CHAPTER 2: Meet Martin

The journey from the hospital to the apartment is not far. It only takes twenty-five minutes if there is no traffic.

Because it's a weekend, the streets aren't as crowded as weekdays. Many people choose to stay at home, or take a walk after working for a full week.

Evangeline drives her car quite smoothly. There is only density in some places, but not to inhibit the speed of the vehicle.

Now, he's turned in the basement parking lot of the hospital. Before going to the hospital, she had already contacted Mac Duff, just in case there were any conditions that would not allow her to visit her husband like before.

At the same time, Mac Duff, who was waiting for Evangeline's arrival, was surprised by the presence of Alexa who had suddenly walked towards him.

The man glanced at her glance, then turned his head back towards the front. She continued to ignore the beautiful woman, even though Alexa always tried to do good to her.

As of this moment, the female King Lucifer appears to be carrying two paper bags that he placed on a chair, arriving at her in front of Ardiaz's ward.

“Are you waiting for your girlfriend? Surely so. Especially this weekend. Your dating style is really weird,” taunts Alexa.

The woman then advanced forward, drawing closer to the thick glass wall that allowed people to see the condition of the fake King from outside the room.

“Overnight, Devon inquired about the girl. You take it easy, I'm not saying that he's an intern at the company. I'm just saying he's one of your club subscriptions. That's it,” Alexa said.

Mac Duff was silent. He did not react at all, although in his heart he was grateful, because Alexa apparently wanted to work together to cover the existence of Evangeline in the large company, although at this time the girl is difficult no longer an apprentice there.

“Why hasn't he been here yet? What is that guy doing?” alexa suddenly muttered.

Mac Duff, who heard this, frowned.

“Did you come with someone?” ask the man later.

Hearing that answer, Mac Duff immediately turned around and ran from his place. He felt something bad was going to happen to Evangeline.

He immediately pressed the elevator button and headed straight for the basement.

Somehow his feelings continued unsettled and his mind was fixed on Evangeline, knowing that Martin was in this place and that Evangeline was coming or had even come.

As soon as the elevator door sounded, Mac Duff instantly prepared and ran for a while as the door opened.

His eyes circled around looking for the whereabouts of the arrogant man. Mac Duff kept running while looking for him until his eyes found a car he knew.

Evangeline's purple Porsche had been parked there, but the girl was not even visible.

He then grabbed the phone from his pocket and tried to contact the girl.

His steps stopped because he heard something. He froze while figuring out where the voice came from.

Slowly, his steps began to draw closer to the source of the sound. He headed towards a corner where the voice was getting louder and louder.

The voice suddenly disappeared as Mac duff's call was routed. He quickly called Evangeline's number.

The mysterious voice rang out again and it made Mac duff even more worried. He was convinced that the voice he heard was coming from Ardiaz's wife's cell phone ring.

His eyes bulged when he saw a flat object with a lighted screen, and his name was listed there.

Beside him, a large package containing lunch provisions lay, and even some of its contents were blown out.

Mac Duff grabbed the lying phone and looked around.

“Eva!” call him instantly.

He then sped up his pace, going around the place. His hands were busy calling Martin, but his calls were always diverted.

Mac Duff is getting frustrated and decides to go look for him somewhere else. However, something made his steps back stop.
