CHAPTER 2: A Kiss

The husband and wife looked at each other without a word being said. Evangeline felt that her legs could hardly support her and tried to sit up.

But apparently, the condition of the body that is still completely limp makes the balance of his body can not be controlled, and finally limp.

Luckily Ardiaz's quick reaction allowed him to catch Evangeline's frail body before it completely fell to the floor. He even grabbed an infusion bottle that was about to fall.

Quickly, he sat down with his wife, holding her up high.

“You okay? Is it still limp? Why did you come down first?” ask Ardiaz worried.

While Evangeline, the girl was still bowed, with both hands firmly holding the husband's arm.

A small shock was felt on the girl's shoulders, making Ardiaz try to see clearly the wife's face.

“Eva, you...,” said Ardiaz truncated.

“Sorry..,” by Evangeline.

He raised his face and it was clear if a clear melt had already slid down his cheek.

Seeing that, Ardiaz let out a long sigh while opening his hot eyes.

"What are you doing in that place, hem? Why are you there all night? It's not a coincidence, is it?" cecar Ardiaz's.

Evangeline hush. His fingers intertwined without answering a single word. This further strengthens Ardiaz's assumption of the wife's actions.

“Why are you so bod*h that you have to wait for me in a place like that by yourself? What if it wasn't my guy who saw you, huh?” ardiaz said annoyed, but in a soft-sounding voice.

Evangeline's heart ached again and her chest claustrophobic heard the question from her husband.

The issue was increasingly clear, blinding Ardiaz again looked panicked and brought the girl into his arms.

However, Evangeline immediately pushed Ardiaz's body away from him.

“You said I was bod*h? Which wife would be sane when she saw a husband who had been considered dead, was still alive, and was right before her own eyes?” cecar Evangeline in the middle of his prank.

Ardiaz was silent, because it was useless to respond to Evangeline who was currently unstable.

The girl rubbed the melts from her cheeks, but in vain, because the tears seemed unwilling to stop coming out.

“Why? Why did you have to go this far? Why do you have to lie and say you're dead? And why are you even involved with the mafia now? What exactly happened to you, Diaz?”

“Can't you share your burden with me, like I share my burden with you?” Evangeline asked all the questions that had only been stored in her mind.

While now Ardiaz's turn is seen looking down without answering. They also kept quiet.

After a while, there was only the sound of the clock seconds and sobs coming out of Evangeline's mouth. The two of them were silent, deep in their thoughts.

The sighing in Ardiaz finally ended this silence. His hand grabbed the two hands of Evangeline who had gotten wet from wiping her face many times.

“Sorry...,” says the girl precedes Ardiaz.

The husband turned to look at the face of his wife who had been staring in the other direction and now turned to her.

“I'm sorry for misunderstanding you. Sorry for slapping you. Sorry...,” said Evangeline.

Hearing all the inappropriate apologies, Ardiaz quickly silenced the girl with his lips.

A gentle kiss landed on Evangeline's thin lips, leaving the girl speechless for an instant. His eyes had widened due to Ardiaz's sudden movements.

However, she then closed her eyes, with a clear thread dripping down her husband's face.

The man then pulled himself away, and kept his face away from Evangeline. He didn't want to deepen the kiss and turn it into a kiss.

He himself still did not know exactly what feeling he felt towards this girl. It was just that, the impulse from within him that made him dare to do that twice.

Ardiaz looked at the wife's face with sadness. His stern and cold face, so contrasted with the look of the eyes he was currently shown.

Evangeline opened her eyes, and no longer said anything. He was only able to stare fixedly at the man in front of him.

“Do you want to believe me?” ardiaz said at last.

Evangeline briefly frowned, and then nodded slowly.

Ardiaz smiled at his wife.

“There were many things that happened to me, even before I got into your family. I'll tell you everything, but not now. I still need to make sure of something first,” said Ardiaz.

“How this time will you keep your word?” ask Evangeline.

“You said you'd believe me, didn't you? Have you changed your mind now? It's not too late if you want to cancel it,” said Ardiaz.

Evangeline shook her head quickly. She pointed her little finger at the face of her husband.

“This time should be like this,” pinta Evangeline.

Ardiaz could only sigh with a faint smile, looking at the spoiled manner of the wife.

He frowned at Evangeline's, and pressed their thumbs together, then turned the palms, then swiped them, and ended up shaking hands.

“This time you have to keep your promise. Understand?” evangeline.

Ardiaz simply nodded with a faint smile that was stretched out on his lips. He brought Evangeline into his arms, and this time the girl didn't fight back.

She even wrapped her arms around Ardiaz's waist back, and hugged the man so tightly, as if afraid that he would leave again from his side.

After a long embrace, Ardiaz held Evangeline back to her room, and fed the girl with Joy's porridge.

He helped his wife take medicine and asked her to rest again.

While Ardiaz was fixing Evangeline's blanket, the girl suddenly grabbed Ardiaz's hand, and made the man look back silently at his wife.

“Stay here, hem. Don't go again. Can ya?” pinta Evangelline.

Ardiaz patted the back of the girl's hand gently, and smiled gently.

“I'll be here until you sleep. I promise I'll see you later. For now, it's better that we don't know each other when we're outside. This is for your safety,” said Ardiaz.

Instantly, Evangeline's face turned sad to hear the words of her husband. After hard work, he was finally able to hold the man who almost drove him crazy.

But he forbade her from always being together.

Seeing the wife's sad face, Ardiaz looked down and kissed Evangeline's forehead and inhaled deeply.

The man gently rubbed his wife's mane and tried to make the girl calm down again.

“Aren't you going to believe me? This time I will not disappear again. We will meet often from now on. But, you don't look for me anymore. Let me come to you. Do you understand?” exciting Ardiaz.

Although his heart was still worried, yet a thin smile appeared on Evangeline's lips, with a soft nod.
