CHAPTER 2: News spread

An hour later, the operating room lights went out. Not long after, the doctor who handled Evangeline came out.

Malcolm approached and asked the woman. So did Ardiaz who also wanted to know the condition of the wife.

“Doctor Antony, how is he?” ask Malcolm.

“The fetus cannot be saved. By the time he got here, he wasn't there. Several times the patient was in shock due to heavy bleeding. If you are a little late, maybe the mother and baby will not survive,” explained the doctor.

Hearing that, Ardiaz limped for a moment, staggered and leaned against the wall to keep his body from falling to the floor.

“Then, how now? Is she okay?” malcolm asks Ardiaz who is speechless.

“Operation smoothly. It's just that we wait for further development to ascertain whether the patient has really passed the critical period or not. But clearly, for now we can only pray that he will soon be aware,” explained the doctor.

“Good, Doc. Thanks for the information,” said Malcolm.

The doctor left everyone. They were still waiting there, as Evangeline had not been seen out of the operating room.

Before long, two nurses pushed the patient's cage with Evangeline on it.

Ardiaz quickly chased and helped push where the nurse was going to take the wife, despite the condition of his leg injured by a previous shot.

Malcolm and the others chose not to go after him, and let Ardiaz be together for a while with his wife.

“We will return to headquarters. Delta, you come with us too,” exclaimed Jordan.

“No. He should be treated first. His shoulder was shot, and it's been since,” prevent Malcolm.

“Good. We'll be waiting for him. Do it quickly,” exclaim Jordan.

Malcolm asks Mac Duff to follow him into his room. Since long ago, this was commonplace he did considering how close the four people were, until Ardiaz learned the truth behind the massacre of his family.

Elsewhere, Alexa was seen talking to someone outside the prosecutor's building.

After handing Morgan over to the prosecution and becoming a prisoner there, the reporters who heard the news immediately arrived and wanted to cover the news.

Because, Morgan is not an ordinary person, but the owner of Andara Corporation which is very famous in its field.

The news circulated quickly until it reached Hemachandra's ear. He immediately flew towards Orchid City and found out the whereabouts of the princess who was currently still being guarded by Ardiaz.

Hemachandra herself had just learned that Ardiaz was still alive, from the words of the bodyguard she sent to Orchid City to look after the princess some time ago when news of Evangeline's abduction circulated.

He was surprised by the fact that the son-in-law was actually still alive and with his daughter all along.

“Eva,” call him as soon as he opens the door of the princess's nursery.

There, he saw clearly Ardiaz who continued to be at the side of the wife while grasping the pale cold hand, looking directly into her eyes.

Hemachandra walked up to the two, staring fixedly at Evangeline's face that was still closed.

“Darling, why is it like this? Why do you have to go through this horrible thing?” said it.

He reached out his hand and gently rubbed the top of the princess' head.

“I'm sorry, Dad. I can't protect Eva well,” said Ardiaz.

Hemachandra. His hands even stopped. He took a quick glance at his daughter-in-law, then rubbed back Evangeline's reddish mane without responding to Ardiaz's words.
