her smile and kissed her cheek at a glance. "Hm, we are indeed soulful." I teased him back, which made his smile widen. With my hand wrapped around his arm, he led me into the car.
"I can't believe you still want to work, Franda." Sean grumbled while driving. His gaze focused on the street before him.
I laughed, not wanting to take her seriously. "That's the only activity that gets me excited, Warner. I'm an independent woman, it's been like that a long time. You can't lock me in your golden cage."
Both of his eyebrows shot up high and he glanced at me at a glance. "Gold cage, huh? We'll discuss that later."
For information, we have discussed it many times. But he always pretended to forget and finally persuaded me again to stop working. In your dreams, Sean! I will not leave what I like. As the saying goes, keep what makes you happy. And working makes me happy.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" Suddenly he sounded serious.
"Sure. Just ask." I'll relax.
Sean didn't speak right away, he was silent for a while and I saw his brows furrowing as if he was thinking about something. "It's about your ex-husband, do you have frequent contact with him?"
"Don't take it personally, I know what a man's head is, Franda. Moreover, you guys have been married for a long time."
"Sean, you're gonna fuck up today" I said. "Please stop discussing unimportant issues."
She giggled cheerfully while I looked at her confusedly. "You're too easily hooked, Franda. You know, your face is so adorable when it's angry, it makes me excited." she muttered with a wink.
I shook my head and smiled in response to his strange sense of humor. "You make me want to tie you up now" I said in a flirtatious tone.
"Never again!" he said quickly. I laughed watching his red face. "Damn, you made me want to puff up your stomach again" he continued, following my style of speech.
"Oh, Gosh. You need a wooden house and towering trees for that." My mouth curled wide as I joked to respond to his words.
"I told you, you just need to undress, Franda. My abilities won't be left behind in your forest house."
I laughed again. "You're really funny, Sean. Do you remember the first time I stayed in your apartment?"
"I wanted to fuck you back then." she replied quickly without a second thought. His roar looks happy.
"Then why don't you do it?" many challenging.
He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't think I want to hurt you. Actually I could have taken advantage of the situation.I mean, it's a great opportunity, let alone I've been waiting for you for a very long time. Necrophilia is not my style, Franda."
I challenged him again. "But you've always fucked me when I've been drunk lately. Isn't that necrophilia, too?"
Sean suddenly turned his head to face me at a glance, seemingly not accepting with my words. "Hey, you attacked me, yeah!" with eyes that open wide.
I couldn't help but laugh watching her face turn red again. Before I could say anything in response, my phone rang from inside the bag. I grabbed it and immediately answered the call. "Hi, mom! Is everything okay? We're almost there." I said to my mom, while Sean was back in the driving focus.
"Yes, Ben was playing while Lily was sleeping. Can you stop by to buy pizza?"
"Sure. Anything else?"
"Burger and French Fries!" Ben's carefree voice sounded snatched, making me and Sean giggle amusedly.
"Donuts and dark mocha!" Mia came calling.
I rolled my eyeballs. "You can go down and buy it, Mia." I said.
"I can't find an exit at your new house. You have to make a special map, Panda." he muttered reasoned.
"Stop your bullshit. Pizza, burgers and donuts, is that all?
"French fries and dark mocha!" sean added.
"Ah, yes, that too."
