CHAPTER 2: the arrival of Martin and Alexa

Seeing Evangeline's sudden stiff reaction, Ardiaz grabbed the phone from his wife. He saw Mike's name there which means it's a phone from a Mac duff.

“What's up?” ask Ardiaz.

“Martin is heading to your place. Quickly tell Eva to leave immediately. I'll hold it as I can,” Mac duff said from across the line.

“Alright,” says Ardiaz.

The connection was also cut. He turned to look at the wife who looked confused. The girl was already standing, but her hands were shaking to the point of having trouble rearranging the medical device she was carrying.

The man grabbed the mask on the nightstand and put it on his wife's face.

Evangeline looked at Ardiaz worriedly.

“You're out. Delta will buy time for you,” exclaimed Ardiaz.

Evangeline did not respond. The girl simply turned around and walked out of the room. Ardiaz looks anxious, but he believes that his partner must be reliable.

A few minutes later, the noise outside made the fake King turn his head. The door opened and a sexy woman with a man entered the meeting room.

Mac Duff did not follow inside, and it indicated that the colleague was delivering Evangeline's departure.

The guests are Alexa and Martin. They deliberately come because there are things that will be conveyed by both of them.

Martin is seen directly sitting on the sofa, while Alexa approached Ardiaz who was back on the bed, while leaning on the head board.

“How are you doing? Has the wound improved?” ask Alexa to care.

However, Ardiaz looked cold to the woman, and was completely unwilling to respond to the question.

His eyes were on Martin, who had been watching him ever since.

“What do you want to come here?” ask the fake King.

Martin saw Ardiaz's dislike of his arrival there. He leaned forward with both elbows resting on his knees.

“We're here because we want to bring your idiot friend. He is suspected of treason and cooperating with the enemy,” Martin said with a sneer mocking him.

Ardiaz looked furious. His clenched hands tightly squeezed his blanket, after hearing the words of the King Interrogator.

Alexa seemed to shake his guard with the eyeball that rotated upwards. The woman felt what Martin said was something rash.

“Why don't you guys go straight to his place and take the kid straight away? Isn't it very easy to catch that idiot?” ask Ardiaz.

Martin chuckled at the question from the fake King.

“So, do you need my permission now? If yes, of course I do not allow it,” said Ardiaz trying to stay calm.

“Oh come. Whoareyou? You're just Devon's sister. That doesn't mean anything, because actually you and Delta are both suspicious. It's just that you and him are luckier because they're still useful to Lucifer. So he won't touch you as long as you and your friend don't make trouble,” Martin explained.

“Martin, That's enough. Alpha, the point is we're here because of Devon's orders. He asked the two of us to take Charlie. But apparently, the Joker wouldn't give Charlie away without orders from you,” Alexa said.

Hearing that, Ardiaz was not angry and instead he just chuckled.

“If the three of us are suspicious, wouldn't the most suspicious person be the one who messed up the plan and made the loss of many men?”

“I think, Our only intelligent female King can even think of getting there, right? Or your instincts aren't that sharp, Alexa?” ardiaz said with a straight look towards Martin.

The King Interrogator was inflamed to hear the words of Ardiaz who seemed to accuse him.

“You... Are you trying to reverse the charges against me? Heh... Don't expect us to listen to your words. It's all just your assumption that is upset because you lost a fight with the enemy,” tepis Martin.

The man woke up and angrily walked out, leaving the room. However, when he did not reach the door, Ardiaz spoke again.

“Are you sure this is a baseless accusation? How about I find something about that incident, huh?” said Ardiaz with eyes that continued to target the arrogant King who had dared to disturb him.

Martin looks to look to the side at a glance, then steps back out of there.

Alexa who saw it also snorted annoyed, and turned around to go along.

“I warn you not to touch Charlie, or bad luck will come to you all,” Threatens Ardiaz.

Alexa turned her eyes back. He was not at all afraid of the threat of Ardiaz, only that he could not ignore the words of his savior.

On one hand he had to complete the task, but on the other, there was a debt of gratitude he had to pay.

Alexa left and followed Martin.
